Hi, I agree with ur points comparing Rahman with Sachin. Also Some commentators saying to sachin that "Form is not permanent but CLASS is permanent" This also applies to Rahman. If u see recent music he hasn't lost his Class of music composing, it's same since Roja i.e. Bass setting,experiments with new singers, melody and great interludes etc.etc. I want to add one line: "U can take Music out of Rahman but not Rahman out of (his) music" Rahman rocks... [arr] Rahman close to my soul!
Hi, I would like to stress that this is only my opinion and i do not intend to hurt anyone in anyway. I agree that there have been a few negative review. But i really think that liking and not liking something is individual. AR Rahman did not call us to get our views when he did Roja either. But it exceeded expectations. And with his way of life and simplicity and of course his music, he has impressed all of us and we all love him. But please do not force music on anyone. People are all different and have their own views. And you cannot keep praising everything that Rahman does. You have to give your honest opinions. I appreciate all those who have given their honest opinions. rahman himself said that 'when you think you have done everything, then you cannot improve'. I have heard that rahman actually reads his fangroup mails, so if people lavish praise, then how the hell is he to know if it is what people expect? And people gave reasons as to why they did not like something, then it gives Rahman a chance to know how much of the audience did not like it. I personally think that it is our duty as fans not only to praise him, but also let him know if we did not like something.And expectations are a normal human reactions. It is not for anyone to intrude on others expectations and interest. If people dont like a particular song or album, they do not hate Rahman. Grow up guys. This is an awesome group. We all love rahman and it is a great way to group us. Let us all have our honest opinions about his music. Anyone who critices Rahman should be thrown out, but lets not blast anyone of in general people who give their honest opinions! What do i think of Ah AAHH? After listening to it about 2 times, i like the title song and mailiragae. And after about 30 hearings, i still like only the first 2 songs. Both are GREAT and AWESOME songs. The others are average songs. But thats me. i cannot force myself to like anything. i can force to give something a million tries but if i dont like it, so what? Rahman is still close to my soul! Hi friends, i think you have selected a hard topic to discuss because i love all the songs of ARR.. and i'm able to find lots of interesting things in every songs of him... at the same time each and every songs have some speciality.. so its very hard to differentiate which one is best,
ONE of the BEST song is Vellai pookkal from Kannathil muththamiddal .. Sung by himself...
another one from the BEST is Enthan thesathin kural from the movie DESAM.

Hi guys, I came espcially from Rance with my brother and his friends all true fans of AR Rahman to see his concert in Wembley arena... and it was amazing!!! superb!! My favorite songs are : nilla kaykirathu from Indira, Uyirae, from Bombay,Laagan ( rahda ka se najalhe, tana thana of Shankar mahadevan )... recently Swades songs are amazing !!! I think the backbone of Rahman's songs are their Interludes. This
makes his music a thoroughly enjoyable. Can u fans tell me which is
his best interlude till date (his all interludes are great , I need
best out of best) His earlier films had some great vocal interludes
but recently I enjoyed the "Kabhi neem neem" alaaps Rahman.
According to me all songs in "Bombay" and "Roja" had outstanding
interludes. Song wise "Choti hi si Asha" and "Roja Janeman" are my
favourite... I think nobody has imagined/expected marvellous "Yeleo"
Alaap in choti si asha that time..

greetings comrades, i am a new member and i wanted to upload some ARRthemes which some fellow fans mite like to have like thiruda thiruda's(CHORCHOR) theme etc but there seems to be no space left for me to upload...I jus wanted to kno whether the moderator keeps clearing out old files to make place for new ones or is there any other system... anyways I ALSO WANT TO ASK IF ANYONE HAS GOT the background piece that plays in YUVA/AYUTHA EZHUTHU(not DOL DOL but the score at the titles of the movies and the one when micheal-surya/devgan beats up those hoodlums in the mall).I really loved those themes and if anyone has it please do upload it OR send it to me. last but not the least, I think the 'MANGAL MANGAL' song(all 3 versions) from MANGAL PANDEY-the rising is a personal high for rahmani mean the song jus captures the essence & theme of the movie and when u hear it with full concentration and no disturbances u can actually feel the patriotic excitement of an impending eruption/conflagration/revolution in the music without destroying its period quality(his modern revolution feel can also be felt in the exceptional DHAKKA LAGA BUKKA/JANAGANAMANA).check it out! I think with this score rahman has proved beyond any concievable doubt that he is the undisputed king when making music for a period movie is the case.wat say u all??? cheerio!!! Not much coverage in the papers - the organisers totally relied on Sony Tv to give coverage, so apart from The Asian Post and BBC Asian netword, no one else was there! Was a brilliant show, but only half the 12000 capacity hall (NEC) was full... Wembley was filled to the brim - 14000 capacity and about 12-13000 turned up! Dhaler Mehndi was a bit mad on stage, but the visuals were fab! No 3D, owing to the situation in Mumbai! ARR had more of stage presence and was wonderful! Yahoo! Hi all, im a new member A few points here. Let's go beyond the usual eulogies to ARR. I guess we are all here because we like, sorry, adore his music. I propose ( if the moderator agrees ) that some activity could be done which adds value to us as individuals... A few suggestions could be 1. Compiling a list of albums, Songs, artists if possible in a database form. 2. Collection of reviews 3. Analysis of music, comparison with others 4. Technical analysis ( if our Violin teacher in the fan club could do something) 5. A top of the tops list by everybody (The Top Ten of ARR) 6. The Grand Top ten ( can be decided by Voting) 7. Mailing ARR himself. 8. The latest news from the Tamil mags It's upto the moderator I guess (Gopal, are you listening) I differ from Srinath's view. Shankar and mani being ARR's best. It's probably a matter of perception. Hi guyz ! i feel that the current crop of youngsters ( 16-22 years) are not that much familiar with arr's music. one's preferences develop when they are in college. today, with vidyasagar, yuvan and harris doing many movies in south compared to arr, the youngsters of today are not much familiar with arr's gems of the 90s. shouldnt we do something (i donno how) on popularising arr among the next genneration. i request ur comments on this. I think Roja and Bombay is Rahman's Best work till date. Becoz they had great tunes and Interludes. My all time favourite song is Roja Janeman and Kehna hi kya..
