Hii, Can you help me with debugging what's wrong with my arches setup? I have created a gist of what happens when i run install_dependencies.sh https://gist.github.com/hackerutsav/10949412 Also i ran ubuntu precise setup before this command. Hiii I have been reading a lot to get a better understanding of handling complex geometries. As we can see from the Arches developmenthttp://archesproject.org/development/link, Arches is a stack of PostGIS,Geoserver,ExtJS and Openlayers. This Architecture http://i.imgur.com/Ev7uWSJ.png will be best suited to make a complete web app for handling complex geometries. Briefly their functions will be: Postgis: A geospatial database that makes it easy to process spatial geometry data.Postgis has a whole lot of functions that make it easy to support handling geometries and no other database can handle geometrical data better. Geoserver:This is a server which is made for handling map and spatial information. GeoWebCache : This makes it faster to load images by caching the map images GeoExt + Openlayers + Extjs : This is the user interface for the browser which is used for displaying and collecting user from the user. Also i have uploaded my Proposal http://goo.gl/GtuU5u quite a long time ago, which describes the intricacies of my idea. Please provide some feedback. About handling 3d objects,i did some research on that too,i found resource materials to handle that This link http://workshops.boundlessgeo.com/tutorial-lidar/ describes quite intricately how we can enable 3d objects for the above architecture. On the whole, this project seems quite exciting. :) -- -- To post, send email to archesproject@googlegroups.com. To unsubscribe, send email to archesproject+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. I looked up Stonehenge from this url http://goo.gl/w8S2cj and it just seems fascinating to me really how much more we can do with arches. :) As i have set-up arches on my Ubuntu, i found out that Stonehenge has been described vividly by arches and it looks great :) It seems to me it would be a good idea to expand arches to set-up another prehistoric monument.:) I know this wouldn't be easy so i want to divide it into phases: Phase 1: (Must do phase) The minimum i want to do with my project is that i would want to make sure i have a new prehistoric monument with all it's inventories available on arches. Phase 2:(If time permits)This url http://goo.gl/w8S2cj i embedded above in this post also has a street view available.Street view seems a fascinating concept, you can have the actual experience of visiting a site (i)if you use the google street view api(link http://goo.gl/uLrMN1) and (ii)if you can upload panorama pics of the site. So this may seem a little ambitious but if we are allowed to take a panoramic view,it will make google street view possible and make our project look so good. All explained,i do need a prehistoric site to base my project on and i want the forum to decide which site would be the best. :) Cheers :) Utsav On Friday, March 7, 2014 12:33:35 AM UTC+5:30, Alexei Peters wrote: Hi Utsav, I'm having trouble understanding your Idea.
