All know that Rajini launched the movie JAGGUBHAI in 2004 with KSR as 
director and ARR as MD. Infact ARR himself comfirmed that he composed 
a song for that movie. But since the movie was shelved, ARR used the 
song in AH AAH - ANBE AARUYIRE.

ARR compensated KSR for this shelved project by working in GODFATHER. 
The movie took ages to see lights and ultimately the qaulity music 
for that movie went unnoticed.

Anyway, with regards to the current version of JAGGUBHAI with Sarath, 
I think its not worth doing a movie that gonna be a political 
propaganda (whatso ever be the original storyline).

[arr] Really Excited about the back to back Releases

Its been ages since we last saw a back to back ARR album releases. 
During the time where we get only 2 or 3 ARR releases a year and a huge 
gap between 2 releases its really a double delight for fans with the 
release of ADA and JTYJN. Actually I really can't remember when was the 
last back to back releases. Maybe during his earlier days where he used 
to have 3 releases duing Diwali season. Can someone comeup with a list 
of ARR's back to back relases?

Tamil JA has some cute lyrics and should say they have done some decent 
work with regards to a dubbed version. Especially, it goes well with 
the melodieous tunes. Also, ARR's idea to use singers like Chitra, 
Srinivas and Karthik has done wonders.

No one can replace any one. IR was not a replacement for MSV, ARR was 
not a replacement for IR. Similarly, YSR is not or cannot replace 
ARR. There is no replacements for legends and one can't be compared 
with other. YSR should stand on his own.

ARR's 2nd movie was a malayalam one. I don't remember the movie name in 
malayalam but was released as "Ashokan" in tamil. It had Mohanlal and 
Madhubala in lead.

Such foreign language lyrics has to lifted from somewhere. They can't 
go for a spanish lyric writer, explain him the situation, give him the 
tune and ask him to write the lyrics like Vaali or Vairamuthu. Its been 
happening for ages. They r used more as sound effects rather than as 
lyrics.

Oh man, what a song, what a voice. I have no words to describe it.

The so called CD cover with AVM Musik label is not that impressive, 
even ayngaran's release version cover looks better. I hope this is just 
the 3D sticker (maybe such colours and backdrop r ideal for 3d/hologram 
stickers) and not the actual CD/Audio Cover.

[arr] There is no more the same old fun & excitement of audio releases

There use to be a time, when there were no big audio release 
functions, audio hits the stands silently. But some how fans get to 
know abt the audio release details. At the same time there use to be 
a lot of excitement while grabbing a copy of the audio b'coz it is 
only at that instant we get to know how many songs or who is singing 
and other such details. And then breaking the seal and listening to 
the songs 1 by 1, is a great experience. 
It is a well known fact that it was ARR who initiated the audio boom 
in tamil industry. And others started capitalizing it. We can say 90s 
was a golden ers for tamil audio industry, especially 98-99 when all 
MDs were at top form (ARR had nearly 8 tamil releases that season). I 
sure all audio buyers of 90s would have felt the same excitement.
Now, though we have hi-tech facilities, we don't have the same old 
excitement. Songs gets leaked b4 release, pirated audios and mp3 hits 
the stands. Poor audio investers, they find is difficult even to take 
back their money. 
But even at these hard conditions Rajini's movie or it's audio 
maintained those sort of excitement. But in the case of Sivaji, the 
excitment is only going to be half. B'coz half of the album is out 
already. But still I am pining up hopes for the other half and also 
expecting some more programming in the leaked songs.
But what ever be the case, we don't get to feel the some old 
excitement that use exist in mid 90s.

[arr] I still believe there is a suprise packet awaiting for the fans.

According to 1 report, it seems Shanker has plans to have few songs
(maybe appearing in the audio) and scenes that will not be a part of 
the movie. They will be used for promotion of the audio-movie and give 
a different idea about the final output. Their intensions are to 
suprise the fans when the hear the actual audio and watch the actual 
movie. If my calculations are correct then I feel that these 3 tracks 
have been deliberately released by AVM & Co to make the fans April(4)
fools. If my calculations are wrong then it AVM & Co who are going to 
be April fools.

[arr] There could be a suprise in the "Sunlight" song when the actual album is out.

Ofcourse, I admit the fact that this 40sec sample is from the movie 
Sivaji (This time around the fourms have something really from Sivaji, 
and not a fake one). But we can expect some suprise when the album is 
out. According to the intial reports, this was the song that was 
composed by ARR with his laptop. The song was composed tentatively for 
the shoot to go ahead on time. It was also said in the report that ARR 
was asked to work on it with some more additional programming. So, I 
feel that this sample is the tentatively made piece and not the final 
output. Maybe, I could be wrong also.

and ARR's work been prised. Its time now to focus on next releases. So,

During 1994-95, there use to be 6-7 hindi songs inspired by Muqala 
Muqabula within a same countdown episode in Hindi channels like ZeeTV, 
JainTV etc. When Kadhalan was dubbed into hindi, the original Muqala 
Muqabula took the No.1 spot while the other inspired songs took the 
succeeding spots. Those days the whole countdown show looked like a 
Muqala Muqabula Special.

