[amsat-bb] Re: Adding AO-73 to SATPC32 and Nova for Windows
Les, Remember that the Keps are provided from CelesTrak. SatPC32 does not control which source file contains a particular satellite. New satellites normally move over to the regular categories in about 30 days. You can find a discussion of adding satellites to SatPC32 and NfW here: http://amsat-uk.org/2013/11/23/adding-new-satellites-to-satpc32/ 73s, Alan WA4SCA -Original Message- From: amsat-bb-boun...@amsat.org [mailto:amsat-bb-boun...@amsat.org] On Behalf Of Les Rayburn Sent: Thursday, December 19, 2013 3:11 AM To: amsat-bb@amsat.org Subject: [amsat-bb] Adding AO-73 to SATPC32 and Nova for Windows I've been off the air since before Thanksgiving, due to an impossible work and personal schedule. Les, I usually copy the keps I want from the tle-new file and paste them into the amateur keps file. The only problem with doing it that way is that you will have to manually add it every time you update your keps. Dave-KB1PVH Sent from my Verizon Wireless Droid RAZR ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Alan, Are you suggesting that SATPC32 cannot be updated with the various 'objects' that keep popping up, For example, the Funcube web site currently says they believe that AO73 is actually object 2013-066AE. Can that object be entered and selected in SATPC? (I suspect that these minor diffs between what is labeled as AO73 vs. 2013-066AE don't really make any practical difference when using SatPC32 to work the bird) Pls share your thoughts 73, Ted K7TRK -Original Message- From: amsat-bb-boun...@amsat.org [mailto:amsat-bb-boun...@amsat.org] On Behalf Of Alan Sent: Thursday, December 19, 2013 5:39 AM To: l...@highnoonfilm.com; amsat-bb@amsat.org Cc: CC Subject: [amsat-bb] Re: Adding AO-73 to SATPC32 and Nova for Windows Les, Remember that the Keps are provided from CelesTrak. Ted, Please read previous postings by Erich and others on SatPC32 and review the link that Alan provided. It is all there. SatPC32 does what you tell it to do. Nothing more and certainly nothing less. To answer your question, yes SatPC32 an be updated. [amsat-bb] Re: Adding AO-73 to SATPC32 and Nova for Windows
Adding AO-73 in SatPC32 is very simple if you use AMSAT's keps file called nasa.all. This file contains the AO-73 Keps together with the Keps for all the other active ham satellites. The satellite names are already in the familiar format. You can assign AO-73 to one of the 12 quick-access letters on the lower right corner of the main SatPC32 screen. If you have an unassigned letter, open the Satellites menu and simply double-click AO-73 in the Available list, and AO-73 will be assigned to the next unused letter in the Selected list. Paste the following text into the Doppler.SQF text file. Open the file directly from the SatPC32 program using the menu ? - Auxiliary Files - Doppler.SQF. AO-73,145934.0,,USBTLM AO-73,145960.0,435140.0,USB,LSB,REV,,, Transponder Then you're all set to go. With Doppler.SQF text as specified above, the program will default to the beacon. To switch to the transponder you need to click the CAT menu and select the transponder data line. If you reverse the two AO-73 lines in Doppler.SQF the program will default to the transponder instead of the beacon. Wayne Estes W9AE Oakland, Oregon, USA, CN83ik ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org.
