[arr] Re: Dissection of my posts

2009-09-13 Thread nivensamy
Its sad for me too to see how members can be so personal when challenging
someone's views as if they should dictate their tastes and knowledge. As a
senior of this group I admire when someone put forward his thoughts with
substantiated background. Now anyone can have his own opinions which im sure
will differ with other members but its not mature to start bashing each
sentence, point by point and worst when its targeting a specific member.

This group is highly appreciated by our idol A R Rahman, please learn from his
humility and love for everyone without putting barriers of language and
spreading love thru his music. Learn from his wise words for tolerance... If
someone here cannot be a good disciple of thalaiva, may he remain away from
this group. We want only heathly debates!!!

Ichord dont let one member shatter our excitement in reading your excitements
about rahman's music.

Gopal bro, can you do anything about members who are going too far when
targeting other members??

[arr] Re: continuum in blue???

2009-09-12 Thread nivensamy
This is where I hear the continuum used to generate a racing motorcycle sound
in Blue theme. And I can assure u that each time I come across a running
motocycle on street I think of blue theme...

0:22-0:29
01:04-1:07
01:10-1:20
01:42-1:46
1:59-02:05
2:18-2:40
3:07-3:11
3:15

All these pointers you will ask... well its what I got after many listening of
the cd with my big headphones...some place its very low level...

[arr] Re: BLUE : THEME SONG VIDEO : AWESOME

2009-09-12 Thread nivensamy
First 50 Secs are awesome, rest I find that both music and underwater sequences
,though magnificent, donnot go along.. They have been wasted... You cannot put
fast racy beats and punchy raps in tranquil underwater shootings... That's my
personal opinion n taste.

Hope it'll be better in the film...

I pictured the blue theme like fast moto/car racing in neon lighted streets
with lots of effects n explosion...

[arr] Re: 'Blue' Sound/Audio Quality - "Dissapointed"

2009-09-11 Thread nivensamy
I really find it hard to believe, im perplex about this audio quality issue.

I have average audio systems , No BOSE or JBL / Harman Kardon.. but still im
finding so much sound quality in BLUE cd...

Cant find the reason for sudden reaction of some members. My guess is that
Music distributors are playing tricks with us. I remember for D6 I got a
package where the mirror was nothing but a carton coated with glossy paper. And
now for BLUE the T-Series logo is BLUE and not the normal red.

[arr] Re: Few apt words to describe Blue.......

2009-09-09 Thread nivensamy
well said, my first impression is that this the most international album ever
made from Bollywood... Rahman surely has got the oscARR cap...

And I already see most of the tracks topping all indian charts in comins weeks
and stay for long and competing with each other as there are no serious
contenders in the horizon of Bolly Music.

I rarely write long paragraphs cause of a busy schedule but the double gift
that BOSS gave us (passage,BU LUUuu) are so damn good that I had to find some
times to express myself.

However I am disappointed that there are no more 'dissapointed' messages from
our friends...

My message is that the promos we had are called as TEASERS and I guess some
dont like to be teased, they take the thing seriously as the final work... A
die hard rahman fan knows how and when to give impressions and reviews on his
masterpieces. BIG RESPECT to talaivaa for giving us such treats for the ears.

BLUE will be like a tsunami to the other scores we had so far for the year..
other albums will be flooded by the secrets of BLUE...

ENJOY...

[arr] Re: Passage released

2009-09-08 Thread nivensamy
Friends, rahman music is really fitted in the movie. As Gopal mentionned, its a
promotional movie and from what I read its to be viewed in a specially designed
'Cinema'. This project is prototype of what might be the next revolution in
hybrid art form cinema-architecture. I guess that Rahman was chosen by
Shekar as he knows how they can communicate their cinematic needs. And IMHO Our
Boss gave his talented creativity as he could to fit the music in the mood of
the movie.

Personally I dont think there will be a cd release as its an experience as can
be deduced from the site's name.

I myself was confused while seeing that I could download the movie and complete
soundtrack. After watching the movie and still being confused I read through
the articles on the website and it all made sense to me.

Music wise, the tracks are too good... specially Tango... Very different fro
usual flavour. Again an example that BOSS is very versatile and can do justice
to a movie's theme.

