sports, yet he is the same music director who is always lost in the world of
his tunes. When asked about his new look he says that he went to Haj and had
to shave off his head. Besides, his wife liked it and he didn't have any
album to release, so he has let it be as it is.

Regarding his two movies this year - Shekhar Kapoor's Elizabeth and Ashutosh
Gowarikar's Jodhaa Akbar - Rahman says that though both are period films,
yet they are all about human beings. Summing it up he says, "Music has to
reveal the basic human emotions. At the end of the day, it is the human
feelings that matter." When we sought his views on the loud music of
Elizabeth, the music director admits it and explains: It is co-composed by
me. When we started the film it was arty. When I saw the film, I felt it was
dragging. We wanted the music to be pulsating and throbbing to make the film
better." Isn't the music like that of Roja? Rahman quips, "Yes, and from
there on I decided that I should not go below that benchmark. It was
complementary because Roja also got several international awards. Haven't
Tamil films taken a back seat since he got busy with international ventures?
The music director admits it, too. "There was a time when I used to do six
films a year.

Now, I do one or two Tamil and three to four Hindi films a year." Rahman
believes in God and asserts that He controls his life otherwise he wonders
if he would have been able to continue working from midnight till morning.

20, in freezing
Jaipur. Freezing cold notwithstanding, Rajasthan is currently the hot spot for

units from Mumbai.

While Rakeysh Mehra is busy recreating vignettes from New Delhi in Jaipur for 
his new film
Dilli 6 with his lead pair Sonam Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan, debutant 
director Ajit Pal is
busy shooting dramatic sequences in Jaisalmer for his cricket film Victory.

But Harman Baweja and the ‘cricket’ team aren’t shooting cricket scenes in 
Jaisalmer. The game
part of the narration has been canned in Mumbai. “We’re shooting heavy-duty 
dramatic scenes in
the freezing cold, and that too at nights when the temperature in below-Zero,” 
informs Anupam
Kher, who plays Harman’s father.

Earlier he was shooting in equally harsh weather in Kashmir for Santosh Sivan. 
Anupam is all
praise for Harman. “He reminds me of Hrithik Roshan, not just in looks but also 
in attitude and
approach to his work. Like Hrithik, Harman has assisted his father on several 
productions. When

2) Kilzhaku cheemayile : Aathangara marame.
3) Muthu - Oruvan Oruvan
4) Indian - Maya machindra - beginning, barely audible, high pitched.
5) Alai Payuthey - Pachai Nirame _ Sakiye
6) Kadhalan - Urvasi - Marahaba :)
7) Bombay - Kannalane - the sufi style
8) Ratchagan - Lucky Luck - beginning, "love the &**@" ???

You are right buddy. The humming is indeed by ARR.  This is one of my
favourite. Song from ARR. Really a master piece. I still remember the day
when I bought the cassette and listened it. the moment I heard it, I said to
myself "what a crap?" but over the years it just grew on me and it is one
among the few songs that I rated 5/5 in my iPod.

Okay, there are MANY songs where A R R seemingly "lends" his voice 
(many a time in the chorus). Give these a listen.
1. Iruvar, Vidhu Dalai Vidhu Dalai
2. Muqabala you missed the Ole O
3. En Swasa Thirakatha
4. Muthu Kokku Saiva
5. Kizhakku Chemayile Kathazhang (he seems to sing in the chorus 
sometimes, just after the first verse ends for example) WHAT A SONG!! 
thanks to Krish Ashwin, who pointed me the chords in the second verse 
of this song, and the second interlude! PHENOMENAL.

There are MANY, MANY more like this, not all of which I can remember 
off the top of my head. Some subtle ones like number 5 above.. There 
are some in May Maadham I think.
This is where the old timers like Vij or Gopal can show off as 
well ;)

dekhke hairaan hai, phool se khushboo khafa khafa hai gulshan mein, 
chhupa hai koi ranj(?) fiza ki chilman mein, saare sahan nazaarein 
hain, soye soye waqt ke dhaare hain, aur dil mein koi khoyi si 
baatein hain" is the song :).. The bass pulls are awesome. Isn't 
Sonu.

Also, the word is "Sehmay" not "Sahan".. I doubt that it is either
Shafqat or Vishal. Sounds a lot like Sonu Nigam.. It's not Murtuza or
Qadir either, so it's a surprise I guess.

expectations from this album,but after delhi concert..after hearing amazing 
Mahrabaa and now this wonderfull Kehne ko jashn-e-bahara hai,something in me 
says that this rahman's album is gonna be right at top as one of Rahman's best

[arr] JA trailer with TZP

[Triply R.]

Saw the premier show of TZP at PVR Bangalore Thursday
evening. They showed a lenghty trailer of JA. It was
absolutely amazing! It really pumps you up for the
movie. Watching it on the big screen is an event!

They play Azim-O-Shaan in the background and there are
dialogues and stuff. Lots of scenes of preparations
for battle and 2 huge armies. No actual fight scenes
shown though. They show Hritik battling an elephant,
but not in the actual war. I think it was some test or
something.

The movie has some great actors in it, like Kulbushan
Karbanda, Sonu Sood and Surendra Pal. The release date
was advertised as 25th Jan. 

As for TZP, it is really great. Aamir is a good
director. He handled the subject and the children very
well. Watch it!!

Hi ARR Fans,

I thought that I should share this. It's been 4 years but I just remembered 
that I did not share this earlier. 

21st Nov 2003 (Friday) was my wedding day. It's an unforgetable day and there 
are no words to describe the joyous moment, plus to add more was the music that 
was aired and surrounded the hall.

Yes, my wedding hall was filled with ARR musics and not forgetting the theme 
song was 'Wedding Qawwali' from Bombay Dreams. The song was aired when me and 
my wife walked down from our Wedding stage to the Dinner hall. Everybody stood 
and claped with joy all the way. For many, the music was new and did not stop 
talking about it.

I was just listening to it and thought of sharing with you loyal ARR fans!

Jodha Akbar, were very "tricky" with regard to audiences accepting it.

Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan are playing the lead roles in the movie.

Responding to a query that films like Asoka have not gone onto become hits
in recent times, she said "at certain times certain films do well...certain
films do not do that well. It's a very tricky thing."

The daughter-in-law of Amitabh Bachchan, said working for the Hollywood
movie Pink
Panther was a fantastic experience . "There were so many stars...it
was
really an amazing experience," the actress said.

Aishwarya, who is married to Abhishek Bachchan, said, "I am enjoying my
current phase in life. Being married...it's an incredible thing in life."

Asked about one memorable moment during the shooting of the song Tere Bina
in Maniratnam's Guru here, she said, "we shot the song all night. Mani
wanted to shoot songs at daybreak and he wanted the

be taken in one-take."

She also said she would love to do more Tamil films. "There's a lot of
talent here that I would love to work with. But the possibility of accepting
