Re: Making multiple SRD's offline.
Hi, You can update these from the Service Request Definition Display Properties (SRD:ServiceRequestDefinition_DispProp) form using Modify All - however you will need to click away from the entries once you have done the modification to be prompted to save the records or use the buttons in the User Tool. If using the Web, the Save button is available. Re: Any clue why this is happening?
Hmm, in my case it seems like the field is not behaving as an inline field in the Subject line for some reason. If it is taking on the behavior of a selected field then that is unfortunate since anyone using row-level permissions on the Request ID field will not be able to include that field in the Subject line. ___ Rick Westbrock QMX Support Services -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Misi Mladoniczky Sent: Thursday, June 20, 2013 5:50 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Any clue why this is happening? Re: Any clue why this is happening?
Something to think aboutmaybe this IS fixed I have quite often seen things that when I upgrade, it breaks my system, then as I investigate my problem, I find that in previous versions, proper permissions weren't being applied to my data, and the upgrade fixed a permissions hole that I was inadvertently using. So the upgrade in my situations, while breaking my workflow, actually made my workflow work correctly, and I needed to update the permissions on the system to allow my workflow to work the way I intended it (not knowing I was taking advantage of a security hole)... So...in this situation, if previous versions allowed field data to go out in an email, when the recipient couldn't be verified to have proper permission to that datathen the upgrade is properly enforcing permissions, and there is NOT going to be a backwards slide in that security model... That is exactly what I hear being discussed here...so I suspect if your notifications are sending out information that the recipient can't be verified has permission to, you can likely fully expect it to not be sent out :) On Thu, Jun 20, 2013 at 10:24 AM, Pruitt, Christopher (Bank of America Account) christopher.pru...@hp.com wrote: I truly hope they get this fixed before we make that upgrade next year to 8.1. Asset Management Keys and Versions 7.6.4
I worked extensively on Asset Management in 7.0.3, and while I've done some things with it after upgrading to 7.6.4, I've not looked into this yet. Specifically, my user is asking where to enter license key information. If I do a search of forms, I see the Keys and Versions table, but I can't find a way to get to it from either the Contract Management Console or the SAM Console. It seems like going into a Software License Contract and adding a License Certificate would be the right place to find it, but there are no fields such as on the Keys and Versions form like License Key. Does anyone have any idea how to get to this data? he system? Lost view in Database of T852
I seem to have lost a view in the database. The error message I'm getting is ARERR [552] Failure during SQL operation to the database : Could not use view or function 'T885' because of binding errors. (SQL Server 4413)Invalid object name 'T852'. (SQL Server 208) This happened before about 5 years ago and the solution was to save the form again which rebuilt the view. Unfortunately, since 5 years ago, auditors have restricted the visibility of the database and I can't figure out which forms relate to T852 and T885. Anybody able to offer a suggestion? Re: Asset Management Keys and Versions 7.6.4
The concept of License Keys is not speicifically captured, the recommendation is to create a CI type document with this information and then relate it to the Software Contract. You can also create a Work Info entry on the Software Contract with the License Key as the Work Info Type. Re: Any clue why this is happening?
Hi, It has worked like this between 2.0 and 7.6, so fixing it in 8.0 will certainly break a few systems. My suggestion to use the new filter run-as System/User thing would give you all the options. That would be the way to go I think. Filters has always been running with Admin permissions. And the notify-selected-fields has been pretty much the only exception to this rule. And they logged this as a defect, right? Best Regards - Misi, RRR AB, http://www.rrr.se (ARSList MVP 2011) Products from RRR Scandinavia (Best R.O.I. Find these products, and many free tools and utilities, at http://rrr.se. The selected fields (not inline) has always been subject to permissions, but inline fields did not. An inline field is somthing you put in the text such as: Dear $Name$, you request $Short Description$ has been registered. Taking into the consideration regarding comments people made about permissions, I checked those. Public already had 'view' permissions so I up'd it to Change. No difference. I think I'll try change what field is there and then maybe back again. Stranger fixes have worked before. Thanks. The other thing I thought about was putting the license key in the Certificate ID field of the License Certificate. I don’t know if that would cause problems or not, but we have a few client apps that are licensed individually so I’m trying to find a simple way to give them to track license keys. Hopefully the person that made the decision to remove that functionality (and leave the form around behind the scenes) is no longer a BMC employee. It’s kind of dumb to have a Software Asset Management system that can’t even track a license key. Preventing a user from closing a dialog box on the web ....
I was wondering if someone could help us with a requirement we have. We want to make the risk questionnaire required. This means the user will not be allowed to close the dialog until it is filled out. Is there a way to prevent a user from closing a dialog box on the web? In our testing we found you can hit the X in the corner to get around our requirement. We have the option unchecked in the active link called Show Close Button. This works as desired on the User tool. However, on the mid tier the user is presented with an option of Leave this Page or Stay on this Page. Any way to prevent this or any workarounds out there? I have a gut feeling the answer is No because it is built in the browser to prevent this very scenario because of pop-up ads. Re: Lost view in Database of T852
Its probably happened when there was a timeout when you were updating a table after adding or dropping a field. When the table restructures the Tn table gets copied to a new table TnA with the new table structure, copies the contents of Tn to TnA, and then drops Tn and renames TnA to Tn. Something in between might have failed and you probably now have a table called T885A in your database. Solution: Don't open a dialog. You can't prevent people from closing windows, and popups can and will be blocked by browsers.
