[arr] Raavan - High energy music

2010-05-01 Thread nagarajan raghavendran
Guys,

Day 1 - Like everyone else - when i first heard Raavan music...i initially got
a ok' kind of feeling. Like always - i knew something was in store to come.

But the very same day - when i heard Beera Beera Behene De' promos in TV,
i was kind of 'tempted' to listen to it again,

Day 2 - On my way to office - the first song i heard Thok De Killi..Oh man -
what an awesome orchestration... I was hooked into it and the song running into
several loops in my audio player.

Day 3 - I couldn't stop telling all my colleagues to make them listen to it.
Someone spoke about Ranjha Ranjha song...I got tied to this song as well with
mellifulous rendering by Rekha Bhardwaj.

Day 4 : Moved on to Khili Re - lovely melody from Reena Bhardwaj and then the
peppy Kata Kata

Day 5 : Completely tied to the whole album. Very comprehensive

ARR stores something very special for Mani Ratnam always. This album is another
example. Great stuff!

2010-02-01 Thread nagarajan raghavendran

What a day it was. So much of excitement, energy, joy, pride. One man who made
everything possible - A.R.Rahman

There is so much i have learnt from ARR - beyond music.

Every day - when you realise what this man has achieved, it gives you a new
sense of inspiration, power and confidence to face your day to day challenges.

The more you think about this man - you do feel that he has given new
definition to Life and probably one of the greatest source of insipiration
you have ever had.

The more you hear this man speak - teaches you something you never heard
before. Although what he might have said is so simple.

A soul that reaches million hearts and makes it melt.

Long live ARR.

met you and to now , you have not changed at all.

AR's reply :  I think - i need to learn that, dont know - people say that.
What is Ungrounded then?  :) :).

Hello friends,

I have made an instrumental version for the song - Munbe Vaa from the movie
Jillendru Oru Kadhal (please correct me for the spelling as i don't know Tamil).

This is one of my favorite song from the ARR's Tamil vertical. Well this is the
first time I have done a instrumental of a tamil song. I have just added a
intro part and have done little tweaking towards the ending part. The original
song is so melodious and that is the reason i have not experimented much in
this instrumental. I hope u all like it. Do send me your comments. Thanks.

Please download it from any of the below link:

4shared Link:
http://www.4shared. com/dir/7667141/ fdda5ac/sharing. html

There is some error coming on Mediafire while uploading. So as soon as it gets
rectified, I'll upload it on Mediafire on post the link soon.

Aakash Shah

This was the best ever TV programme on ARR I have watched till date. This was
telecasted on Pongal day in 1995. The Programme was titled A R Rahman oru
Kadhiraa illay Pudhiraa?. It was hosted by B.H. Abdul hameed.

K. Balachander, Vairamuthu, SPB etc spoke about ARR for about 45 minutes.
(Remember that this was during his early days where he has done only Roja,
Pudiya mugam, Thiruda^2, Vandichola chinrasu, Duet, Kadhalan etc) . SPB also
told that in Japan they had printed T-shirts with Chinna Chinna Aasai as the
slogan.

ARR was wearing a Green Shirt (which was very common in all of his interviews
during those days) and it was in his Panchathan studio. For the last 15 minutes
of the interview, ARR was asked to compose something for the Sun TV viewers on
occasion of Pongal. It was the first time (and last time i think) that ARR
produced LIVE music . Couple of Nadaswaram and Thavil people were there in
his studio and ARR gave them the swarams in verbal and asked them to play, and
he recorded them as they played (This was done 2-3 times after some
corrections) . He also gave notations to the Thavil person which was awesome to
watch. In the end, ARR mixed it completely and played it for the viewers which
was a TREAT to watch.

I am searching for the interview (SUN TV has the rights for it). In those days
there was no Internet or Youtube to get the interview next day. I have recorded
the same in a Audio cassette during those days. Have to search it now.

This one is a real treat for all RAHMANIACS and a must have !!

Thanks,
Sriram

ARR gave an interview to SUN TV (i guess during the release of Bombay) on a
Pongal day. At the end of that interview, they asked ARR to compose a musical
bit for the Pongal Occasion. Even though i heard that only one time, i was
really hooked into that great composition by ARR. I guess the Tavil was played
by a famous person (Pazhanichamy? ??).

Just hear the fusion of Nadaswaram and Tavil. Just over a minute.. but...
WOW...

I searched for that in youtube and found it Kept on listening it today for
a long long time.
I hope that this has been shared already in the group, but i couldn't control
myself from posting it again.

[arr] RECIPE FOR SUCCESS - A.R.RAHMAN

2009-02-23 Thread nagarajan raghavendran

Dear fellow fans,

Many congratulations and heartfelt wishes to A.R.Rahman. I want to really put
out my honest thoughts on this day - while i have always been a silent admirer
in this blog.

Man-what a day it was!. It was actually like watching a cricket world cup final
- last 2 balls 12 runs to win at MCG A.R.Rahman thumping two massive sixes
back to back.

The same humility , down to earth acceptance of award, the gentle smile -
thanking his mother his signature thanksgiving to god Ella Pugazhum
Iraivanukke - what more can you ask for - from a guy who has fought all
battles of life, right from his young age as he says - i had to chose
between hatred and love and i chose love. This speaks volumes about his
simplicity and the desire to perform, win and help others win too!

