It looks like you are running RHEL4. WHy don't you just uninstall the perl module like this: rpm -e perl-Compress-Zlib if it won't do that use: rpm -e --nodeps perl-Compress-Zlib And then reinstall the package with up2date -i perl-Compress-Zlib or if you have the dag wieers repo: yum install perl-Compress-Zlib That way you stay compatible with the rest of your installation. If you do want to use cpan (which is a good idea sometimes) then use cpan2rpm for installing perl modules. Again that will keep your package db in good order. [AMaViS-user] 421: Unexpected log failure with anavisd-new 2.5.x
Hi after an update of my system running exim 4.62 and amavisd-new 2.50, mails with more than 3 reciepents will not be delivered and blocked by amavis with the following error: 421 4.1.0 Failed, id=07297-15, from MTA([127.0.0.1]:10025): 421 Unexpected log failure, please try later In the FAQ I've read that this problem comes from the openfiles limit on the os. So I've set the openfiles to 4096 (from default 1024): $ ulimit -a core file size (blocks, -c) 0 data seg size (kbytes, -d) unlimited file size (blocks, -f) unlimited pending signals (-i) 40960 max locked memory (kbytes, -l) 32 max memory size (kbytes, -m) 3522740 open files (-n) 4096 pipe size(512 bytes, -p) 8 POSIX message queues (bytes, -q) 819200 stack size (kbytes, -s) 8192 cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited max user processes (-u) 40960 virtual memory (kbytes, -v) unlimited file locks (-x) unlimited But nothing has changed. Make sure, you hava only one Zlib.pm in your perl folder. i.e. something like this: (on my CentOS5) /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/Compress /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/Compress/Zlib.pm /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/auto/Compress/Zlib /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/auto/Compress/Zlib/autosplit.ix If you haev oter folders with older Compress/Zlib folders, get rid of them or rename them. It looks like your amavisd is looking in the wrong place. It is best to only have one installation of the perl-modules. Ask on the Exim mailing lists if you run out of ideas, google may be of help. in messages I can't see any logentry, freespace is enough, all other mails will be delivered. Hi I've found a solution: Removed exim via rpm, removed /var/log/exim and /vas/spool/exim, reinstalled exim via rpm and chmoded /var/log/exim to 777 - now anything works. [AMaViS-user] Prevent banned notification in case of high spam score?
I've run into a problem lately. I have a ton of spam coming in that is being scored quite highly and properly, but they tried to hide their spam message inside a zip file. It's not actually a virus, so the zip doesn't get hit by ClamAV. The problem is that Banned status seems to be higher priority than Spam, and we generate a warning message to a user if they get a banned file (whereas spam is quarantined with no message and Viruses are just discarded with no notification). So, this stuff is all getting blocked but the zip files within are generating a ton of banned file notifications to my users. Is there any easy way to solve this? I notice that the Spam score is still calculated even for Banned notifications - perhaps there could be a threshold where if a message with a Banned file type has a certain Spam score it will discard it and not send a notification? Yes, it is pretty high, Postfix is taking 34 seconds to respond to end-of-message. Perhaps you have not disabled header of body checks in MTA on the re-entry path (port 10025) and you have complex or poorly written regexp-based header/body checks there. The spam score is only available if it is cached from some previous check of a message with the same contents, or in case of multi-recipient mail where some recipients are set to bypass banned checks. If there is no other need for spam checking and a message contains a banned contents, then spam checking is skipped. I dont't see any obvious solution, except to (temporarily?) disable banned recipient notifications, of lift a ban on zip and let spam checks take over. [AMaViS-user] what needs reloading to fix IO::File ?
I noticed that in my log Mar 14 13:50:42 bilby amavis[30865]: (30865-01) (!!)TROUBLE in check_mail: mime_decode-1 FAILED: Can't locate object method binmode via package IO::File at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5/MIME/Body.pm line 437. tried cpan install IO:File CPAN: Storable loaded ok Going to read /root/.cpan/Metadata Database was generated on Thu, 13 Mar 2008 20:32:28 GMT Warning: Cannot install IO:File, don't know what it is.
