Hi Vinod,
Even I was speaking with Shiva @ the Bangalore concert to know about the status... He told lots of investment to do it in a big scale.Only Bharath and Shiva took the initiative.But I will b there to support this project at any time to be a hit coz we all Love ARR that much.
But even I adviced him to start in a small scale with just 100 to 150 pieces and in future do it with a big bang.
Even colllecting money can be made in such a way like the Fans at each and every city can collect their money and a representative can hand it over to the organisers @ Bangalore or anywhere else.
But even this will aid the Fans within India. But this project will be difficult when it comes to international fans (Out of India). Say the courier and other Charges... Moreover if the person is not at his place and if it returns back, Who will be responsible... These sorts of questions came at that time.
So I have given Shiva a suggestion that let us start it in a easy manner of just manufacturing T-Shirts for the Fans in India (INITIALLY) and enhance this is a grand manner in future.?
So I think shiva hasn't decided on this Idon't mind taking the initiatives from my side if they accept my suggestion. And here in Chennai, I have contacts of lots of Fans we can easily pullout things... But the only thing is that we need to plan and start to do the things. If we still keep on thinking, we will be just thinking about the T Shirts
Even if printing is a constraint, we will make it in Thirupoor, which I think will be much cheaper and of Good Quality?
Please pour in your thought about my suggestions... I am very much eager to go with this.

We all know Shridharm, HJ and others had worked for ARRWha i am not clear abt his what is their contribution to ARR songs and t wha extent they contributed to the sucess of the songs. Recently from the discussions here, i had found that ARR early 90s songs had the best sound engineering. I think H.Shridhar was the one responsible..And HJ did some stuff for ARR in the late 90s...I can see a pattern hereHJ seems to have muted athestic as ARR songs adopted this trend in the late 90s IMO i think SHridhar had more dramatic vision than HJ.Undoubtedly Shridhar is the best of them all.. At a personal level, Naushad probably had the biggest influence on ARR as both are deeply spiritual men, thus their emphasis on strong melodies. Yesterday, I was listening to 'Hai Na' and felt certain similarities with the lovely 'Teri Husn ki' from Leader although I can't still pinpoint them at a detailed level. The more obvious ones are the introductions on the santoor (correct me if I'm wrong on the instrument). Coming to Chowdhury's music, I did see Anand once and liked 'Meine Tere Liye,' but did not know it was by him! Although Anand may not be in the same league as Madhumati, after buying the album just now (it's amazing what you can find on the iTunes Music Store!) and listening to the four songs, I can see they are definitely above par in melodic content. I will definitely check out the other movies you had noted as well. Couple of questions for you. 1. What made you attribute 'Anbe' from Rythm to Salilda's style? 2. Can you briefly describe the meaning of 'Uthar-Chadaos? It was intended to the members who would like to explore on ARR pics. Who would like to see more of his pics. There are some unseen pics of his and videos as well. Thats if you do a Yahoo Video search. There are members in this group with Music knowledge which I don't know nothing about. There are people with ICT knowledge (thats a new word for IT).. According to a harris chat long time ago,he worked for ARR for 7 years.at the same time,in ARR interview last year ARR mentioned they hardly worked for 2 albums.Not sure which is which.All i know he was credited for Mudhalvan,an additional programmer for Mudhalvane's song.other than this,i dun think Harris has contributed to ARR's songs.H.Sridar is been with ARR since 1993 until now rite? Surya-Jyotika film pooja in mid air! - 21.11.2005 No way! That can't be! That's what even I thought, but they are sure about it! Did you enquire correctly? It is Surya and Jyotika? This little exchange at AVM Studios had us jerking to a halt. The two men speaking were an assistant director and a production person. When we introduced ourselves, they looked as if they were seeing Abu Salem, so we had to calm them down with some tea and cigarettes. What we gleaned from spending a nominal Rs.14 is that the Surya-Jyotika starrer `Jillendru Oru Kaadhal' is