and it will take care of everything? (or am I out of luck) ?

Please advise.

Fortunately we had another installation that had the forms/workflow.

Mine was (according to BMC) due to an issue with installing the SLM module -
They said it removed something like 79 items. it is a known issue and there
is a KB (unfortunately I did not save the KB number - and a hot fix - but

Re: ARERR 623 Authentication Failed Error

2014-05-21 Thread Ortega, Jesus A
I saw this issue yesterday when I was trying to set up SSO on my midtiers. We
are using a load-balancer as well, but the problem was not being caused by
that. The problem is that SSO is set up to use Areahub and two associated
plugins, which are arealdap.dll and areasso.dll. It seems that Remedy is using
a new authentication method for AREA and it conflicts with arealdap.dll. To
resolve this issue I had to change the ar.cfg file and comment out this line:
Server-Plugin-Alias: AREA AREA
If you see the line Plugin: "D:\Program Files\BMC
Software\ARSystem\arealdap\arealdap.dll" in your ar.cfg and
Server-Plugin-Alias: AREA AREA , then you could have a conflict
that will end up causing you an ARERR 623 Authentication Failed Error. You may
find that your AD account gets locked out as well because of this.

Silent Install for Older ARS Versions

2014-05-21 Thread Raj
Hi All,
I am working on ARS Upgrade from v5.1.2 to
v8.1.01(>v6.3>v7.1>v7.6.04>v8.1.01).
During these runs I was very impressed with using Silent Installs with
versions 7.6.04 & 8.1.01 and would prefer them over other methods.
Was wondering, if Silent Install option is also available for versions (ARS
upgrade to) 6.3 & 7.1 ?

Searched in the ARS Installation docs for v6.3, v7.1 but can't find them.
Please advise.
Regards,
Raj

2014-05-21 Thread William Rentfrow
Whoever is in charge of your load balancer should be able to trace the client
IP where the error is happening and all of it's traffic through the load
balancer to each server it is sending traffic to.

Most of the time the "sticky" setting on the load balancer is not set to match
the timeout setting on the mid-tier.

Re: ARERR 623 Authentication Failed Error

2014-05-21 Thread Roger Justice
When I saw this issue previously the loadbalancer was not properly configured
and when the return to the homepage was requested a different mid tier was
called that requires another login to authenticate the user.

Do you have multiple Mid-tiers, I have seen this when a load balancer is not
properly configured. Please include the version you are working with.

Re: Data in server-side table fields is read-only.

2014-05-21 Thread Misi Mladoniczky
Hi,

You can not just "save" data from any table to the database, either server or
client side.

The only way to update data in the database is by doing a Push-Fields action.
This must be done with a table-walk (call-guide triggering a bunch of
push-fields).

On the client side the user can edit data in some table-columns, or you can
use Set-Fields to change it, but this has nothing to do with the database. To
push this changed data to the database, you still have to do the table-walk.

On the server side the data in the table always reflects what is in the
database, so there is never any changes to save. You might want to change the
data to something else though, for example setting 'Priority' = "High" on all
the rows. If that is what you want to do you can skip the table completely and
just do a single push-fields and update all-matching-entries.

I have not read the entire thread, but it seems like we do not know what you
want to accomplish. Can you please tell us what you want to do?
