Hey Duet 1 is Sahana Saral rite so the female singer in the unofficial rlsd one
is Madhushri n the Duet 2 is Vaji Sivaji is Chinmaiye, so wat ur telling is
there's going to be a change in the Female singers also in the original is it.

guess u r wrong abt singers. so far it is definite 100% abt singers... udit
narayan, hariharan, madhusree. with udit it must be chinmayee. sunlight sounds
kunal ganjawala or lucky ali mainly ofcourse blaaze's support be there
female singers no idea in that song. in 2 places we hearing rajini luaghing. so
they will add rajni's name in track. this cause to think rajni sings entire
song. but now no it is not so. spb might be there in unheard track.

1. 'Aarai kodi perkalil oruvan' from 'Ah Aah' (Intro song for Rajini)
2. 'Newyork Nagaram' from 'SOK'
3. Ore Kana En Nenjil - from 'Guru' (Ofcourse there will be a scene in Sivaji
where rajini gets cheated by someone and goes thru' tough time. This song will
suit well) / 'Theeyil Vizhuntha Thena' from GF
4. 'Ilamai' from 'God Father'
All are beautiful songs surprisingly three are sung by ARR. Unfortunately
they did not get much appreciation due to BO failure of these movies. Though
'God Father' did very well in BO, for unknown reasons, Sun Music did not
telecast GF songs.

2007-03-27 Thread Sarathy S
Yah madhushri did not bother to observe sing correctly is something
disturbing. i thought she managed to sing 'vaalhai' in anbae vaaLHai yaedu
properly but lost to azagai saaNAIyidu in beginning lines. definitely she wld
ve erred in singing vaaLHai properly in couple of takes finally corrected it.
if she had sung vaalai yedu with soft 'LA' instead of hard 'LHA' it will suit
her other mistake of 'saaNIyidu' completely the song will sound a comedy
ttrack to suit character paalkaaran in annamalai for the lines will total
relate to maadu (cattle). likewise in the end she sing 'Vennilavai Jagathiyum
aakki it is not jagathi but 'sagathi' - saeru (impure wet mud).

Now Sivaji being so sensational, can we join hands in making this a

What we could do to make it a history? Its the sales of Original
Audio CDs and cassettes. Let's all join hands and turn to
be Marketing Professionals of the audio.

I read somewhere, the best way of marketing a product to reach
people is Word of mouth. Here is how we do

1. Each one of us will buy a original copy of the audio CD /
Cassette.
2. Try not to lend to friends /relatives to listen to it. Rather,
encourage them to buy one.
3. Lets spread the word and market it to our friends, relatives to
buy the original.
4. Gift Sivaji original CDs to friends / relatives...

Comon guys, lets join hands and do it for our Messiah of Music.

I would request, people with music background to analyze the songs,
the use of ragas, instruments, its specialties and post it to the
group. And let's use those facts to encourage our friends and let
them know how special it is to buy a new one.

Please forward it to other Rahman groups that you are a member of.

For those in US, please visit http://www.sivajiusa.com/sivaji/ to
book your audio CD, and tickets for the movie.

Hope the Rahman fans community joins me to make a history.

LETS SPREAD THE WORD GUYS, thats the way we show our love to our ARR.

Long live ARR,

Bergin.

This guys is so obsessed with RHYTHM that he cares about it even in
the spelling of his name. I mean, RAHMAN is one of the 99 beautiful
names of God Almighty and spelling it REHMAN woulnd't make it any
different in it's meaning or character.
But when it comes to ARRahman, the fact that RAHMAN looks more
rhythmic and symmetrical than REHMAN, he prefers RAHMAN :P LOLZ
(I noticed it because i prefer to do the same. I always write him as
Rahman , just like i prefer my name as JAWAD and not Javad or Jawed
which some people might right it as).

Just an interesting point i thought.

Take care.

[arr] I wanted to be part of something bigger - A.R. Rahman

2007-03-27 Thread Thulasi Ram

http://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/tamil/interview/6779.html

I wanted to be part of something bigger - A.R. Rahman Tuesday, March 27,
2007 A.R. Rahman has just released the single Pray For Me Brother and the
song has almost become a rage now, at least amongst those who have been
deeply affected by the huge emotional quotient of the number and are
relating to the stunning visuals of the imaginative video.

In the DVD version of the song, Rahman talks about the project which is
close to his heart and how the entire music and its video took shape. How
did the project happen?

It all happened 3 years back when I was composing for the Broadway version
of 'Bombay Dreams'. There were lots of things happening around with
different kind of music being composed and I was wondering what was I doing?

