Re: [arr] WHERE DID THEY GET THESE SONGS

2010-01-11 Thread sreekrishnan_v

Gops et.al.,

the finger pointing has to stop, but there is certainly a point. Ofcourse
Launch and Release are 2 different things, but i think it makes no sense to
keep the 2 dates this apart. If you know what i mean, you will agree that with
people expecting so much out of this : If a song is Launched -[ it means You
have it production ready] and Ideally, every single fan including you would
like to listen to it as well.

I am not siding to the argument that it was gautam Menon's fault as i think
there are others who made the decision. But certainly, this was a bad decision
and one of the best discussions in the group. There is a lot for the industry
to take from what we discussed here !

You lower the rate of a cd, Make it available as soon as [following weekend if
not the next day] it was launched. I think the Logistics are fairly simple
there and can be coordinated well - and the whole point is to stop people from
deviating/trying other means to get hold of a song we love to listen to,
considering 2009 was a No Tamil Song Year from rahman !

A day away and songs are amazing ! Its time for the reviews :)

lets bring it on !

Vinod , sorry, You are missing the whole point.

Audio Launch is NOT Audio Release.
Music launch happened in London. It is similar to unveiling the World Cup,
doesn't mean the final has been finished.

Please get the facts right, especially before refuting authentic sources.

I see your point, Vinod and I understand your feelings of frustration, but as
Gopal says, "release" and "launch" are 2 different things and rarely coincide
together. Yes, the time gap between the 2 is quite long this time around,
making it harder to wait for such a landmark album, but there are some things
that just won't change, I guess! In the end, the album does get released, we
relish it, and move on. Come Tuesday, all your frustrations, anxiety, etc.
will melt away as the magic of AR's notes drown you. This album, I think, will
be worth all the wait and frustration.

The CD's are not available to buy UNTIL TODAY on that day there were no
physical CD release... the songs were just launched means the usual talks and
stuff.. for a change singers gave live performance I should have been

People who are doing this , by illegally circulating this should be punished.
God will punish them,

Lets be loyal to ARR and to all musicians, ..

Really feel bad about this... Sleepless Nights and Hard work of ARR go in vain.

Re: [arr] WHERE DID THEY GET THESE SONGS

2010-01-10 Thread Gopal Srinivasan
Please get your facts right before launching into a diatribe. The music was
not released in London a month early. Nor have they been released on any
digital distribution medium like Amazon or iTunes. The CDs have to be
dispatched ahead of the release date (the 12th) in order to ensure a
simultaneous release everywhere (without which too, fans would bay for the
label's blood). Unfortunately, the distribution and retail trade in parts of
India, South and South East Asia as well as Tamil-dominated pockets of
Europe don't have the most secure systems and processes in place to prevent
pilfering of CDs.

Re: [arr] WHERE DID THEY GET THESE SONGS

2010-01-10 Thread vinod sagar
I think that this is what happens when they release the audio in London one
month early, but do not care to take into account the huge fan base in india !!

I've always wondered the rationale behind releasing the audio... and what it
means.. when the audio is released it MUST be available to the listeners
without any delay... any delay may cause the listeners to lose interest or even
forget abt it or (as is in this case) download/share the audio from illegal
sources... as far as i go its the producers to blame for not making the audio
available for all..

Take me for instance, being a die hard rahmaniac, its been my principle to buy
only original cds of all Rahman's albums... but the wait for couples retreat
and vtv has been such that I am too tempted to download from the net... if this
is the case with me, then i can imagine what would be going through other
listeners !!
