Watching ARR holding the Grammys, i got so excited yesterday that i wrote a
poem on him with the help of the titles of few movies done by him.. I dedicate
this poem to Rahman sir and all my beloved Rahmaniac brothers and sisters..!!
so here's my poem with translation:

THE LEGEND OF RAHMAN

Rahman ji, Rahman ji, aap hi ho suron ke sartaaj,
Aap hi to GODFATHER  ho humaare,
Aap hi ho humaare YUVRAAJ.

Suna humne aap hi ko sadaa,
Bha gayi humein aap ki har ek ADA .
BOMBAY se lekar DELHI-6 tak ghumaaya aapne,
BLUE ko BULLU kehna sikhaaya aapne.

Zindagi ki iss DAUD mein
aap hi bane humaare SAATHIYA,
Chal padi geeton ki aisi FIZA,
Jiske aage na tik paaye aandhiyaan.

Banke YUVA aapne sunaayi humein
MANGAL PANDEY ki kranti ki PUKAR,
Fir bane aap JODHA ke AKBAR
or KHWAJA ji ki rehmat ki hone lagi bouchhaar.

DIL HI DIL MEIN, DIL SE, DIL NE JISE APNA KAHA
Wo aap hi toh ho,
Kabhi humaare GURU, kabhi humaare STAR
Wo aap hi toh ho.

HEAVEN aur EARTH ke beech ke CONNECTIONS
Aap hi ne to jode hain,
Bol ke VANDE MATARAM jaane kitne hi log
Apne SWADES ki ore mode hain.

JAI HO ki TAAL pe jhoom rahe
Ab to sab ke sab,
Kheech lo koi bhi LAKEER
THE LEGEND OF RAHMAN nahi rukega ab.

Kehna tha bas yehi mujhe
iss NAYAK ke baare mein,
Aaj bhi ek alag hi TEHZEEB hai
Duniya ke iss chamakte sitaare mein.

LOVE YOU HAMESHA sir..!! JAI HO..!! :-)

TRANSLATION

Rahman ji Rahman ji, you are the crown of  musical notes,
You are our godfather,
You are our prince.

We always listened to you,
We liked every style of yours,
You made us travel from Bombay to Delhi-6,
You taught us how to say BULLU in place of BLUE.

In this run for life,
You only became our companion,
Such a breeze of songs started to blow,
In front of which even the storms cannot stay.

Becoming a youth you told us
Mangal Pandey’s call for the revolution,
Then u became Jodha’s Akbar
And Khwaja ji’s blessings started to rain.

Within the heart itself, whom the heart called someone its own from the heart
(it’s tough :P)
That’s you,
Sometimes our teacher, sometimes our star
That’s you.

You only joined the connections between heaven and earth,
You only turned numerous people towards their nations by saying vande mataram.

Now everyone is dancing to the rhythm of jai ho,
Put any border but the legend of Rahman will not stop.

I just had to say this about this hero,
That even today this shining star has special elegance.!!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS SIR..!! JAI HO..!! :-)

[arr] ARR is still childish for awards :)

2010-01-31 Thread Basha

dear all rahmaniacs,

i hope, once again today we dont have words to express the happiness

Nowadays our boss become as childish, how means, if you ask a child he need 1
choclate or 2 choclate he will say i need 2 choclates. like that if ARR
nominated for any awards, there is no choice to his god and fans, it
automatically comes all category's to him.

vithur, as you said, no one has got like thisdouble awards at the same time

ARR now become in the hit list as the man who got the 2 Oscars & Grammy at a
first attempt itself.

now the responsible coming more ahead for our boss...i know you will break all
this things...

Boss, if you ask anyone what is your limit of joy means they would mention
something...
but for us(your fans) boss we 1st thankfull to god to given both Oscar &
Grammy, but still we need more happiness like this atleast 1 in the year. till
our death we want to listen your music only

Our heart full love is only for you... and our prayers is always with you...
also you allah also with you... keep on rocking...

my special thanks for all the group members prayed for our Boss...

I literally had tears rolling down my eyes...tears of joy...watching all these

recognize it, and develop it :). And shows once again that music has no

You don't have to reply to every tom, dick & harry who says something negative
about AR or his music. Some people never learn or understand or change... so
sometimes it's best to just ignore them & move on.

If someone puts their thoughts in sensible enough way, then you can reply to
those coz you at least know that they are serious enough to gather their
thoughts & put it here properly. But about these "one line mailers", I think
it's best to press Delete button & move on...