2009-08-29 Thread nivensamy
Purevibz, really a good initiative to create that poll and as I expected, "so
much ado about nothing" , only a few percentage , actually one vote for "How
could ARR compose such trash? It's below him!"

and i think majority (above 70 % ) , inc me, will wait for album before any
judgements...

Bad trailor/teaser means good album :p

Chiggy wiggy will be a big hit. Come on friends, as mentionned earlier its a
dance floor song in an action-thriller movie for mass audience... and the music
though is a mix of bhangra n reggeaton, has rahman's touch to it, like the
percussions used in "Nadhiye" from rhythm and the shennai/nadaswaram used in
outro of chiggy wiggy...

Let the music invade your mind...

Vithur, for me the most creativity of this feature is the usage of 'Dil Ka

projects in same timeframe..

Here, in addition of using an extract, he also reversed it... abs marvellous...

[arr] Re: Which one song by ARR best summarizes who ARR really is?

2009-08-18 Thread nivensamy

Thats a very nice topic chord. But I note that all 5 tracks mentionned are in
hindi. Im not raising a language issue here.

Im just thinking that each member will have his own appreciation based on his
personal backgrouds...

My point is , its very difficult to find only one song to summarise ARR
personality.

Mine might be the tunes he composed for commercials, im thinking of the ad for
the times of India chennai concert, where he says 'Music has changed and the
change is me"

Link here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne1l6VNkuLM

Might be a surprise to many, but this short track has so much rahmanism in it
IMHO... specially the way its been picturised as rahman music is visual.

I PERSONALLY know the frustration when your mails are not replied or commented.
Some people will get many rapid responses, and some not. You will have to bear
it if you are a die hard rahman fan and think that this group is of importance
to you.

When you think that this group have above 10,000 members and not even a
response to your post, there are many things that goes in your head. But you
should take it with philosophy and you will enjoy being here. Life is a
challenge with many hurdles, you will grow by learning to surmount them.

[arr] Re: Listening to rahman songs without effects

2009-05-27 Thread nivensamy
Of course technology is an important factor, optimally, it would be listening
to his music in the environment he created them as its there that his music can
be reproduced 1:1

But the thing I point out is that virtual effects recreated with audio players
is not recommended, better leave them off. Anyway, anyone is free to experiment
depending on his player. I turned mine off on my Nokia 5800 Express music with
Sony MDR-G82 headphones and prefer it like that.

[arr] Listening to rahman songs without effects

2009-05-26 Thread nivensamy
I know many of us listen to rahman songs on portable player where there are
stereo widening effects, reverb, SRS Wow etc...

Have you tried listening without enabling these? I did and discovered natural
effects that was used by Rahman which get screwed when we use the player sound
effects.

Give it a try.

[arr] Revisiting 'Kangalil Keidu Sei'

2009-05-26 Thread nivensamy
Dear Rahmaniacs, Im not expert at reviewing rahman's music as many of us here
do. But I cannot restrain myself to write a message on my overwhelming pleasure
of listening again and again to this marvelous album who remains one of my fav
from Our BOSS... All tracks are superbly composed with so much subtle effects
used here n there and put that spicy touch to each song. Wow, though I have not
put importance to understand the words, Im 1% very fulfilled with the high
state these tracks put me in. They eject me from any mind state I may be and
project me in another dimension where only musical prowess reigns and that of A
R Rahman... Specially Theekuruvil... and the tubular bells used in it.

I compel anyone here who has not heard this album to make it a MUST!!! Language
is no barrier, Rahman speaks only music.

Take care,

Niven

[arr] Re: Now is the perfect time to release Connections

2009-05-19 Thread nivensamy
As I mentionned in earlier post, I bought the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and was
shocked that it did not contain the 'connections' album but 18 tracks from
international charts. Also when i queried the Nokia distributor in Mauritiusm
they told me that the 'Comes with music' version of the phone is almost double
the price I paid for and is only available in Singapore, and only recently in
UK.

I think Nokia is targeting only Indian market for Rahman fans as they chose him
to launch the product on his birthday.
