Analytics 7.6.06 server issue

2015-02-20 Thread Daniel Pritchard
Good Morning

I have an Analytics 7.6.06 server that was previously installed on a
Windows 2008 R2 with a SQL database. The servers seem to be up and running
and I can log into the CMC as well as the BI Launchpad as well as the
Universe designer.

The issue I am having is that the Universe does not exist and there are
missing ITSM reports. The folders under \Filestore\Input folder do not
exist.

I re-ran the Analytics 7.6.06 with the hopes that it would re-add the
universe and reports. This did not fix the issues.

Is there a way to get the ITSM Universe as well as the reports back if
there were no backups?

AREA LDAP SSL

2014-02-10 Thread Daniel Pritchard
We are running ARS 7.6.04 SP2 on a Windows 2008 Server.

Our LDAP servers were changed to require SSL connections to LDAP yesterday,
without any warning. Our remedy servers will no longer let users in. I need
to enable SSL in LDAP but am having trouble finding out how to create the
certificate database. We are running on a Secure system so I am unable to
download any additional software to do this.

Is there a way to create the cert7.db file using software from the windows 2008
server or remedy?

Rich,
Where is the alias feature at in Remedy. I am not familiar with this. I
agree with the EDIPI number, I do not want to change the Login ID's from
firstname.lastname and would love a solution for this.

Dan, one thing you should look into is using the authentication alias
feature built into Remedy. Basically, you put the EDIPI in the alias
field, and LDAP authenticates against it, which it reads from the CAC. If
you put the EDIPI in the Login ID field, you're in for a host of problems.

authentication. I have installed Atrium SSO, configured it and with the
help of the Hotfix provided by Remedy, which allows to map SSO usernames to
Remedy Usernames, have it basically working.

Here is my problem. Atrium SSO uses the full Common Name off of the
CAC, i.e. LASTNAME.FIRSTNAME.MI.**EDIPINUMBER, when it creates its
users and this is what it passes to Remedy when logging in users. I can
store that in the mapping file that maps it to the users but we currently
have around 10k users in our system. First off getting all 10k users to
provide the CN from thier CAC's would be near impossible not to mention
 maintaining the mapping file.

What I would like to know is have any of you created or come a cross a
way to strip off the LASTNAME.FIRSTNAME.MI from the CN and just pass the
EDIPI number to remedy. I can pull that from my Active Directory to update
 the mapping file if needed.

The next question is have any of you created or come across a way to
store the EDIPI number in the People form, like in the Corporate ID field,
and have the mid-tier cross reference the EDIPI number or CN to that field
and then log in the user with their username.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are two reserved fields you would add to the user form. Depending
on how you want to populate those fields, you can add a bit of workflow to
however you add users to capture the data.

We are building and testing a new system. 7.6.04 on a Windows 2008
server. We have data from our production system on there already
and we are now testing full functionality of the system. If we set
the next id to what we want it, say 35000, and then do some test
tickets, can we go back in after testing and delete those tickets and
reset the next id back to 35000 and be ok?
Management wants us to set it to a high number then run tests for a
week or so (approximately 3000 tickets) and then if everything is good
they want us to set it back to the starting number and go live. Can
 we do this?