I thought that I should be a part of something bigger with a human
contribution to the world. I went through a few hospitals in New York,
London, New Delhi etc. and while I was just waking by, I could almost sense
people dying and asking Pray For Me, I am dying or Pray For Me, I Am
Suffering. Immediately I called up Blaaze [co-lyricist and rapper] and
asked him if he could do a song on this concept.

Finally we had a version where it was pretty acceptable and I could relate
to it and Pray For Me' was born. Then we found an extraordinary visionary
in the form of Bharatbaala with whom I had worked earlier on the event of
India's 50th independence anniversary for 'Vande Mataram'.
Purpose of the song Pray For Me Brother

The song is aimed at inspiring the governments and the people to make a
change. This may not happen immediately but at least the process needs to
start now in aid of the United Nations Millennium development goal to
eradicate poverty by 2015
First time a song written in English

The song is written in English since the basic idea of the song came in
English. Also it is supposed to be the international version of the anthem
song. When the song was written, I shared it with a colleague and he came
back exclaiming What a superb line!. When I asked him which one, he said
Are you searching for a reason to be kind. This is it. Instead of ending
the song with Pray For Me Brother, I had the one mentioned by my colleague
as the one which now comes in the end. Somehow now it almost seems like a
perfect ending.
Idea of the video

We were just toying around ideas of what the videos should look like. We
could have gone the serious route by showing miserable people; suffering
people but then that was not the way we needed it to be since this was done
too many times. We wanted more friendly video to be watched by the people.
We jammed and thought around why should the video be shot only in India,
Africa or somewhere else? Why not America? So we selected that as the place
where we could show these huge skyscrapers with signs of modernity and
progress on one end and a beggar on the platform; something that I see in
Manhattan. There was an idea about this couple who are almost splitting and
there the man sees huge hoardings with people with extraordinary expressions
who almost seem to be talking through the pictures. Bala then came up with
some real magical moments!

The video was scheduled at number of places like Manhattan, Tokyo, London
but every time the plan got canceled. Finally got a call and was told that
Pack your bags and catch a flight to LA. I reached there and caught some
eye problem due to which I had to wear specs. Now I am never comfortable
wearing those but was forced to do. so It almost looked like an attitude
with the specs on in the music video but it eventually turned out to be
falling well with the video. Then there was this shoot in the desert and
Bala always likes to put some huge fans to make my hair fly. We didn't need
them eventually since there was a huge storm and made the flow come
naturally.
Rahman's own foundation

Pray For Me Brother' is the first humble step that I have taken in creating
a song in a hope that inspires and changes the attitude towards poor people.

Re: [arr] Sivaji - Song 'Wish' List

2007-03-27 Thread Thulasi Ram

certainly a very good list.

illamai is not by ARR and that's wat kalimuthu told too.

All are beautiful songs surprisingly three are sung by ARR... = 4th not
sung by ARR. i.e. illamai not sung by ARR

sun music would telecast songs only if they like the director or producer or
actor. KS Ravikumar is against SunTV from Thenali. so, sun network wont
telecast any of his songs.

GREAT thing is Sivaji and Vijay Starrer ATM will definitely do good rounds
bcuz SunTV will promote it! bcuz, shankar, superstar and vijay have great
rapport with sun network

This is not a real list, just a wish list. For the past few days I've
been listening to these songs and thinking how great it'll be, if these
beautiful songs are added to Sivaji album.
1. 'Aarai kodi perkalil oruvan' from 'Ah Aah' (Intro song for Rajini)
2. 'Newyork Nagaram' from 'SOK'
3. Ore Kana En Nenjil - from 'Guru' (Ofcourse there will be a scene in
Sivaji where rajini gets cheated by someone and goes thru' tough time. This
song will suit well) / 'Theeyil Vizhuntha Thena' from GF
4. 'Ilamai' from 'God Father'
All are beautiful songs surprisingly three are sung by
ARR. Unfortunately they did not get much appreciation due to BO failure of
these movies. Though 'God Father' did very well in BO, for unknown reasons,
Sun Music did not telecast GF songs.

Re: [arr] A R Rahman and his rhythms

2007-03-27 Thread cyrilthomasvarghese
Hi
I am an A R Rahman fan and also so interested to know whats behind the
making of a song.

Can I know what do you do as a rhythm prorammer?
Can rhythm programming termed as orchestration?
Do you do the whole orchestration of the song?
Have you worked for other music directors?
Do they give any idea of the rhythm to be composed?

Regards
Cyril

It may be the name mentioned in inlay cards have done it or may be
rahman done some outline work and asked those people to work with it...
Its all depend on how rahman let them to do...

