ARJAVAPLUGIN Timeout setting (web service consumption)
Hello, I am able to use a filter to successfully consume a remote web service when the filter runs on a Solaris, Oracle, AR 7.6.04 system. The same filter, however, generates a timeout error (see arjavaplugin.log below) indicating a ws timeout of 2 seconds when I run it on a Windows/MSSQL/AR7.6.04 SP4 system. Apparently, the default web service (axis?) timeout is only 2 seconds for the windows install compared to the Solaris/oracle install. The windows system arjavaplugin seems to be ok fundamentally, however, since other ws calls are working. When I migrated the workflow to the Solaris system to compare the results, I used exactly the same data and I am consuming the same target web service. Does anyone know how to adjust the timeout related to the error seen in the log below? (see yellow below) This does not seem to be related to the typical AR timeouts which are shown below:. There is no Server-Plugin-Default-Timeout setting in the ar.cfg file so based on documentation it should default to 60 seconds (not sure if this applies). [cid:image001.png@01CECDBA.670735E0] Thanks for any insight you may have on this issue. Install ITSM 7.6.04 with SQL 2012?
Hello, I am planning on installing ITSM 7.6.04 using VMWare/Windows/MSSQL. Since SQL 2012 is fairly new I wanted to check if there are any known problems with this version of the database. Do you recommend going with SQL 2012 or 2008 R2? Thanks for your suggestions. Ken Leihkauff North American Integrated Services Management Center (NAISMC) Science Applications International Corp. Problem Importing Definitions (7.6.04SP1)
Hello, We are having peculiar symptoms when importing some definition files. (The definition files were exported from a 7.6.04SP1 system.) If I export a deployable application or a fairly large set of forms and related workflow (say 40 forms), I am able to import the definitions into a NEWLY installed AR 7.6.04SP1 system with no problems. But, if I try to import this same file into an UPGRADED 7.6.04SP1 system, the import fails. There are no errors and the import appears to terminate normally, but nothing is actually imported. If I decrease the number of objects to 4 or 5 forms then it will import ok. Again, notice that it works flawlessly with a NEWLY installed AR 7.6 but only fails when trying to import to any of our UPGRADED 7.6 systems. All these upgraded systems appear to function and perform properly from a user perspective. While running the import against one of the upgraded 7.6 systems, I enabled API and SQL logging, but there are no API or ORA errors. Background: All UPGRADED systems were from 7.1p6 to 7.6.04SP1, and Oracle 10g to 11g. All NEW systems are 7.6.04SP1 with Oracle 11g. All systems are Solaris 10 for AR and Oracle. We do not use AR Server Groups. Thanks for any insight you may have regarding this issue. I've submitted a ticket to BMC but they have not indicated this is a known problem. More specifically, I'm upgrading 7.1 patch 6 ARS to 7.6.04 SP1 ARS. This is Solaris 10, Oracle 11g. The installer completes as failed with the following errors (see below). We manually fixed the first error at the Oracle level and then re-ran the installer, but keep getting the same type of errors but on different AR data dictionary tables/columns. Each time one of the columns is fixed and the installer is re-run, it appears to advance and find yet another of the same type of problems. The ORA-01439 error suggests that it wants to change the data type. For example, in the last error below, the 7.1 data dictionary documentations shows this column to be an integer, and the 7.6 installer wants to change it to a number(15). But, because there is data in the column, it fails. The installer does not appear to have been written to handle this. I would expect lots of people would be getting this error for upgrading 7.1 to 7.6, and BMC would need to fix the installer. Thoughts, insight? Thank you! Email Engine Scaling
Hello, Background: We have an AR system running 7.1, Oracle 10g, Solaris 10. The ARS is running on the same server as the database; there is no Server Group configuration. Question: To scale the email engine, is it possible to run two instances of the email engine on the same server and configure each to process separate defined mailboxes in the AR System Email Configuration form? Based on the email engine documentation, this seems to be supported. Do you recommend doing this when you are not using a server group and need to scale to accommodate a considerably higher volume of messages. The current configuration (with adjustments to the email properties file) performs well, however, we are concerned that the email engine may backlog when we double the total volume of outgoing messages (we will be doubling the activity in a couple of days).
