Roshan,

Appreciate your input. This album will def not appeal to everyone. I like how
you said, "it's not my taste" instead of "what's wrong with Rahman" or "ARR has
lost it..." nonsense. I wish more could express disappointment like you do.

Give it a few more hearings...maybe you can salvage something from this album.
If not, it's ok! Look forward to the next one and enjoy a huge ARR library
collection that we already have.

Keep very low expectations and listen to the songs I m sure you will get

Indians would perceive to Rahman's experimented song? I wonder how Hindi
version songs will be ? I didn't like Sivaji - The Boss songs in Hindi.

2010-08-01 Thread sunder s
Guys,

ARR has done so many genre of music, if you want melody there are huge
collections in his whole set of composition, classic, hindustani, fusion,
rap etc etc. There are albums which contains mixture of these genre of
music, some having same genre, sangamam is purely classical, boys, enthiran
are purely western, sivaji mixture of both... so depending on what director
asks arr delivers them, so dont compare music of one album with another,
that doesn't make sense. If songs are like sivaji then people would say
songs are same like sivaji, nothing new, if it is not like sivaji we say "i
expected something like sivaji"

All I would say for those who doesn't like enthiran, take a break go and
listen arr's old albums and hear enthiran, you will feel the difference.
Still you are not satisfied, go and hear other music director's music, this
will really help.

S.Sunder

I am loving the songs. I never thought that we could hear these kinds of songs
in a Tamil movie. The last time that I said wow for an ARR song was Aaromale.
This album has 2 of them - Pudhiya manidha and Irumbile. Just waiting to get my
hands on the CD.

I am also happy that ARR is using Shreya more frequently nowadays and hope that
it continues. She is brilliant, probably the best of this generation. Love her
singing in Kadal Anukkal.

FYI, songs are available for listening on Raaga.com.

Appreciate your input. This album will def not appeal to everyone. I like how
you said, "it's not my taste" instead of "what's wrong with Rahman" or "ARR has

Give it a few more hearings...maybe you can salvage something from this album.

Same here, Chord. The songs aren't my cup of tea. Finding it difficult to
connect to the album but I am loving Kadal Anukkal. I am not sure if noisy is
the word but perhaps loud and busy, I feel. Like you, I am missing a Sahara in
the album. Would have loved a full-on melody in this soundtrack. I could
connect
much more to Raavanan and VTV and perhaps even Sivaji. Despite this, I think
the
soundtrack delivers to the mass appeal required for a Rajni movie and now a
Rajni-Shankar movie. It's a full-on commercial package taking into account the
cast and crew's image. Really happy that it works for lots of people on here.
Looking forward to connecting to this soundtrack more.

Just got a listen to the whole album. Mixed feelings.love some
thingsdidn't like other things. 3-4 songs are outstanding.rest seem
kind of filler, though bright in spots. Inconsistent, hodge podgy and too
noisy
in places, though bold and fit for a Rajini movie. Very massy and entertaining
with a lot of classy elements too. Didn't like the retro 80s electronica
sounds..way too cheesy...Rahman could have used more progressive,
contemporary electro sounds and sound effects (except for the first song which
did sound very contemporary and progressive!) Oh, and I also could not catch
onto melodies, though they are therehard to remember and hum melodies,
unlike what we heard in Sivaji along the lines of Sahara.

Will write a more detailed review once I listen to the songs at least several
more times, absorb them better after several days.