Anu Malik was taking abt this in frustration in a interview during 
that season, where he stated that all directors-producers come to him 
and ask to compose a item song in their movie with Muqala Muqabula 
tune. He was also taking abt using Ottagatha Kattiko tune in the hindi 
movie THE GENTLEMAN, and said that ARR was informed abt the usage of 
the tune and was given credits.

It may be possible. Usually Mani sir finishes off the talkie portion 
quickly. But he takes time for song picturisation and post production 
work. It should be mentioned here that he finished off both AE and 
Yuva in 8 months time. So if not June-July may be Aug or Sep. One more 
thing, Aamir Khan says that Mani sir had signed him and shoot will 
start in Oct, so possible.

[arr] ARR needs to concentrate on BGMs in Tamil movies

In past few tamil movies, ARR's BGM work was average. He mostly 
reworks the song tunes and present them in instrumental form. I 
recently heard the 14 additional tracks from Ah Aah. I am sad to say 
there was nothing special in them to release it in audio form. There 
was only 1 theme which keeps repeating nearly 10 times. The remaining 
were instrumental versions of the song.
When HJ and YSR are receiving good review for their BGM work, its sad 
that ARR lags behind in that dept for the past 2-3 movies.
At the same time ARR is ROCKING in hindi movie BGMs. This may imply 
that ARR gets less time to work on BGMs for tamil movies.
Its hope ARR to ROCK with tamil BGMs too in upcoming movies, 
especially Sivaji. ARR has always done decent job for Rajini movies. 
No 1 can forget the "Oongal theme" in Padayappa. And I really admired 
his BGMs in BABA. He has really done great job even though he was not 
given enough time for that.
Some recent articles stated that ARR is keen to rock in all depts in 
his upcoming movies. Lets hope for the best.

Lagaan was a big hit in TN. Did good business even in B and C centers. 
Audio too was a hit. So, there wasn't any need to dub the movie into

Hi all,

Recently some Tamil mag carried interview of ARR, where he had talked 
a lot abt his future tamil projects. He particularly mentioned abt 
SIVAJI and said that he will surely ROCK for this ARR-RAJINI-SHANKAR 
combo movie. It is also said into song has been composed and has come 
out very well.
Is there any chance that this song to be aired during the pooja of the 
movie? Ofcourse this not usual in film industry but that happend once.
Aalavandhan into song sung by SM was aired during its lanuch function.
Can we expect the same, might be a thrilling teaser with rocking bgm?

Rajini doesn't talks ill of anyoneand that too in a public function. 
He might have said that statement just to praise the MD Vidyasagar.
ARR has lots respect towards Rajini and it is only for Rajini that 
ARR has scored music in a fast pace for all the 3 movies. There 
might have been some sort of hiccups during BABA, but Rajini was 
well aware of ARR's busy Bombay Dreams schedule.
ARR's fan no need to take this speech of Rajini seriously.

[arr] Lagaan was shown in Australian Television on Sunday Nite

Lagaan was shown in an Australian Television channel called SBS, on 
sunday nite. It was nice to watch the movie after a long time. Also 
movie was shown for straight 3.5 hrs without any break. Thankgod. When 
Lagaan was shown in Sony TV for 2002 Diwali, it took nearly 6hrs to 
complete the movie.

U r true, Kamal always prefers IR. Its not that he just sidelines ARR, 
but also other MDs too. It seems Kamal always recommends IR as first 
choice. The remaining is left to the Dir- Pro. Even for his next film, 
he has 1st recommended IR, but since the Dir wanted HJ, he couldn't do 
much on that issue. But if its his home production, there will be no 
one else then IR. But it is said that, Kamal is not that comfortable 
with ARR, b'coz ARR just listens to what the dir wants and not to what 
the actor wants.
With Rajini, the matter is different. Rajini does everything in a 
business pt of view. If it is outside production, he never comes into 
the way Dir-Pro decision. When it is his home production, he thinks in 
a business pt of view. Rajini movies does good in Overseas too, and 
our ARR too has simillar overseas fans. I heard ARR too enjoys 
simillar popularity in Japan as Rajini enjoys. Also, ARR is kind with 
Rajini and ready to give tunes within the time he asks for. ARR gives 
catchy tunes with modern touch which Rajini's fans like. So factors 
like this make Rajini to pair up with ARR in regular interval of time. 
Hope, soon ARR score music for a Rajini movie.

[arr] Was the lyrics of "Anbe Aaruyire" written for ARR's Tamil comeback?

I don't know in what situation does the song "Anbe Aaruyire" comes in 
the movie AH AAH, but the lyrics of that song looks as if that it is 
written to showcase the comeback of ARR. Phrases like "Aadiaan 
Tamilian, Naan ungal Nanban", "Neegal ellamal naan engu ellai" and 
full of Charanam showcases the fact.
After a long time we have got a ARR song which makes us to get up 
early in the morning especially to hear the song that too repeatedly.
In the 24hr of the audio release i have heard "Anbe Aaruyire" 50 times.
I can't be alone without hearing that song.

