I have a join form. I created a report that runs off that from. In the report I have a qualification. When I select the report it runs but it does not filter on the qualification. When run in the user tool and filter on the qualification it works. Why doesn't it work in the report console when I add the qualification. No error is generated. Re: Custom App vs Out of the Box questions
Rick, I agree totally. As a development team we fully understand that. I am just trying to get some additional information to pass along. I am also interested in saving money by getting off applications. The maintenance is just ridiculous IMHO. Additionally the management group needs to here it from someone else. Thanks for the response. One of the stated aims of my management at the time was to reduce the application customisations, to allow for easier on-going maintenance (as there was no official full time Remedy developer, although that was probably what I spent a good 90% of my time doing). From memory, the applications we were using had a fair amount of customisation, split evenly between actual workflow and the look/feel of the applications. On the migration from one suite to the other, my initial concern was the look and feel - I knew how resistant our user base would be to major changes to the look and feel (mild version of we don't like change round here), so had to come up with some happy medium between the mildly nightmarish v4 suite that we'd got in place, and the clean look of the v6 apps. I was fairly lucky with the workflow changes though - I'd been working with the applications for quite a while, knew them inside out, so knew the basics that needed to be migrated to keep the business happy, so just had to spend time working through the v6 apps to see if there was anything new in there that would replace what needed to be migrated. I'd figure we went from about 20% customised to between 5 and 10%. At the current employers, at least on the helpdesk apps, the customisations are probably more like 50%, which will make for a most entertaining time in the possible migration to v7. Re: Email Engine used for paging
I would agree with the statement below. Since you are sending the text via e-mail I would contact the vendor. That is the provider that you are trying to send to. The will be able to see what they are getting from you and what happens to it. I used to call the paging providers regularly. Back when we just had pagers. You may need to insist on getting a true tech/support person if the person answering the phone can not answer your question. There are some very good 3rd party software that will pass the paging stuff for you too. I have had a great deal of success with Telalert which is now Vytek or something like that. Also check with your e-mail person to ensure that the message is leaving your domain. It will say sent in the Remedy e-mail message but may not go out. There are some good articles on SNPP out there. I would suggest you take a look at them. Cheers Andy On Mon, 22 Jan 2007 10:49:52 -0700, L. J. Head [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Well...as you can tell...Email is not a guaranteed delivery scenario. User World 2007
Maybe it's been brought up before? What are folks opinion about User World being help on and around Halloween this year? I sent a note to BMC and the response was as follows: We felt that the draw of the Vancouver area and the content we will be able to offer in late October was worth the sacrifice of missing Halloween at home. It's nice to know that they think that time with them is more important than time with the family at home. So, just curious, what does everyone else think? cheers Andy ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org ARSlist:Where the Answers Are
