Re: DMT data upload issue.

2014-06-30 Thread Carl Wilson
Hi,

2 potential issues appear in the log file:

· UDM Directory appears not to be set or set to a directory with the
incorrect permissions to allow creation of the sub folders "{JOB DIR}" where
the converted spread sheets are kept during the import.
https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/public/itsm81/Configuring+the+BMC+Remedy+AR+System+repository+for+attachments+and+spreadsheets

· The spreadsheet does not have the correct extension, although I think
this error is a by-product of the first error as it cannot store the temp file.

Thanks for your kind response.

The escalations are enabled on the server but still the issue exists.

Early response is highly appreciated.

Goal Set on App form is not working for Service Targets

2014-06-30 Thread Shambo Maitra
Hi,
In our production environment, we had used 'Goal Set on App form' to calculate
the service target based on custom field in HPD:Help Desk.

Although we can see the custom field is getting set but in SLM:Measurement
ReferenceEndGoalforRequestBasedSVTsFieldValue field is empty even in OOTB
filter created during Data Source rebuild is mapped with custom field which is
getting set.

We can't reproduce as it is production.
Please suggest if anyone faced similar issue and got any resoution.
Regards,
Shambo.

Re: Question on filter phasing

2014-06-30 Thread Misi Mladoniczky
Hi,

Filter phasing and the order in which things are run is clearly printed in the
log-files (ESCL+API+FLTR+SQL is what I typically put in the same file).

You might need a good tool to assist in reading the files as Notepad might not
make it clear enough (ADV: RRR|Log).

I you do not meddle with filter phasing, which is very seldom needed, and
treat each modification of data on it's own merits, checking changed field
values ('Data'!='DB.Data') instead of obscure read-only-field-triggers ('z1D
Action' = "blablabla"), you will have no big problems at all. But I have seen
many examples of filter design that is not very well structured...

Re: How to generate .arx file in ITSM 7.6.04

2014-06-30 Thread Misi Mladoniczky
Hi,

You might want to try RRR|Chive. The tool can both export and import
ARX-files, and it is free to use it.

One great benefit is that it can actually do Delta-exports to your ARX-files
speeding consecutive exports significantly (and yes, the delta-export will
remove deleted records from the ARX-file).

In 7.6.4, you can still execute RUNMACRO from the command line. It will
dump to .arx.

After 7.6.4, you'll have to use ARExport.

Just looked at local logs when logging into both App servers (active link,
filters, sql, API) and they are the same. I'm looking into the DB right now.

This is so weird

that might have affected how the records were created, and what their settings
are, but it shouldn't affect how they look when viewed by one server vs the
other. One thing you can do is to turn on AL/Filter logging on each server and
see if there is anything updating the row on get, or something similar...even
this should be the same between servers...but sometimes things can get out of
sync...

Good question, I'll get with our DB guy to get this info (we don't have

One theory we having is that one of the servers (server 1 that only has

checked on by default) and that might have something to do with it. While
Server 2, we unchecked it.

We did eventually find this out and unchecked MultiTenancy on server 1
after the fact, but the CMDB Row Level fields never changed back.

Lisa, what does it show when you look at the row in the DB, via SQL
tools?

I don't know how you would be seeing different results one one server