[arr] Suggestion for Malaysian ARR's Fans

2007-03-27 Thread murali tharan
Hi,

Im Murali from Cheras, KL. I have a suggestion to share with all Malaysian
ARR's Fans. I suggest that we all go for the Shivaji Movie together for the
first show when its released. Im sure GSC will screen it. We can make
arrangements so that the first show is only for ARR fans n maybe also for
Rajini fans. Exclusive show only for us. We can call GSC office n make a group
reservation. I think it will be fun and will create a platform for all of us to
meet n share our thoughts. I think GSC Midvalley will do that. But one think
all of must make sure to attend the show or buy the ticket so that we can make
payment to GSC before the show. I think no other movie (tamil) do like this
before. maybe we can change it. Please guys..out there whoever staying around
can make effort to arrange it. Maybe people from GSC itself. Do reply with some
feedback.

p/s: I think ARR fans from other part of world can also do the same in ur
area. Gather people, book with theatre n go n watch the movie. Enjoy it.Thanks.

It can be possible because Shankar has many a times used happening singers

Nayak: Hans Raj Hans, sunidhi chauhan
Boys: Adnan sami
Anniyan: Jessi Gift and a dance by yana gupta.

In
Sivaji; why it cannot be himesh.

If it is the case, can we expect ARR's song in Dasavataram.

Great work, Nitin...!!! We've to identify the poeple like this from
our group and start ignoring their comments (not by affending them;
but by not replying / responding to their comments).
See, following are the comments made by SAM (one of our group
member). Many of the movies have got various awards including
National Award. What does SAM think? He is a great critiser or all
others in the country are fools?

SAM, atleast after seeing this mail, please stop making false
comments on ARR and his efforts.

Its true that there are a few people in this group who are in the
group for reasons other than their love for ARR and his music.

Just see a few sample posts by that very same person in the group
before, thrashing each and every ARR album.

I totally agree, Madhushree should not sing in Tamil. Her singing
ruined Mayilirage and Sandai Kozhi (Tamil version of Kabhi Neem Neem)
for me.

Yah madhushri did not bother to observe sing correctly is
something disturbing. i thought she managed to sing 'vaalhai' in anbae
vaaLHai yaedu properly but lost to azagai saaNAIyidu in beginning
lines. definitely she wld ve erred in singing vaaLHai properly in
couple of takes finally corrected it. if she had sung vaalai yedu
with soft 'LA' instead of hard 'LHA' it will suit her other mistake of
'saaNIyidu' completely the song will sound a comedy ttrack to suit
character paalkaaran in annamalai for the lines will total relate to
maadu (cattle). likewise in the end she sing 'Vennilavai Jagathiyum
aakki it is not jagathi but 'sagathi' - saeru (impure wet mud).

ya arun even i feel that.. Madhushree's voice should be
replaced... When it was Kabi Neem(YUVA) she was awesome.. no doubt
but this song... hm no comments... she is not good thats it...
and a sigh relief it is rahman himself singing Sahara... not UDit...
Thanks a million for that decision... 2 reasons...
1.I want Rahman to sing for Rajni which i feel will be great...
 2. Sorry to say Udit's voice is really bad in this song...

Does this report mean that the songs which are dng the rounds are
NOT the draft version, but the originals? Oru Koodai sounds too
plain empty to be the final mix.

On the contrary, If these are draft versions- hope AR replaces
Madhusri wth some oter female singer for the Vaaji song. her
pronunciation and expression sounds very awkward. (No offence meant to
her talent.. she is v talented, agreed)

   Hi all,

according to the english daily The Hindu, the pirated release is
doing more good to the soundtracks than harming since the orders have
increased after people heard the 3 songs. And also the tracks will be
released 2 days in advance. So, it must be on April 2nd.

`Sivaji' soundtrack, no longer a secret
Susan Muthalaly CHENNAI: The soundtrack of Rajinikanth's
`Sivaji' is no longer a closely guarded secret with three of the seven
A.R. Rahman songs available on the Internet. AVM Productions (the
film's production company) manager K. Viswanathan said there were
reportedly about 500 websites from where the songs could be
downloaded. Action awaited
The company has reported the leak to the cyber crime department
and is awaiting action. Due to this development, the movie's music
may hit stores two days earlier than the original launch date of April
4. But thanks to the talented Mr. ARR, AVM has actually recorded an
increase in orders from dealers after the illegal release on the net,
according to Mr. Viswanathan. He said the response was overwhelming
and that the current order figures stood at two lakh CDs and two lakh
cassettes. The songs that can be downloaded online are `Vaaji
Vaaji', `Orukudai Sunlight' and `Sahaan Saaral'.

   tks with regards,
   Amin
