[arr] Roja title song humming by Chitra or Sujatha?

2009-03-11 Thread rivjot
I was watching this video in which Sujatha Mohan said that her first song with
Rahman was hummimg in Roja title track. Whereas it is Chitra credited on covers
(Hindi CD).

or was it that Chitra's hummimg was used in Hindi version and Sujatha's humming
in Tamil version..

To make it even more confusing, it was Sujatha (not Sujatha Mohan) who hummed
at LA Concert

who actually was the singer? they all sound the same to me :/

Another thing I want to be cleared is between Sujatha vs Sujatha Mohan vs
Sujatha Trivedi vs Sujatha Bhattacharya vs Sujatha Goswami vs Sujatha Majumdar

I have seen Sujatha and Sujatha Mohan. I know Sujatha Bhattaycharya is
Madhushree. Sujatha Majumdar is singer of Delhi-6 (is she different one?)
Sujatha Goswami never sang for Rahman, so I guess she is someone else. Who is
Sujatha Trivedi - Is she Sujatha?

If rumors are true (according to rumors movie is releasing on May 1st), then
I'd say expect audio release during last week of March/early first week of
April.

[arr] Brand Rahman goes sky-high

2009-03-11 Thread russel_mohammed

After winning two Academy Awards, AR Rahman's brand value has
skyrocketed to Rs.10 crore. Sources in the industry are saying that the
Indian composer and musician has recently bagged an offer from Apple for
this sum, which insiders indicate is around Rs.8 crore more than what he
was getting previously.

A source told the DNA, "It is being hugely gossiped in the circuit that
Rahman is being offered by international companies a sum of something
around Rs.10 crore. He certainly has become the most sought-after celeb
in the ad world if he is getting such a high figure. The Oscars is the
reason behind this."

However, a close aide of Rahman states, "This news is highly
speculative. It is true that Rahman is associated with Apple, but that's
because T Selvakumar (who is the managing director of Rahman's KM Music
Conservatory) is associated with Apple." Meanwhile, AR Rahman featured
on the Filmfare Power List at No.8.

[arr] What to expect from 'Blue' music?

2009-03-11 Thread rivjot
Honestly, every time I think about upcoming Blue's music, I go blank. I have no
clue what type of music its gonna be. Neither I have out of the world
expectations.

Kinda had same feelings for 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' and 'Slumdog Millionaire'
last year when we didnt know what to expect.
Hopefully Blue will also surprise us like previous soundtracks.

I personally dont like Atif, although I loved his first couple of songs from

that its not his real voice, Pritam (music director) alters his voice with some

[arr] Music gives hope in the middle of darkness

2009-03-11 Thread Chord
Evil deeds and hard times have always been around. However, they seem to be
more salient recently with the bad economy, terrorist attacks and threats,
recent murderous shooting rampages in the US and Germany, etc. etc. Life to me
is full of dualitieslight/dark, evil/good, hope/despair, night/day, etc.

As I listen and re-explore the vast ecyclopedia of ARR's music, hearing the
various world musical genres in fusion, co-existing and harmonizing peacefully
within a single song or album, the symbolism of that fusion and peaceful and
celebratory co-existence struck me as so important in a time when hatred,
ignorance, poverty, and violence threaten our very well being and lives.
Hearing ARR's music helps me to think about all the varied, colorful, beautiful
world cultures that surround us and the importance of maintaining peace and
harmony for our well being. As I've said before, his music represents the best
of humanitycolorful, vibrant, tolerant, peaceful, going beyond artificial
boundaries.

There are only a few things in this life, in this world right now that are
giving me hope for a better future for humanity. ARR's music is one of those
things. At the risk of sounding ideal and naive, why can't we live peacefully?
Why can't we raise our children with peace and tolerance, teaching them good
valuea that promote peacful co-existence and tolerance with different people
and cultures? I know it's complex and it's a problem that won't just go away by
itself.

ARR's music to me represents so much much more than just immediate
entertainment and mood uplifting. The philosophy behind his music, his message
has never been more important to embrace than now.

God, save us from ourselves and may peace be our future.

[arr] Yanthram’s signature song in grandeur

2009-03-11 Thread Vithur
Yanthram’s signature song in grandeur IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, March 11,
2009]

Shankar’s ‘Yanthram’ is shaping up in fantabulous style with the filmmaker
crafting and etching every nuance of the piece of work to perfection.

Superstar Rajinikanth is the man and machine, with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as
the lead lady to be romanced by both these characters; AR Rahman has
composed a spectacular signature tune for the film.

