Gops, you said it ! I think that will clear all the doubts to the people
who ask for Sivaji Hindi, Boys Hindi, ARR BgM Cd's etc. Except we people,
I don't think any other normal guy will buy a dubbed version of Blue
or Hindi version of Sivaji.

[arr] Re: Blue Telugu

2009-12-29 Thread Rivjot
If I am not wrong, ARR also has copyrights to songs that he composes. Cant they
be released on KM Musiq label? Why cant there be limited number of copies
released (by either T-Series or KM Musiq or other companies)?

Numbers of you gave for Slumdog are indeed quite shocking. It is also true that
songs are easily available to download for free on several forums (blogs,
torrents etc), also heard something like 15 soundtracks are getting released on
1 mp3 CD for 10-15 Rs in India - this sort of piracy is truly killing music CD
sales.. and from my prospective, I havnt seen anything solid from music
companies to stop this piracy.. actually I kinda noticed that situation has
become worse as this web world has progressed in recent times.

So may be what can be done is not to produce original copies blindly, prices
for original CDs can also be decreased (to encourage people to buy original ..
though I personally dont complain about the price) and for outdated / flop /
old movies - release limited number of copies. RPG / Saregama has set a good
example for initiative. From time to time they have been coming out with old
Hindi soundtracks, they do know that the sales wont be great - hence they make
limited number of copies so that they dont get any lose.

Btw I really appreciate that you replied!

I agree entirely with what Gops said. It's a sad reality that the market for
cds is dwindling. Digital releases seem to be the way out and we should be glad
for it. Besides it's easier to release things on schedule this way.

I hope that with the low entry cost in the future we can have digital releases
of scores. Try to remember how many scores were promised a cd release and they
never materialized (Provoked, Mangal Pandey, Sivaji, Rang De Basanti).
Perhaps things will be different now.

You got one part of the answer right, not the other part. The reason is
definitely financial but it's financial feasibility and not financial
challenges. The age of the CD is over. A market like India was never even
there. The advent of unrestrained mp3 sharing on the internet and the rise
of the CD as a medium coincided in India.

Let me give you a statistic, shocking but true. How many CDs of Slumdog
Millionaire do you think T-Series sold in India? All of 60,000. And T-Series
printed Over 500,000 copies. For all the chest beating that we do on forums
like this, the reality of the day is that nobody pays for music anymore. Who
in his right mind would want to invest in manufacturing and distributing CDs
upfront in such a market scenario? How many CDs of the Telugu dubbed version
of a massive flop do you think will sell? 1000? Can you blame T-Series for
not releasing the CD? Music labels make money only off mobile ringtones and
ringback tones and TV and FM licensing in today's world. Whatever CDs they
do release is purely promotional expenditure, it generates paltry, if any,
income for them.

There is minimal upfront cost in distributing mp3s through the likes of
Amazon. That is the route any sensible business would take. I would be
thankful that T-Series is at least progressive enough to provide us with
that option rather than not release anything at all.

[arr] Anything for A R Rahman-- Nauheed Cyrusi

2009-12-29 Thread Bivin Chandra
Pretty actress Nauheed Cyrusi declares her open admiration for A R Rahman by
blindly signing for a film and thus has enlisted herself in the long list of
Rahman fans.

Apparently, Nauheed signed a movie titled Ada...A Way Of Life only for A R
Rahman, for Rahman has scored the music and has also sung in the film.

Explains Nauheed, “A R Rahman is the best in the industry today. He is a
maestro and my presence in Ada...A Way Of Life is only because he has scored
music in the film. I have been his all-time music-listener.”

She goes on to add, “’Hawa’ is my favorite song in the film which I feel can
count as one of the best work of Rahman and I am sure audience will love it.
Ada...A Way Of Life unfortunately is not able to see the light of day due to
some issues. However, I am awaiting its release especially for Rahman’s music.”

2009-12-29 Thread Rivjot
Can we please know the reason as well?

Alright, I am waiting for pirated songs then!!! (because neither that phone is
available in my country, nor I am interested in buying that phone as I am happy
with my iPhone 3GS). When Blue songs were released on those flash drives / SD
Cards, even Rahman was aware of the fact that they were 192 kbps CBR quality
songs (not .wav files or CD quality), and now how can we be satisfied with
phone quality
ARGHHH This is VERY VERY frustrating.

I agree with Satheesh that there should not be a long gap between the audio
launch and the release of physical CDs. Right now the producers must take
immediate steps to release the CDs asap. Even the die-hard fans of AR like us
have been impatiently awaiting the CDs.

actually if the so called 'leaked' song is what he is referring to then its
most certainly from his unit. Because it may not be the final mix but rather a

way too much every time.

Gautham film's songs generally takes time to grow. We all already knew about
our ARR songs takes time too..

When VA released how many of you liked HJ songs in it. once the film got
released, the songs grew and became a hit all over. Same with the case of GM's
VV.

Same will happen with VTV. Hope for the best. Please wait for the whole album
to come out in the market before putting our points and views (for or against
it :-) )

Guys chill out...

Heard just 30 sec and there we go.. We ARR fans are so demanding and expecting
way too much every time.

Please wait for the whole album
to come out in the market before putting our points and views (for or against
it :-) )

Thanks

producers of the film have further advised warning to all those who are
