SELFCENTERED.WHO CARES IF ARR'S MUSIC ISNT
STAYING IN THE TAMIL CHARTS FOR A LONGER
DURATION...THE FACT AND THE MATTER HERE IS, ARR
HAS REACHED WORLD STAGE WHERE HE CAN BE THE BEST
MUSICAL AMBASSADOR FOR US TAMILS AND SO INSTEAD OF
COMPLAINING KEEP YOUR HEADS UP AND BE PROUD OF WHAT
THE MOZART FROM MADRAS HAS DONE FOR US...

Hi,
It is a known fact that ARRhas been belting out some great music but the number of films he has done has come down for obvious reasons. The songs have been hits but just because the movies have flopped, it doesn't mean ARR hasn't given a HIT. The songs have not got due recognition beacuse there are a lot of private channels in TN that promote even the worst of the movies for some reasons unknown to many and some personal rivalry not towards Rahman but somebody else in the movie.

Anyway it seems Rahman has a lot of movies queuing up to get released next year and he pushes out the Dappankuthu songs of the popular numbers and provide people with real quality music.

Yaa I agree that the last hit of ARR in tamil was maybe Alaipayuthey...
Most of the movies from kannathil Muthamittal to Ah Aah had some gr8 music
but the films dint click... Same happened in hindi also...
But please dont conclude anything based on awards... Swades was an alltime gr8...
It can win awrds for BGMs alone... but then the ppl dont recognise them...

For me ARR can give something which other MDs cannot.. can u name a

This topic seems be a never ending debate. I agree with dinesh and many like him that for the past few yrs ARR has not been his usual dominating position like he used to be before. This as we know due to his commitment to LOTR and etc. Also ARR's venture into period films though was a highly remarkable effort, wasn't vry successful with the masses. Sadly the films too did not do as well as expected. His tamil releases have not helped either. Despite having superhit scores in films like Boys, E20U18, KKS, AE, New and Ah Aah,.. it did not bring him any awards due to either negative media publicity or the films below par performance at the b-o. Added to this a host of young and new MD's have taken over the music scene in hindi and tamil and becoming a rage with the masses everywhere with their so called "hit" music. Is it a sign of the times or sheer bad luck, i would not know but ARR will almost certainly bounce back with style like he always
does. On the other hand i disagree with dinesh and others who think that ARR is wasting his time on concerts. Fans all over the world wants to see him perform live and its definetely an honour for ARR to perform for his legions of fans who have supported him throughout his career.
