as stated before by mr. vijay Iyer, the singer is Rashid Ali (the singer of
Nadhir Dhinna - Paarthale Paravasam, if I'm not mistaken)

It could be Rashid Ali now... haven't heard whats on air. There was  
an issue about Karthik's pronunciations in Hindi then... and talks  
about probably getting someone else to sing it.
