Can you remove wlan-ng modules from device and test? They are awful and
main problem for suspend/resume.

In the x11-image, it turned out the first suspend/resume is not clean
either. Please see the attached dmesg output. Doesn't matter if
wlan-ng modules installed or not.

Re: [Angstrom-devel] New images, call for testers

2007-04-02 Thread Junqian Gordon Xu
The new console-image (in the 04/01 dir) gave the same result. After the
frozen event,
the unit responds to nothing except the suspend/resume button. On the
next press, it generates
gibberishes in the console, which I think is the problem in
suspend/resume itself. With the broken usbnet in Tosa,

I guess there's not much hope to ssh into the console-image?

The new X11-image (in the 04/01 dir) boots fine as the previous builds.

The missing libesd0 issue: ipkg update && ipkg upgrade don't help.
Reported back "nothing to be done".
I had to ipkg install libesd0, which works fine. Some gpe programs (e.g.
keys&buttons) are still broken, as in the latest OZ 3.5.4.2-rc2.

But that's another story.

Wifi works fine, as expected from the latest OZ experience.

suspend/resume had some weird behavior, esp. once docked (may be related
to the broken usbnet). Will describe in more details later.

I'm on vacation tomorrow. Will test more once I get back.

The problem is that libpulse0 (from pulseaudio) claims to provide libesd0. A
'ipkg update

The X11 images boots and log-in fine.

one lib obviously missing in X11 image:
missing libesd.so.0, causing problems for gpe related programs (e.g.,
gpe-conf and gpe-info)
I do find libesd0_20070109-r0_armv5te.ipk

Great: the second CF socket (on the sled) works out of box, which does

The integrity is OK, the problem is that the images seem to be using LZO

Richard do you have a solution for that?

It turns out that zaurus-2.6.conf duplicates a jffs2 commandline which
didn't get an update when I added LZO support. I've fixed it so LZO is
disabled on tosa for now until it gets a more recent kernel.

A new console image is up, x11-image will follow later. I'll have to cross my
fingers,
since I don't have a tosa to test this on.

ixp4xxbe EABI builds now (I added support insane.bbclass), and the
kernel boots but cannot load the rootfs. (I built the mokoslug distro,
which is simply a cut-down Angstrom to fit in 8MB for an NSLU2).

The boot error is recorded in http://pastebin.ca/419510

Also see the cmdline further up that pastebin. The last 3 characters
are truncated from "noirqdebug". This happens on both LE and BE EABI,
but the exact same kernel patches have a correct cmdline on OABI LE and BE.

That error line at the end of http://pastebin.ca/419510 looks really
weird - all those mixed up characters in the libc pathname ..

It seems that the last N characters are being truncated from each string
which is printed. "/sbin/init" is truncated by one character, and the
parts of the pathname of libc.so.6 are each truncated.

Yet the kernel messages are all printed without truncation (including
the panic message in the middle of the /sbin/init error.

I don't know what it all means ... but ixp4xxbe doesn't work at the
moment for this reason at least.

The integrity is OK, the problem is that the images seem to be using LZO
compression for
jffs2, while the 2.6.17 kernel used on tosa doesn't support that.
Richard do you have a solution for that?

Koen,

Could you check the integrity of the jffs2 files and post the md5sum?

I have tried both console and x-11 images. Ended up with the following
error after flashing

JFFS2 compression type 0x07 not available
Error: jffs2_decompress returned -5
kernel panic - not syncing: No init found. Try passing init = option to
kernel

Duh, I guess I saw the "Introduction" too many times and just ignored it.

Why not make a link in the side panel also, as that's where I'm used to
find quick/important links?

Thanks

Koen,

I don't see the Tosa image, which was there previously.

I have OE setup. Do you want me to build a Tosa image myself and test it
at this time or wait for later announcement?

Can you add md5 sums next time?

I think that we do not have to wait for 7.3 because we can provide it as
upgrade in feeds.
