Check the Form Properties -> Vendor Information tab for your form. The Table
Name field needs to have the "sub" value in it to allow searches to go beyond
the currently defined level.

ldap://DNS_SERVER/DC=AAA,DC=,DC=NET??sub?(objectclass=user)

The objectclass=user just restricts the results to values with user in the
objectclass field, not what levels to search.

DSL, PD entries and US Fed Gov certifications

2009-12-28 Thread Differ, Alfred W CTR NAVSEA, 210
Hi all,

I'm wondering if any of you out there have any experience dealing with how the
US federal government names approved software that may be installed on their
servers. I'm working a Navy contract and I'm learning the ropes regarding
DADMS, their naming approach, id's and all that stuff. From what I've seen so
far they don't use the names I see as product dictionary entries. However, I
need to help my customer know what they have installed relative to DADMS since
that is how they get certified.

If anyone has written up anything on this, I'd appreciate a pointer. I've got
a few slow days ahead where I can get a lot of reading done. Without that, I'm
contemplating the 'suite' concept as a wrapper even when the wrapper only has
one item inside.

Any insights?

We are currently on ITSM 7.0.3 running on the 7.1 ARS platform. If there is
stuff in 7.5 that would make my life easier, just say so. I'm itching for a
reason to push for it on the approved list around here. 8)

The closest we have come is with the newer generation Blackberries (Storm/Tour)
and the iPhone with both MT 7.1 and 7.5. We can get authenticated and load a
very basic form display only form. We have see similar issues where tables to
not work as designed, buttons and Active Links do not work. It doesn't take
too complex of a form to make a Blackberry display an error that the page is
too large to load. We are closer than we have ever been but not quite there
yet.

We are supposed to be getting a few demo phones that are claimed to have full browser
functionality including flash. We'll see how these work when they materialize.

Jason

I have been working on getting our forms to work on the iPhone (which seem to
be the only mobile devices that seem to work with our internal WiFi network)
but it is a bit of an uphill challenge.

As people have previously said, some objects, like menus and double-clicking on
table rows, don't work on the iPhone. Also, getting large fields to display
with a scroll-bar is a bit hit-and-miss (although I have been given a
JavaScript workaround from BMC that sometimes helps). For example, getting the
diary to display caused me quite a headache. My final solution was to write it
out to an HTML page and then use an open URL Perform Action AL to display it.
Thanks for the idea to get menus displayed as tables - I'll give that a try.

Buying an Aeroprise set-up is not a solution for us as with the number of
devices that we are using doesn't justify the cost. Aeroprise did tell me once
that they are working on a solution specifically for the iPhone but were a bit
sketchy on details.

I have also written CGI scripts using ARSperl, but that is not really the way
forward that I wish to take.

Hope this helps,

Weird,

I'm running into the EXACT same issue. I need to delete records that are 6

that some people had 2037 as a year for their expiration date and I got
1/1/1969 for the hidden field because of this limitation.

So I changed it to a Date field, tried the same thing and now I'm getting
1/1/. I know you can't add seconds/days/hours to a Date field. I'm
setting this field with $Expiration Date$ + 6 * 365) * 24) * 60) * 60).
Expiration Date is a Date/Time Field.

So, now I don't know what to do. Set a character field and THEN set the Date
field maybe?

John,

Given all that you said

I would suggest that you do all of the following:

1) Use a UI that you build ( if you do not like the default UI )
A display only dialog, called from a custom button and suppress the OOB UI
for the field.
If you have to ... go all the way to a DVF for a custom "Web'ish" UI.

2) Use either a Date field or a Char field ( up to you ) to hold the data.
My two cents... use a Date field. It makes doing math much easier than
using strings.

3) Submit an RFE for what you want the product to do (or not do).

HTH.

John,

Given all that you said

I would suggest that you do all of the following:

1) Use a UI that you build ( if you do not like the default UI )
A display only dialog, called from a custom button and suppress
the OOB UI for the field.
If you have to ... go all the way to a DVF for a custom "Web'ish" UI.

2) Use either a Date field or a Char field ( up to you ) to hold the data.
My two cents... use a Date field. It makes doing math much easier
than using strings.

3) Submit an RFE for what you want the product to do (or not do).

HTH.

Weird,

I'm running into the EXACT same issue. I need to delete records that are 6
years old, so I added a Date/Time field (hidden) and added 6 years to the
Expiration Date and set my hidden Date/Time field to this date. Problem is
that some people had 2037 as a year for their expiration date and I got
1/1/1969 for the hidden field because of this limitation.

So I changed it to a Date field, tried the same thing and now I'm getting
1/1/. I know you can't add seconds/days/hours to a Date field. I'm
setting this field with $Expiration Date$ + 6 * 365) * 24) * 60) * 60).
Expiration Date is a Date/Time Field.

So, now I don't know what to do. Set a character field and THEN set the Date
field maybe?

My RFE will probably be to get the same interface for DATE fields (calendar

Info about form names

2009-12-28 Thread Gianluca Nieri
Hi,
I'm developing a python script to insert values into a remedy form.
I'd like to know if there's a way, starting from a schema name as it appears
in the ARSCHEMA, to calculate the name of the table in the db and the name
of the corresponding SH form.

Thanksa in advance,

Gian