I have no words to describe the album expect AH AAH. Mind blowing, 
especially the track sung by ARR, sure its the song of the Year. 
Follwoing the mixed response for THE RISING, sure there will be no 
complients this time. Full marks to ARR.
Though Tamil ARR fans ever eager for this album, which was due the 
reason that he didn't have any tamil release for nearly 14 months, 
many were not then keen with ARR's association with SJ Surya. Many 
were not that satisfied with NEW and also didn't expect anything 
ROCKING from AH AAH. 
But such negative publicity has favoured this, no would have 
expected such a GREAT album from ARR-SJS pair. Even while hearing 
the songs in trailer, it didn't sound impressive, but hearing the 
full tracks, we keep saying ah aah.
Definitly, AH AAH will end up in ARR's all time best list.
This album will prove advantagous for up coming movies like 
Godfather, which is running with problems. 
Also, it was nice to hear from ARR itself that no more Period Films 
for time being and all upcoming will be commercial. ARR is a bit 
disappointed that his hard work are not well picturised and going 
wasted as background.
The main reason for ARR to continue his association with SJS, is the 
wat he picturised NEW songs. It seems ARR was very much impressed 
with his work, when other dir letdown ARR's work on screen. It seems 
ARR is gelling well with SJS, and soon we could see another 
successful pairs like ARR-Mani, ARR-Shankar etc.

[arr] ARR - "Rajini of Tamil Music Industry"

1st of all I need to mention abt THE RISING. Many say that they were 
disappointed the the tracks of THE RISING.
I too felt the same initially. But on repeated hearing, its growing.
This is not new with ARR albums. Infact ARR late growing tracks 
becomes more successful then the catchy songs on 1st hearing. Some 
have already stated how the songs are growing on them even though 
they had initial disapointments.
But i am afraid with the fact that, "will such late growing tendency 
will be helpful in the current dull music market?"
But, It looks this the rite time for ARR to hit back in Tamil. He is 
currently involved in few commercial film in Tamil, unlike hindi 
where he has a long line of off-beat movies.
Some recent articles said that tamil music industry is in a bad 
shape rite now. Only Chandramukhi managed to sell few lakh copies 
and that too because of Rajini's star value and not because of 
Vidyasagar.
As, ARR is the "Rajini of Tamil Music", I feel he could bring back 
the lost glory of Tamil music industry. I hope all ARR fans r 
determined to buy the original stuffs and bring profit to the rights 
holder.
Last year was a black mark for ARR as there were no takers initially 
for AE and NEW. But later it proved to be profitable for the rights 
holder. Ofcourse, the audio rights price is not as high as it used 
to be in 1999-2000. I feel BABA was the highest as its audio rts 
were sold for 2C. It is sad to hear that, even if the songs are hit 
and popular amongest the public, the originals just remains in the 
store rack. I feel this should not happen to the up coming ARR 
albums.

hi all,

Reports are coming that the tamil music industry is at all time low.
It says, only CHANDRAMUKHI audio has preformed well in the market, 
that too not bcoz of the MD, but due to Rajini factor. It also says 
that ANNYIAN is struggling at the music shop racks. Usually, the audio 
of ARR-Shankar combo sells more than a lakh copies within first 2days. 
The tamil music industry is not at low this year alone, but things 
started sliding from year 2001. Also that was the year when ARR was 
busy with BOMBAY DREAMS and working with less tamil projects. But even 
during the bad patch, the audio of BOYS had same response as other ARR-
Shankar combo had. Infact the audio company STAR MUSIC played safe by 
not doing mass production and released just 6 copies. But all sold 
out quickly and they had to produce more according to demand.
Our ARR is like Rajini. With CHANDRAMUKHI's success, Rajini has given 
some sign of relief to distributors, exhibitors and other related 
professionals. Similariy, when ARR returns back with Ah AAh and GF, he 
will bring back the glory. But ARR should have tamil release in 
regular intervals so that audio companies can survive. In current 
situation ARR can't alone fight the issue. Though, credit for CM's 
success is given to Rajini, there are also other factors like the Govt 
policey to help producers in tackling piracy. Simillar law should come 
for audio piracy too and mp3 sites should be blocked atleast in 
india.

[arr] Re: wat happened to rahman's "ENGINEER"

As many of ARR fans know that, ENGINEER was a movie started way back 
in 1997 by Shankar's asst Gandhi Krishna, starring Arvind Swamy and 
Madhuri Dixit. The movie was 90% by 1998-1999, but dir and producer 
had misunderstanding and the movie shelved.
Last yr the dir had a movie CHELLAMAE, which had decent run. After 
that, it seems he has planned to restart ENGINEER with Surya in lead. 
But no info abt that matter after that.
