Re: [AMRadio] CW Font
You are mistaken. Click on WIN FONT and your font will be instantly downloaded. Some fonts are only partial in that they don't have lower case or punctuation or numbers. But many if not most of them are complete. And the ones that aren't generally cost a measly 5 bucks to get whatever is missing. Ever tried to build a font? The time required is significant. And it's tedious work. I don't know what anyone would want to do it. 73, Don M. --- Bry Carling [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Unless I am mistaken, that web site is lying about them being free fonts. [AMRadio] Stuff for trade
I have some broadcast tube radios that I need to get out of the house. If you're into that sort of thing I'd rather swap for some ham gear. (cash seems to always get used for other stuff like bills and food, go figure) An RCA floor model, non-funtional, all the innards are there, but the exterior caontrols are pretty bad, knobs are broken and switches are not working. Also the dial glass is gone. I rescued it from an old barn, but it's sitting in my shed waiting restoration that I will probably never get to. Probably great for parts to restore another rig, or if you have the knobs etc you could make it play. A GE AM/FM record player, floor model. Works, but needs help. Plays 78 rpm records (just 78's), recieves stronger stations on am and fm. Cabinet nees to be refinished on the exterior, and needs some basic electrical work to be in good shape. A GE portable radio (the size of a brief case), complete and functional, but only hears the strongest stations. Would consider any reasonable trade offer. 73 Ed KB1HYS ** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. __ AMRadio mailing list List Rules (must read!): http://w5ami.net/amradiofaq.html List Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/amradio Partner Website: http://www.amfone.net Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.html Post: mailto:AMRadio@mailman.qth.net To unsubscribe, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body.

Re: [AMRadio] high-priced accessories and audiophools
Well, thank God for small favors and no price increase!!! However, if one looks carefully, they will see a green dot on each receptacle. This means they are hospital grade and may be used where oxygen is in use. I don't think this justifies a that kind of price but as P.T. Barnum said, No one ever went broke under-estimating the intelligence of the American public... But why does it matter whether or not they may be used where oxygen is in use. I thought everything audiophools used was oxygen free. Re: [AMRadio] high-priced accessories and audiophools
I usually use Hospital Grade 20 A outlets in recording studio installations and never ran into any gold plated but the isolated ground and overall heavier construction is far better than the cheap 15 A ones found at most electric depts. Sure glad I picked up a 5 gallon bucket of military shelter pulls years ago. Re: [AMRadio] USPS Changes May 14
Hi Bry, FedEx may good for domestic shipments, i.e. U.S.A.-to-U.S.A., but for INTERNATIONAL deliveries --- like the U.S.A. to Canada --- FORGET it! Like all of the other commercials, they have the very ODIOUS habit of charging us a MINIMUM $25.00 ...brokerage fee on everything they might carry across the 49th parallel... ...And lest you think I'm merely whining, I've a VERY strong suspicion that said policy is reciprocal on shipments from us, to you... ~73!~ Eddy VE3CUI - VE3XZ - Original Message - From: Bry Carling [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Discussion of AM Radio in the Amateur Service amradio@mailman.qth.net Sent: Friday, May 04, 2007 9:20 AM Subject: Re: [AMRadio] USPS Changes May 14 USPS has been going to hell in a handbasket for some time now. They just get worse and worse. I tell them they should bui;d another post office nerar us so we won't have to CONSTANTLY wait in line for 30-35 minutes. They ignore me. I would pay 50 cents for a stamp, but really they are so messed up it is pathetic. Thank God for FEDEX! As you know I ship a lot, so it is interesting to me the changes that USPS is putting in May 14. Rate increases on everything of course--that's standard. But their parcel post service is actually changing quite a bit. Foreign surface mail shipping has been eliminated. It's all air mail as of May 14th. That should really cut down on the number of boatanchors crossing the pond. Global priority mail is now limited to 3 ounces. That kills the best way to ship small parts, mics and accessories overseas inexpensively. Parcel Post--ALL packages now have to be measured and are charged more as size goes up--not just weight. That should certainly drive a lot of shiping into UPS/FedEx camp. There's many other small changes. If you ship a lot, you probably ought to visit USPS.COM and check it out. 73, Don Merz, N3RHT __ AMRadio mailing list List Rules (must read!): http://w5ami.net/amradiofaq.html List Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/amradio Partner Website: http://www.amfone.net Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.html Post: mailto:AMRadio@mailman.qth.net To unsubscribe, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body. __ AMRadio mailing list List Rules (must read!): http://w5ami.net/amradiofaq.html List Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/amradio Partner Website: http://www.amfone.net Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.html Post: mailto:AMRadio@mailman.qth.net To unsubscribe, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body. __ AMRadio mailing list List Rules (must read!): http://w5ami.net/amradiofaq.html List Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/amradio Partner Website: http://www.amfone.net Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.html Post: mailto:AMRadio@mailman.qth.net To unsubscribe, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body.

FedEx sent paperwork showing that THEY were billed the amount by non affiliated brokerage firm. The fine print in their shipping contract allowed them to legally bill me for the amount almost 4 months later when I no longer had legal recourse with the buyer. I don't think it's all FedEx's fault. There is a middle man on the border charging a lot for simple paperwork processing or whatever they do. Probably does work both ways.
