Product Categorization are not appearing in Search change

2010-10-05 Thread IT (Amanullah Bashir Ahmed)
Hi there,
Version 7.1
I have configured Product Categorization successfully and its working fine but
issue is when I am clicking search change, the change form open and in Product
Categorization nothing is appearing but when I am clicking New Change then all
product categorization are there. In search change why product categorization
is not appearing?
Can anybody tell me how to resolve this issue.

Thanks & Regards

Amanullah

Okay. The AIF opens in a dialog mode and you will have to use an Active Link

That's the only easy way I would imagine to transfer information from
Remedy to SM automatically to create a survey.

You may be able to work around by 'copying' the values, by opening their
web page and and passing values using the URL, but you would need to
know what field values from their web page you would need to pass this
to. This would not automatically submit, without user intervention.

Why not just relate the Task to the Incident. You don't have to duplicate

1. Incident is created (HPD:Help Desk - Best Practice View)

3. Request Type set to Ad Hoc and Relate button (z3Btn_AddTaskTG) clicked.

4. Task form (TMS:Task) is opened, and select data is preset in the Task.

What I need to do is add functionality so that my fields populate from step 3

not a very good knowledge of the more advanced functions.

Pulling logs of the workflow as it happens has not helped me to determine where

Re: "Table field content change" Execution Option

2010-10-05 Thread Mueller, Doug
Jason,

Whenever features are added, there are often name/wording changes that occur
during the process.

Examples include overly technical descriptions changed to something more user
friendly as in this case to
avoid confusion and complexity. So, you will see that the option is Table
Refresh in the Dev Studio
environment.

Table Refresh was complained about (and so "table content change" used for a
while) because it happens
when the table is initially loaded too and there was concern about the word
Refresh being confusing to
people because initial load is different than a refresh... (remember, you are
talking about engineers and they
try and parse the word "a" into 10 different meanings and clarifications!)

Well, sanity prevailed and the term Table Refresh was selected as not really
confusing anyone except the
internal engineers

But, the words are being used and documentation is being built in parallel and
some things are finished early
in cycles and things change later and the dog ate my homework and .

Sometimes stuff just doesn't get cleaned up completely. This is what happened
in this case and led to the
confusion you experienced (see, now the engineers are going to tell me that
they told me there was going
to be confusion about Table Refresh!).

I think the issue here is a misreading/misunderstanding of the feature.

This feature -- as confirmed by another posting -- does work in the 7.5 and
later (I think it was added in 7.5)
releases.

It is when the TABLE FIELD content changes. Not when an editable cell in an
editable column in a table field
changes. It is when the TABLE FIELD content changes.

As the doc notes:

When the table is initially loaded
When the table is refreshed
When the table goes to the next/previous chunk

When the table contents change not when a column content of an editable column
changes.

You should find this feature working correctly as documented once remembering
that the TABLE FIELD is
the entire field the table is in not a column or an editable cell within a
column.

You can do table walks and there are keywords that will tell you if the content
of the columns in the table
row have changed (not which one if there are several editable columns, but just
that something has
changed in some editable column). There is no condition at this time that
fires at the point of change of
the value.

(Although, if you use advanced tables and have things laid out and columns are
shown as fields you may be
able to put things like gain and loss of focus on those fields and things may
work but I am not sure. If
not, it would be an interesting enhancement request if I do say so myself)

Anyway, this is another topic than the one of this note.

I hope this helps clarify things.

Re: How to link directly to a Change Request in Approval Central

2010-10-05 Thread Pierson, Shawn
Rick,

I'm on ITSM 7.0.3 and ARS 7.5 so Approval Central is 7.5. The problem is that
I did figure out somewhere that I can change a reference to something that
would cause Approval Central to open the Change Request directly from Approval
Central without the extra clicks that you would have to do via the View Details
button. Unfortunately, I figured it out in development and hadn't had time to
get back to work on that, or even document how I did it, so I'm trying to
figure it out again.

If I don't figure it out by this afternoon by just digging around, I'm going to
just go through the process of creating a Change Request, requesting approvals,
and logging the whole thing and digging through the logs to find out how that
gets set. It was a pretty cool thing to figure out since you can't customize
anything on Approval Central without BMC blindly wiping it out every time you
apply a patch. Once I figure it out again I'll have to post it on the ARSList
because a lot of people seem to not like the windows that pop up on Approval
Central.

Thanks,

Shawn Pierson

** Shawn, you didn't mention what version you have. In 7.5, the link to the
RFC is not there any longer, but in 7.0/7.1, what you do is open the approval
record and then you can view the RFC from there.

I seem to have forgotten something that I did in the past and need to do again.
The documentation I've referenced isn't helping so I thought I'd come to the
ARSList.

My management wants to be able to directly open a Change Request within
Approval Central when they click on the URL with the Infrastructure Change ID,
instead of that link going to the AP Detail Change Request join. I was playing
around with this a few months back and found a way to do this via configuration
without custom workflow, but unfortunately I never had time to finish and as a
result I didn't document it, and because I did it without a code change, I
can't look at Active Links and Filters by modified date to find it.

Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: Problems with the Command Application-Query-Delete-Entry

2010-10-05 Thread Grooms, Frederick W
I believe it depends on the DB Name verses the Field Label. When the 2 are the
same then the name will work in the run process action. It is when they are
different that you have problems (especially when the form has multiple views).
Using the ID will always work.

I have also had it require you to put the qualification into parenthesis
('' = "$Infrastructure Change ID$") in order for it to work.

Q: Tool Tips - slowness

2010-10-05 Thread David Morgan
Hi all

Can anyone answer the following ?

  ARS 7.5 Patch 003
  ITSM 7.6 (Unpatched)
  CMDB 7.6 Patch 001
Remedy User Tool 7.5 Patch 003A

In the trace below, I am hovering over the Change top-left box on the Change
Management Query screen (containing Change ID*+, Coordinator Group*+, Change
Coordinator+, and Change Location).

The Action 0 nulls the tool-tip field and the Action 1 sets the tool-tip
field using TEMPLATE function.

Where is the TEMPLATE function evaluated?
Can it be logged?

We are seeing a short delay in displaying the tool-tip which is not related
to the Hover Wait Time in Milliseconds setting in the Tooltop Hover Wait
Time settings within the user preference record or Tools->Options.

Reproducible on the above setup in a server group setting, by placing cursor
into a field (so that you can see it flashing) and then hovering over the
area with the tool-tip. After the hover-wait-time is used, the cursor stops
flashing and the server evaluates the TEMPLATE function. On the server-group
setup - this can take between 5-20 seconds (and sometimes longer) giving the
user the impression that the app has "frozen".

Using the same user tool on a single server (not in server group) does not
display the same issue. Using a 7.6.0.3 user tool against either server does
not display the same issue.

I am going mad trying to track/trace this down so if someone can enlighten
me as to where this is evaluated or logged - perhaps I can find empirical
evidence to support this.

I have tried ARAPILOGGING=2 but that didnt show much, nor did Midtier
logging (I thought it may have been midtier parsing the template).

Any help? Thanks in advance!

Regards
Dave Morgan
