Upgrading from 7.6.04 SP4 to 8.1 - Folder only has 0 MB of Free Disk Space

2014-12-23 Thread Kemes, Lisa A DLA CTR INFORMATION OPERATIONS
I'm getting an error that my installation folder only has 0 MB of free Disk
Space and I have over 4 GB's of Free Disk Space. I researched this and some
people suggested updating the TEMP environment which I have done, but to no
avail. Is there anything else I need to check? I'm an administrator on the
folders. This is a Windows Server. I was able to upgrade my other server from
8.1.01 to 8.1 SP2 without any problems (same server type and structure).

Any ideas?

Lisa,

On the server where you are installing, set the Folder View to Show hidden
files, folders and drives
Open
C:\Users\YOUR PROFILE NAME\Application Data\Local\Temp
Clear the Temp folder.
Unzip the zipped install file again and run the install.

Thank you,

Sandra

Just to confirm, did you extract the install files before running the installer?

I have seen this when you open the downloaded zipped file directly by double
clicking and running the installer?

Try this,
Right click downloaded zip file and extract using winzip or any other third
party utility to a folder on your d drive. This will extract all files to the
directory specified. Run the installer from there

Re: Upgrading from 7.6.04 SP4 to 8.1 - Folder only has 0 MB of Free Disk Space

2014-12-23 Thread Kemes, Lisa A DLA CTR INFORMATION OPERATIONS
Hi Anish!

I did not run the installer from the zip file. I open up the zip file and take
the disk1 folder and move it under the D: drive and then double click on the
setup file.

Maybe I just need to uninstall 7.6.04 sp4 and just install a fresh 8.1 sp2.

I did this and have plenty of space on my C drive (over 4GB) and on my D drive

I'm pretty sure that this has not changed in 8.1, but in 7.6, the Config guide
says:

Obsolete - Record is no longer used but it is kept in the system for reference.
The record should not be deleted. It is no longer available for selection.

Offline - Record has been taken out of Enabled status for a period of time with
the intent of enabling it again in the future. The record is no longer
available for

Personally I would do the install like this ...

Shift Right-Click on the Disk1 folder you extracted to the D drive and choose
Open command Window here
In the command prompt do:
SET TEMP=D:\TEMP
SET TMP=D:\TEMP
setup.cmd

This will set the environment to the temp folder you want the install to use
and will also run the install as admin.

Re: ITSM Support Groups

2014-12-23 Thread Brian Goralczyk
Leonard,

Thanks for the definition. I am looking more from a functional level. I
am hoping someone knows a trick to allowing a support group to finish up
the open tickets they have but not allow any more tickets to be assigned to
the support group.

 Brian,

I'm pretty sure that this has not changed in 8.1, but in 7.6, the Config
 guide says:

Obsolete - Record is no longer used but it is kept in the system for
 reference.

The record should not be deleted. It is no longer available for selection.

Offline - Record has been taken out of Enabled status for a period of time
 with

the intent of enabling it again in the future. The record is no longer
 available for

 selection.

What is the difference between obsolete and offline in ITSM 8.1?

I need to allow the tickets assigned to the group to be completed without

 Any suggestions?

Not sure I understand why that wouldn't work. Setting a support group to
Offline doesn't alter the visibility of Incidents that are already assigned
to that group. So, those incidents should still be visible in the IM Console,
and searchable. I does however, prevent that support group from being selected
for assignment - Which is what it sounded like you end goal was?

Re: Deleting Overlays - Nightmare

2014-12-23 Thread Virgilio Felonia
Well, when I upgraded our cmdb atrium from 8.0 to 8.1, I have to delete the
overlays using the Dev Studio for BMC:CORE and they were restored back to
UnModified or Original objects (OOTB). But I have to make sure I have a the db
backup, backup of the cmdb and the forms using dev studio in case I have to
rollback. So after the overlays were deleted , I was able to patch or upgrade
the ATrium to 8.1.1, without any errors.

Before you go bald
First check to make sure the temp variable is set.
Go to Start Run %TEMP%
This should open an explorer window at C:\Temp
If it does, check the folder permissions
You may need to also set the %TMP% variable
Same procedure as the %TEMP% variable

I'm getting an error that my installation folder only has 0 MB of free Disk
Space and I have over 4 GB's of Free Disk Space. I researched this and some
people suggested updating the TEMP environment which I have done, but to no
avail. Is there anything else I need to check? I'm an administrator on the
folders. This is a Windows Server. I was able to upgrade my other server from
8.1.01 to 8.1 SP2 without any problems (same server type and structure).

Any ideas?

Hi,
Although you are running as Administrator have you checked the permissions
(write) on the folder where the installer is running from and the intended
