hi Noohu It is not fair to have limitations in names. There is no point to find who is the biggest icon in TN ? In each field, many professionals right from Industrialists, Social workers, Doctors, Educationists, Judges, Artists other than Music, Sports men, Musicians also in Classical & other genres, Classical Dancers and not to leave politicians (who are sincere though few) so many are there who had contributed in their respective field to represent Tamilnadu in the World Map. They are silently achieving their part without showing out much and they are unsung heros & heroines becoz of their limited exposure through media & press. Thats it. So am sincerely not for voting becoz pple who has taken TN internationally are countless. Like ARR there are many hard workers & achievers in their respective fields. Such are his talents and his efficiency as a music director. He dropped in for the launch of Sakkarakatti. This film is to be a mixture of two generation film folks. K. Bhagyarajs son, Shantanu, makes his debut as hero while the director is Prabu, son of noted producer Thanu. Kalaippuli Thanu is the producer. Rahman said that he had known both Bhagyaraj and Thanu and was excited to be part of the project. Rahman had not worked much in the Tamil film world recently. When asked about it he said that the banner and the director were the most important part in a film. He was happy working on Jillendru Oru kadhal, Sivaji and Sakkarakatti. He is also on plans to start working on his devotional album that would be produced and marketed by KM Music. "I love singing for AR Rahman and in Swades there was a bhajan which I sang' which was very lovely. The irony is that it had Shahrukh, it was composed by AR Rahman and written by Javed Akhtar all three are Muslims and the song was on Ram lila. It was much appreciated. And it was a bhajan. The specialty of this song was that it was sung in a hotel room in Panchgani and not in a studio. The shooting was happening in Panchgani and Rahman had come there to make a scratch recording of the song. We were told that he'd make a scratch then the song would be finalized music would be added and then the final recording would be done but the scratch was so good, imagine 15 to 20 people were sitting in a hotel room, it was not a sound proof room. Rahman played the keyboard. Vijay Prakash gave the male voice Ashutosh Gowarikar did the part of Ravana and the scratch was so good that it was used as the final song. Imraan Khan, Aamir's nephew (Nuzhat's son) is being launched by Abbas Tyrewala in his directorial debut titled, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. The film will go on the floors in October. “Actually I was supposed to start the film about a year back, but it got delayed and the producers changed,” says Abbas. “We have finalised Imraan for the film, which is a romantic comedy. It's a simple, though unpredictable, love story. We are yet to cast the lead girl. However, the film stars many newcomers. It will have small cameos by Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak, Arbaaz Khan and Arshad Warsi, among others.” "Imraan has done an acting course. My assistant told me about him, after we had gone through a lot of screen tests for the character. He looked the part and we immediately finalised him," he adds. hi Jugs Were u were out of station for sometime not checking the posts atleast once a week ??? we have talked lot abt our outside man in this inside man and a member even posted the videos of both credits u mentioned. But our dream is not far to see our ARR becoming a "Pied Piper" for these hollywoodians. the day is nearing to make the hollywoods recognise more & more abt indians. honestly our country is conducting many foreign film festivals and award them for select categories. likewise indian films are still to reach them as i feel there should be more indian film festivals being conducted in foreign arena than what is today. that is why this alienation & ignorance. ofcourse one thing should be agreed about the so called duets rounding the trees, mountains, hanging upside down from the bridge and singing without fear? these things make the westerners think silly abt us and not appealing to them. March 23, 2006 Two professors of the Madras University allege that Ilayaraja did not score symphony music at all. This news has created ripples because recently Raja's Thiruvachagam in Oratorio format has become a big hit. The professors, V and Venkatesan of Presidency College and Department of Music have said that Raja had asked the London Philharmonic Orchestra to play under his baton by paying some fee. The professors claim that they have documentary confirmation from the Orchestra. Besides, they also claim that Symphony and Oratorio are not the same. Hence, Raja should come out with an explanation. We do not know the background behind such remarks after such a long time, but let us wait and watch the developments. i think rahman should reduce giving importance to story line.u see most of the hit music is from pure commmercial movies.not many such commercial movies have good & different scripts.if anumalik can give such good music for Mein hoo naa or any recent hit movie u take imagine what rahman can do.i think rahman wants different situations for songs.not the common romantic numbers.he doesnt get such different situational songs to compose for these commercial movies.also for last 5 years i have not seen him working with a new director or with young director(in hindi).hes working with bengal,mani,shankar,asuthosh etc.he should also work with young breed of MDs who have lot of talent in them.i remember the response for nee manasu naaku telusu(E 20 U ..) & boys.from my college mates.most of them loved it & danced to those numbers.so if rahman works for such films more he will reach masses once again.we should not forget that rahman shot fame with such films those days.A swades ,MP,Bose doesnt reach masses as that of commercial films.but i cant understand one thing.he deos that only with hindi films.He chooses such commmercial films in telugu & tamil but in hindi he bounds to script for choosing a film.Also hes costly & takes some time(sometimes).even that is also making some of the new commercial directors not to apprach for him.otherwise who doesnt want rahman to b MD for their film.this is just my opnion of why rahmans music is not at its deserved position & why other MDs getting better sales.
