Reconciliation Engine timeout errors

2007-08-09 Thread Jake Taylor

Dear listers,

Hope someone out there can help or provide some advice on these
database timeout errors we've been getting during the Merge activity on
our SMS to CMDB reconciliation job merge. Our DBA hasn't been of much
help.

The system (and all the clients) then freeze and we just have to bounce
the AR Server to come back up. Any advice/tips would be appreciated!!

We're running ARS 7.01 p2, ITSM 7.0 p3, CMDB 2.01 on  AIX 5.3.

Thanks in advance!

ITSM 7 - renaming "My Company"

2007-04-20 Thread Jake Taylor
**

Hi Listers,

We are just a few weeks away from going live with our ITSM 7
implementation and have pretty much completed our configuration on the
apps.

However, a new requirement has surfaced that will require us to use the
multi-tenancy feature and add another operating company. My question is
- can we rename the default "My Company" to our company name (NYP)?

- how do we do this? In the Company form, the company name is read-only.
- will this change cascade down to all the configurations we've already
done?
- any other 'gotchas' ?

Thanks for any information you may provide.

Approval Server - One Must Sign/All Must Sign

2007-03-22 Thread Jake Taylor
**

Hi Listers,

We need to configure the Approval Server for Change Mgmt 7 (ITSM 7) so
that, say, only 6 out of 10 people on the Approver List need to approve
a CR before it moves on to the next status. The out-of-the-box Approval
Server rules allow for the "One Must Sign" or "All Must Sign" model,
but we need to implement different rules for different scenarios - for
example, if it's an Emergency Change, then only 4 must sign, not the 10
approval board members.

So I was wondering if anyone on the list has done a similar
configuration or written workflow to permit the scenario above. Any
comments/advice would be welcome. Thanks!

Pushing data to the CTM:People form in ITSM 7

2007-01-05 Thread Jake Taylor
Dear listers,

Unlike the SHR:People form in previous ITSM versions, the CTM:People form
in ITSM7 is linked to about a dozen other people-related forms, making the
process of populating this form (and its related forms) quite difficult and
complex.

We've been able to import our People information into a custom-built form
where it now resides (on ARS7). The next step is to push this data (around
37k records) to the ITSM7 People forms.

I was just wondering if anyone out there has successfully done this and, if
so, what steps did you take to accomplish this?

Thanks very much in advance.

Regards,

Jake Taylor

CSV file feed into Remedy

2006-12-26 Thread Jake Taylor
Hello Listers,

This may seem pretty straightforward, but I've never done it before. Our
systems people are dropping a CSV file (could be a plain text file) onto
our Remedy server. What we need to do is read this file automatically (on a
scheduled basis) into the People form of our ITSM 7 suite.

What would be the easiest way to go about doing this? Would a vendor form +
and escalation suffice? Or would we need to write some sort of script to
import the data into Remedy?

Any and all advice and comments are welcome. Thanks in advance, and Happy
Holidays!