With directors busy in discussing the storyboard for the film, Shankar
sticks to his habit of preparing a storyboard for the songs too! During the
time, the crew including art director, cinematographer, music director and
lyricist will sit in to discuss apt musical style, breathtaking sets, junior
artists’ costumes to match the backdrop, props and so on…

‘Boom Boom’ in ‘Boys’, ‘Randaka’ in ‘Aparchithadu’ and ‘Vaaji’ in ‘Sivaji’
are some of his master piece signature songs in the past. Rahman has
composed a similar song for ‘Yenthram’ sung by Madhushree, who crooned for
‘Vaaji’ which will be canned in grand sets erected at Hyderabad film city.
Under the direction of art director Sabu Cyril, the magnificently grand prop
has been custom-built.

More than a 1000 junior artistes clad in silver robot costumes will be
featured in the number. Sounds quite grand, indeed! True Shankar style…

[arr] An Opening Song like never before

2009-03-11 Thread Vithur
*An Opening Song Like Never Before*

Endhiran, a film which has the real biggies of the industry Shankar,
Rajinikanth, A R Rahman and Aishwarya Rai will have a never before kind of
opening song that would be shot at the expense of Rs. 3 crores.

Opening songs became a sensation in Rajini's films post 'Annamalai' and it
has become a trend to have a memorable opening song in almost every
commercial film. Shankar has planned to make the opening song of his big
budgeted movie at an unbelievable cost of 3 crores rupees. Usually Rajini's
opening song will not feature the heroine. The songs in Annamalai, Basha,
Muthu, and Arunachalam had Rajini being the single focus. Even in Shivaji,
it was Nayantara, who danced with Rajini and not Shriya Saran, who was
actually the heroine. In Endhiran, however, the high profile heroine
Aishvarya Rai is going to add grace with her presence in the opening song
along with the superstar.

The song, slated to be shot in a mammoth set designed and created by Sabu
Cyril in Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad, will have as many 1000 dance
artistes dancing along with the lead pair. According to sources, the song
will be shot for full three days. A.R. Rahman himself is going to render his
voice along with Madhu Shri for the song.

i want to see these singers in ARR's albums:

1.Madhumitha (excellent voice)
- so far she never sang any full fledged song for ARR.She has only sang bits
and chorus in his songs so far. She is the beautiful voice behind some tracks
in Slumdog Millionaire.

2.Saindhavi
- last we saw her in ARR's song was Kelaamal - Azhagiya Tamizh Magan. What a
voice sooo freshh!!!

3.Sriram Parthasarathy - again, his voice has something magical. the 1st and
last we saw him singing in ARR was in Kelaamal - Azhagiya Tamizh Magan as well.

4.Anupama
- what ever happened to her??? its really a pity to see she got branded as a
singer for fast paced numbers. When she sings a melody, her voice is sweeter
than most the singers that we have now. dun believe me? listen to
"Eechankathille - V.I.P". I salute Ranjit for showing that beautiful side of
hers in that song!!! Rahman ,please please make anupama sing melodies in ur
songs... it would be perfect!!

5.Chitra Sivaraman
- what ever happened to this excellent singer?? i cant 4get her voice in the
song nethikitten and alle alle. ohh please some 1 get her back!!

6.Mukesh
- The "theekuruvi- KKS" fame. he should sing more songs for ARR. very smooth

In ARR's website there is an option for ARR's foundation and there one has an
option of how we can help ( join hands) ... but further to that ..we have no
information. Would be glad if someone can say how we can be of help to the
foundation

Thanks in advance

There was a video when AR spoke after receiving cheque from Gopal.
Then he thanked for the kindness and said, not to collect money anymore for AR
Rahman foundation and cpntinued saying, he himself is putting money in the
foundation. So i guess Gopal didnt continue that as it was AR who asked not to
do.

Rahman himself doesn't expect any monetary contribution from his fans. The

I appreciate your idea. You could  start something, like Vithur and group did,
rather than wait for others.

Money is the least important resource, time and will are more important. There
are so many things we could do even without money.

Gopal, When i was going through the old messages in this group, i came
across the collection that you did for ARR Foundation and gave him the

cheque on his birthday. Why didn't you continue that? Did you do that
just for one year? Any reason for dropping that idea?

Sath.

something. if somebody ready to manage the trust, i assure that i will
give atleast Rs.100/-per month. If we give Rs. 10/- per month it will be
a huge amount when lot of our members follow this.(1000X10= 1)
