[amsat-bb] antenna performance
The University of Louisiana sat team is trying to check the performance of its VHF and UHF antenna. Here is the data we would like to know. The receive signal strength of the beacon on the V and U sat and the idle noise when the antenna is pointed to cold sky. To make the measurements useful we also need to know the antenna gain and the bandwidth of your receiver, the satellite and the distance to the satellite at the time of the measurement. If you have the ability to measure signal strength please respond to this email Thanks nick Office 337 593 8700 Cell 337 258 2527 Helping UL become a world Class Engineering and Educational School ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] FOR SALE: TS-2000
Just a few tiny scratches on the top of this TS-2000. It comes with the power cable, original manual and Kenwood hand mic. Unfortunately I do not have the original box but will come well packed. Used up until recently primarily for satellite uplink in combination with Flex5000A using downconverters for 2m/70cm. Also used on HF occasionally. Works great. Just purchased a fully bundled Flex5000A so I really don't need the Kenwood. $1150 shipped to continental US. Inquires to me directly at rjlawn at gmail dot com. 73 Rick W2JAZ ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member? [amsat-bb] Dire-Wolf (Faking a software TNC as hardware)
Hi, How can one configure Dire-Wolf for 9600 baud packet. When I read the website it seems to have that option but I can't find a configuration example. 73 Jan PE0SAT On 05-03-2014 03:42, Stefan Wagener wrote: Try Dire-Wolf as an alternative: http://home.comcast.net/~wb2osz/site/ Stefan, VE4NSA On Tue, Mar 4, 2014 at 8:14 PM, Kevin n2...@yahoo.com wrote: -- With regards PE0SAT Internet web-page http://www.pe0sat.vgnet.nl/ ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Re: Dire-Wolf (Faking a software TNC as hardware)
Hi, What version do you have? The latest stable is 0.9 and it's NOT capable of 9600 baud G3RUH packet... (last checked a few days ago) There is an early alpha of the 1.0 for testing only and it do have 9600 baud packet, so far the testing here with 9600 bauds is as robust as a real TNC (KAM XL+), it's not for production environments, it have some issues... Write WB2OSZ about the 1.0 alpha if you want to test it. It's DEFINITELY much better than Sailer's soundmodem... 73 El 07/03/14 11:54, PE0SAT | Amateur Radio escribió: Hi, How can one configure Dire-Wolf for 9600 baud packet. [amsat-bb] Re: Faking a software TNC as hardware
Easy enough to do, I needed to do this for an app that expected a hardware TNC. So I asked the Author of Dire Wolf to include a KISS over IP option. All you need is HW VSP which is free for a single port version. Connect that to Dire Wolf via IP port 8001 http://www.hw-group.com/products/hw_vsp/index_en.html It works well. I am looking for a way, if possible, to configure a soft TNC application to pretend it is a traditional serial TNC. Essentially, the soft TNC would respond as a COMx,8N1 TNC just as if it were hardware. Is there a way to do this? 73 Clayton W5PFG ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] LituanicaSAT-1
Dear OM's and YL's: Being of Lithuanian descent, I really want to be able to access LituanicaSAT-1. This afternoon, at about 21:50UTC, I tried listening for it, both on the transponder frequency, and on the CW beacon frequency, and heard nothing. I couldn't find any information online regarding whether it is even operational yet. Does anyone know? 73 de Bernie, KF0QS ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. [amsat-bb] Re: LituanicaSAT-1
The recent keps for LituanicaSat-1 and LitSat-1 result in predictions that are running about 5 minutes behind actual AOS. Hopefully they will be corrected soon. I'm primarily concentrating on LitSat-1 telemetry collection, so don't have anything to add about KituanicaSat-1. 73, Ken, W7KKE -Original Message- From: Bernie and Cheryl Sent: Friday, March 07, 2014 14:11 To: amsat-bb@AMSAT.Org Subject: [amsat-bb] LituanicaSAT-1 Dear OM's and YL's: Being of Lithuanian descent, I really want to be able to access LituanicaSAT-1.