SHEELA REDDY ON A.R. RAHMAN
Meeting someone for an hour-long interview is no entry ticket to a man’s soul,
but with A.R.
Rahman it seemed like that. The first time I met him was in November ’98 when
he’d come to
Delhi to accept a Channel V viewers’ award for most popular track of the year.
Some three
million viewers had voted for him, which wasn’t surprising, considering how his
music was
already conquering the film world, both in Tamil and Hindi. But what was
unusual was the song
this post-Chitrahaar, Def Leppard-adoring generation chose as their favourite
song of the year,
Vande Mataram. By then, a countrywide row had broken out over the compulsory
singing of this
‘national song’ in schools, but Rahman’s popular, flag-waving rendering of it
(Maa Tujhe
Salaam) was met everywhere, especially among the young, with foot-tapping
enthusiasm. I had to
find out for myself how this young man with Jesus Christ locks, blue jeans and
Muslim name had
so cleverly subverted the mullahs and the Hindu fundoos by getting a whole
generation hooked to
it.
That’s the best part of being a journalist, even a freelance one—you can go
with a question to
anyone, anywhere, and get your answer straight from the horse’s mouth. If you
know how to reach
it, of course. Rahman was easy—I just had to call the Channel V pro. Within
hours, I was
sitting in a hotel suite with this quiet young man with large, still eyes and
hands, dressed
all in black—black jacket, black trousers, black shoes—chatting not only about
the genesis of
his award-winning song (the brainchild of ad film buddy Bharatbala—they both
wanted to create a
song that would make patriotism hip). But as often happens in such moments of
enforced
intimacy, we ended up talking of much more. Such as how he converted to Islam
10 years earlier,
when he was 21.

It started, he said, when his father was dying. Rahman was only 11 years old
then, the middle
child between two sisters. Having tried everything else and failed, the family
turned to a
local pir. "My father was very ill then, bed-ridden, and the pir sahib couldn’t
do anything for
him at that last stage." But even after his father died, Rahman’s family still
turned to the
pir for emotional support. And then one day, nearly 10 years later, the pir
sahib came to
Rahman’s home. "He blessed a room which is very special to me because my father
died in it, and
which I had turned into my studio. The pir sahib said we were destined to go
through some
unique experiences, including much suffering, and some very hard times." His
prophecy had a
curious effect on Rahman: "The moment he said that and blessed the room, I felt
such peace. As
if everything had become green, and my whole life had started afresh."

Within six months, the pir was dead, but the mystical power he had unleashed on
the family
lived on. That’s when Rahman says the family decided to embrace Islam. "I felt
that, OK, this
feeling that I have is God. It’s not about Hindu or Muslim or anything, but
there is that one
feeling, and that is God." It was not anything dramatic, he explained, "like it
is in films".

"It would be hypocritical, " he felt, with the dawning of this feeling, if he
didn’t change his
name. And so, Dilip Kumar became Allah Rakha Rahman at the age of 21. For
Rahman and his
family, the conversion was more a change in their attitude to God than anything
else. "In
fact," he pointed out, "if you take ancient Hindu scriptures, the Rig Veda, it
says God is
one." It’s the mystical aspects of the namaaz that he valued the most, Rahman
said. "Prayer is
more like a meditation for me. And it helps me clean my inner self. I go
through death five
times a day when I pray and I am born again. When I start, I feel

There is so much to learn from Rahman - the human being isnt it? to be half as
good as him is great enough.

Nice.. Just like him.

Here is my short account of my encounter with ARR.

Dec 19, 2003 :

I was on my way to India to catch up with family but took a week to explore
Istanbul and stopped over. I backpack a lot so Istanbul was always on my list.
I am muslim so went over for Friday Prayer to the beautiful Blue Mosque in
Sultanahmet. After getting done with my prayers as I was getting out, I noticed
an indian guy sitting there and instantly found him to be AR Rahman. I was
wondering what he was upto here. So, I lingered around in the mosque.

Man! does ARR pray! he was there for an additional half an hour in the mosque
and I should be ashamed I don't devote as much time to God as I should! A
lesson there - however big you get in this world, you are still nothing in
comparison to the almighty !

Anyways, he got out of the mosque and I went and met with him and shook his
hand and took a few pictures. He was there with a friend of his.

So, before I could ask anything starts asking me questions - where you from,
what you doing here, how long have you been here etc. etc. and I walk with him
back all the way to his hotel. he was staying at the Four Seasons Istanbul (
one of the best hotels in the world!). He told me he came for a week to attend
the Rumi Festival in Konya.

Rahman is very very down to earth. I don't know how the time went but he talked
as he was havign a conversation with anyone on the street.

My only regret is not having to continue the conversation. I would have surely
learnt a lot about him and his simplicity.