The way i would put it is - Its actually a pride for the Academy to honour
such a selfless human like A.R.Rahman. Several years of sincere hardwork -
coupled with dedication, practice, commitment, creativity, enthusiasm, his
never ending passion for music.. The inner spiritual quality in him - showcased
through his honest and straight from the heart music. The patriotism
love towards the country and his eagerness to place India at a different level
in global space. The ability to bring out the best not only from himself - but
most importantly from others. The selfless attitude to recognise talent and
bring it to the forte. His philosophy of Live and Let Live and desire for
continous improvement.

It has been such a memorable day for all us as fans  in fact i told my team in
office - that i will throw an ice cream party if A.R. wins and i need to honour
that commitment.

I can sleep peacefully tonight - A.R.has won so India has won!

RECIPE FOR SUCCESS - A.R.RAHMAN. God Bless him.

Best Wishes

2009-02-06 Thread nagarajan raghavendran

Fello ARR fans,

I have been getting a feeling in the last 2 weeks that - even without playing
the actual music of the song - this particular tune is automatically ringing in
my ears.Honestly - it has been a divine musical treat and experience - that i
am sure all of you would agree with me.

Certainy a soul-stirring song from the great ARR. Credit should also go to
Gomathishree Sukhwinder singh.

No doubt - ARR is blessed.

Some questions i would like to ask ARR - if given a chance is :

1. Undoubtedly Humility personified is ARR - How is he able to handle success
and criticism so very well despite everything happening around him?

2. If his dad - Mr.Sekar were to be live - No doubt he would have dedicated his
entire music to him - But in addition What is the other special thing he
would have wanted to do?

3. What were the 3 biggest lessons he has learnt in his life/in his career?

4. His musicians and compositions are always special to him. Which of his
compositions he considers to be the most toughtest/challenging ever and took a
long time to record?

5. His children - would sure one fine may become musicians. What is the
strongest advice/lesson he would give them - if they were to take music a their
full time career?

6. If he were to choose a film from yesteryears - and asked by a veteran
director to compose music - which film would that be?

6. Last but not least -  It would be a dream for all his fans to celebrate
something called say ARR FANS DAY and spends about an hour once a year?

Long live this musical genius

Dear All,

It was a very wonderful day today, for having spent time with the children at
Jeroham Children's Home in Chennai. We had celebrity singer Naresh Iyer with
us, who sang for us, who served the children, who along with the Trustee cut
the cake and took snaps with the children. We had the following events

1. A Musical performance by Rahmaniacs

2. A Dance Show by the children

3. Cutting the Cake wishing ARR and his son Ameen on their BDay

4. Serving Food for the children

5. Taking snaps with the children, with Naresh Iyer

It was a noble occasion and I thank all members who had come. God Bless All.

I sign off with my heart's content that we have done something good for the
society as a token of our love and adoration for AR and his music.

WISHING THE MUSICAL MAESTRO AND HIS SON A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY. GOD BLESS HIM
WITH MANY MORE DIVINE TUNES ALWAYS.

Vithur

[arr] This group rocks and Keep up the good work friends

2008-10-12 Thread nagarajan raghavendran
Hi Vithur and senior moderators of this group

I am a recently joined member in this group and of course an ardent fan of ARR.
Have been regularly  reading through the e-mail flow and its been exciting.
Currently based in Mumbai

You and the team are doing a fantastic job in sharing key info during every
possible opportunity and you especially rock my friend :)keep up the good
work. Tell us more about yourself.

I was thinking - if we can start a music library - with everyone's join
contribution with exclusive materials on ARR's music - say including archive of
all BGM's - Dunno if this is possible.

Also - We as fans of ARR, should get a chance to know each other as much as
possible.

Can i suggest - each of you start sharing a bit about yourself as to what you
do in 2-3 sentences. My quick intro below :

Basically from chennai - currently working in mumbai with a MNC. I am also a
classical percussionist - learnt under the auspices of maha gurus such as the
grammy award winner Vikku Vinayakram sir and Karaikudi Mani sir. ARR has always
been a icon for younsters and i have recently started playing keyboard with
great inspiration from his music in the recent past.  It is just amazing to see
the various permutations and combinations of the notes, the chord progression,
use of sound from innovative instruments across the globe and what not.

I have a wish to go and listen to any of the recordings in Panchathan Inn.
Though i dont know when it will fulfill.

Long live ARR and Long live Soul Stirring Music and of course - to this group
GUYS - KEEP ROCKING :)

Cheers

Nagi

Dear ARR Fans,

I’ve been a silent reader all these years in
this group.  Found an Wiki Article which lists our boss ARR’s name.

Please click the below link:

Please look under the category “200 million to
499 million records”.

Wish you a wonderful day.

Cheers, Ranga

Re: [arr] Re: Alaipayudhey BGMs

2008-08-30 Thread nagarajan raghavendran
Hi Guys

I am a new member of this group and many thanks to each one of you for sharing
interesting info on AR - Rahman, the musical genuis and certainly India's pride.

One of my close friend is currently part of AR - Rahman's string orchestra and
he plays mridangam..( I am a mridangam player too).. I will share his recording
experiences
soon.

The best thing i liked about him - is his modesty and humility. He knows how to
handle Success and i guess thats one of the important reason, that he has
become a international icon.

Inspired by his music - i recently bought a Keyboard to start practising his
songs.

1. I am keen to know the type of instruments used in his songs

2. I am looking for both carnatic/western notes for all his compositions.. Can
someone help share web links with me please.

Long live music and long live ARR - the giant carrier.

Rgds..Nagi
