My plan was to avoid depending on the big ones for my job, after the demise of FrameMaker for Mac, the under-development of the Windows version, and Microsoft's choice of making a once professional word processor like Word a tool for writing office letters. Since this is not a forum, I would only like to underline the importance of some features to actually make Writer a replacement of FrameMaker and Word; support for vector graphics is an essential one. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This problem breaks my dream of replacing FrameMaker with OpenOffice - something that could otherwise have been done. On the Mac, I found a partial workaround, that at least lets me print the illustratios to a PDF file. However, this solution doesn't seem to export PDF bookmarks as well, making the resulting PDF file unsuitable for any kind of reference materials. Instead of exporting, I printed it to PDF using the PDF driver (I guess it is the Adobe PDF driver that comes standard with the Mac, but it could have been installed by the Creative Suite, I don't know for sure). I understand this should be done by using a Righ Only page style at each new chapter. It would be much easier if a Page Break also allowed to specify the new page position. This could be included in the paragraph style, and automatically break the text and let it flow to the next right page each time the Chapter style is found. 1) Edit the Chapter paragraph style. 2) In Text Flow, specify there is a page break before, and that it is of the Next Right Page type. 3) Apply the Chapter paragraph style to the first line of the new chapter. 4) The new chapter begins in the next right page. This does not allow for different headings/footers, and a diffrerent page style in general, but changing page style is not always needed when starting a new chapter. However, this seems a much easier way of starting chapters on a defined page. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I would like to be able to do it, because of the following scenario: a) You insert a picture in a frame, leaving space on top for a callout. b) In the end, you decide that callout is not needed; then, you want to change the top border, to remove the blank space you left for the callout you decided not to include. This change could not be needed, in case a multiple selection of different objects inside a frame is implemented. However, I find it more intuitive if grabbing the border of a frame resizes that border, and not a different one. The attached images should explain what I mean. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=41048 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Feb 1 03:38:33 -0800 2005 --- I could not find an exact match for Select to end of paragraph to which I could set a shortcut - please advise on how to set that shortcut. I'm sorry, but I did a rough back-translation... The correct chortcut's name should be: Navigate Select to paragraph end Could you remove the shortcut, and reproduce the problem without using the shortcut? If I remove it, I cannot select whole paragraphs: I must select line after line. And no, in this case the problem cannot be reproduced. The xmodmap command gave me this log: shift Shift_L (0x40), Shift_R (0x44) lockCaps_Lock (0x41) control Control_L (0x43), Control_R (0x46) mod1Mode_switch (0x42), Mode_switch (0x45) mod2Meta_L (0x3f) mod3 mod4 mod5 Do you have access to a US Domestic keyboard? No, I'm sorry, but I'll try with the OS in English. Paolo - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 41048] Selecting text and a table crashes the app
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=41048 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jan 25 05:05:05 -0800 2005 --- To cause the crash, do the following: 1. Go to the beginning of the Edit pages on page 8. 2. Use Cmd (or Ctrl in OOo 1.1.2 Mac/X11) + Shift + Down Arrow to select the text. (I assigned this shortcut to the Select to the end of the paragraph command.) 3. Select down to the table. OOo should crash, producing the crashlog I'm uploading. This happens with both NeoOffice 1.1b/p4 (OOo 1.1.3) and OOo 1.1.2 Mac/X11. I'm using the standard 1-button mouse from Apple on a G4/867 running OSX 1.3.7. The keyboard is Italian Pro (the newer, non-ISO layout). Paolo - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