to start soon. For a change, the plan is to hold the film pooja in mid air! Isn't it a bit shocking? No wonder the assistant director and production person were talking in hushed tones when we entered. The director has planned to give the clap for the first shot when flying from Chennai to Hyderabad. The producer also seems to be Ok with the idea. to moderator and other members-- excuse me for digressing...and discussing other composer...i am doing so..because it will give a little understanding to others also..abt yesteryear composers who have, in some way or the other, influenced Rahman..Hi! Dasun,I am glad that you appreciate the music given by the legends of yester-years...looks like you are complete novice when it comes to Salil Chaudhary's music...i hope the link i gave came to some use atleast. Anand is not just abt Maine Tere liye...try listening to "kahi door jab din"...what a fantastic melody it is..the mukhuda itself is enough to captivate the listener... or try "na jiya lage na " from same film..which is tuned in raag Bhageeswari. there are plenty of films of Salilda, in which he has displayed his mastery..like the prelude music for the song "aaha rim jhim ke yeh" from film "usne kaha tha"..it is not a normal brain which can conceive such wonderful stuff..and regarding your query:The song from movie Rhythm is a complex composition...it also has many uthar-chadaos...i mean...u cannot sing that song casually..no straight lines..lot of ups and downs..and influence of western classical is evident..thats why i feel its like tribute to salilda...see the aalaaps in that song...its unusual... by uthar-chadaos..i mean ups-downs of notes..which strains singer/instrumentalist a lot..for eg: take the film choti si baatu have a song by mukesh "yeh din kya aaye"...listen carefully.."yeh din" is on higher notes while "kya aaye" is on lower notes...even when he finishes antharas..the ending is low-scale..and immediately connecting it to lines of mukhuda as "yeh din"..strains composers a lot.. example 2: film "parakh"..song"oh sajna"...follow the sitar notes...they are very tricky..with high scale immediately followed by low scale notes...if a instrumentalist himself finds it so complex..imagine the brain which composed such pieces..thats what Salilda was famous for.Aakarsh.my blog : www.musicmavericks.blogspot.com Dasun Abeysekera [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi Aakarsh!Thanks a lot man, that blog spot is awesome! Later ARR has used the same Dheem Ta Dare tune with LYRICS in the tamil movie Star, songs released in 2001. Who ever may be the Lyricist.. he has done a good job. [arr] Bloody shame what happened to Bose and Meenaxi's music.......
Just revisited these two mindblowing soundtracks from Rahman, and although I enjoy them immensely and can share this enjoyment with likeminded Rahman fans, it's just sad that the powerful music from these two soundtracks never reached commercial success or even critical acclaim, let alone the movie release for Bose! From these two albums..the masterpieces..Yeh Rishta, Desh Ki Mitti, Ghoomparani, Chinnama Chilakamma, Do Qadam, Noor Un Allah, Zikr, Ekla Chalo, Rang He..wow wow wow! The music of Mangal Pandey and Swades received more recognition, and Swades, rightly so, garnered the most success commercially, and is still one of my fav recent albums from Rahman. [arr] ARR RECORDINGS AT LATE NIGHT
Hi we like to know unlike other MDs why the boss always records very late in the night causing inconvenience to others (technicians, instrumentalists singers). Though it is comfortable for him according to himself his own circle of pple, definitely it willnot be comfortable for others whether it is gents or ladies as they have to compromise it like a shift night-duty in other offices. But they are compromising only for the skills of arr. Otherwise if it is any other MD they would turn down the offer of recording late in the night as disturbing their routine habits regular time-table may not be that easy. Why this happens and how a recording procedure begins ends, from composing tunes to calling the singers and the singers who come from outside chennai, how they make it, where they stay. will they spend a day or two for these recordings. Will there be a break (lunch break, snacks break atnightor warming up)between recordings or at one go ? how this happens in case of other MDs? please guys who all know proper informations about these, post your knowledge and views. thanx, cheers wishes raam Yahoo!