Well - for those interested in meeting him - there is a hint - get to Konya's
annual Rumi festival every mid december and you might get some alone time with
him! :)

ARR fan,
Mansoor

Hi Dear Rahmaniacs.. I just wanted to share with u all my meeting with AR
RAHMAN sir..
I'm a student of Loyola College and more than that I'm an ardent follower of
Rahman sir's music. On the 18th of sept, A friend of mine and me went to invite
Rahman sir as a chief guest to our college cultural event. After a long wait of
over 4 hours, at 11 PM, we were called in.. We went in and there HE was.. It
was the second time I was meeting him up close..
He called us in and asked us to take our seats. We briefed him about the reason
of our arrival.. He smiled and said "I would've loved to be there. But i have
so many pre commitments." I knew about all his big projects so i didn't talk
after that. My friend told him that he just had to come to the college for 5 to
10 mins. Just to light the lamp. HE said, "Coming for 5 minutes is not at all a
problem. But my work requires me to be really focussed. If i come for 5 mins
also its like I'l lose the whole day. I get easily distracted and then it
becomes difficult for me to work." He explained to us like he knew us before,
with so much clarity and such ease. When many other celebrities find it a
matter of pride to talk to a fan, here's a world class celebrity sitting and
explaining y he can't make it. I mean who else would care to do such a thing?
That's RAHMAN for u. The Rarest and the most UNIQUE Celebrity in all of
World.He never, even unknowingly hurts
anyone. When we asked one of the helpers he said, tht it was AR who wanted to
cal us in, when he knew tht we had been waiting for so long. My friend cried at
AR's character saying that there can't be a sweeter Human Being on the
planet..I know we all know of this Great Man's character, but to be there and
feel it is an altogether different experience..
The best part was when he was leaving, I wished him Eid Mubarak and he smiled
and patted my backIt was one of the best days for my friend and me. Although he
couldn't make it to our college, he wrote us an Autograph addressed to the
College.
I'm so Proud to be a FAN of such a great Personality. He's the Best..
Hail AR RAHMAN sir..

Where you smile, thats where my destination is
tu bin bataye mujhe le chal kaheen
take me somewhere without telling me
jahan tu muskuraye meri manzil wahin
where you smile, that is my destination
meethi lagi, chakh ke dekhi abhi
I've just tasted the sweet feeling of love
mishri ki dali, zindagi ho chali
a lump of sugar, has become my life

my shore is where your arms are
tu bin bataye mujhe le chal kaheen
take me somewhere without telling me
jahan tu muskuraye meri manzil wahin
where you smile, that is my destination
mann ki gali tu phuharoon si aa
come down the road of the heart like small raindrops
bheeg jaye mere khwabon ka kafila
my dreams will be soaked

The verse that you hum, that is my tune
Khoon Chala
kuchh kar guzarne ko khoon chala khoon chala
blood has stirred to do something
aankhon ke sheeshe mein utarne ko khoon chala
blood has stirred to walk down the glass of the eyes
badan se tapak kar, zameen se lipatkar
dripping from the body, enveloping the earth
galiyon se raston se ubharkar, umadkar
rising from the streets and the paths
naye rang bhar ne ko khoon chala khoon chala
blood has stirred to fill new colors
khuli-si chhoT lekar, baRi-si tich lekar ahista ahista
With an open wound, with a large (complaint?), slowly, slowly
sawaalon ki ungli, jawaabon ki mutthi
the figner of questions, a fist of answers
sang lekar Khoon chala
with all of this the blood goes
kuchh kar guzarne ko khoon chala khoon chala
blood is going to try and do something
Khoon chala can have various meaning depending on various
interpretations. In this case its most near Khoon=blood, offspring.
Chala=has begun to walk or do something

BB) mostly it depands on the genre and the subject of the film.

CC) i believe arr is paid on the basis of hours and ghai usually
takes more time and altimetly the finest ones are derived out of it.

neverthless, rajivmenon, kathir, vasanth, kunju menon (ghandi
krishnan) viramuthu, vaali, javid akhtar, ks ravikumar, shankar,
k.balachander, some of hindi directors are mutually benifited and
have shaped arr and his team for the position which they deserves
very well.

let us pray GOD for arr's sucess in this world and in the hereafter.

[arr] T Shirt Quote everyone should participate in tunning the quote..

2005-06-21 Thread Sadic Basha
Dear Genius ARR Fans,

Please quote/tune this quote for T Shirt

" No Music but AR Rahman"
" Not just an Indian music but World of Music"

or

"V R'LL PROUD OF BEING AN INDIAN "

Or combined ( above 2 quotes)

" ISAI Puyal" is good but seem very much nationaled slogan, it will
be difficult for other than tamilians to understand the meaning of
ISAI PUYAL, so let us give an international attractive quote.

with love
