Applications Running:

*   Remedy Server 7.5 Patch 003
*   SRM 7.6
*   ITSM 7.6

Does anyone know how SRM processes answers to questions when they are pushed to
a back end application such as Incident mgmt? We have come across a problem
where the answers to our questions in SRM are pushed to the Incident in a
random order - they are not sorted in any way.

For example, in SRM I can have the following questions setup:

Question 1

Question 2

Question 3

Question 4

Question 5

Those 4 questions are then mapped to be pushed back to the Notes field on the
Incident form, however they come out as :

Question 2: Answer 2

Question 1: Answer 1

Question 5: Answer 5

Question 3: Answer 3

Question 4: Answer 4

Although it may seem a small thing, it is really irritating for our support
staff especially if there are lots of questions that build up to something...I
have checked our questions mapping on the SRD's and they are in the right order
when they appear in SRM to the end user - however they get messed up during
their transfer to the back end application.

Does anyone know how we can either put a sort order on the answers or if there
is a way that we can instruct Remedy to process the answers?

Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Brad

Check your phasing.
You could be trying to do the push/create in Phase 2, yet you are trying
to pull the incident # back in Phase 1.
And the filter that is doing the set fields on the HPD:IncidentInterface
could be defined that on Set Fields if No Requests Match: Display 'No
Match' Error.

Run your logs and see what Phase order things are occurring in.

Prasanth,

I've had this happen in the past and it took me a bit to find the fix for our
environment. Below is how I have our environment working. I should say I have
this working without official training or much Remedy experience. There may be
a better way to do this.

The SRD has Nav Cats 1, 2 and 3.
The same Cats have to exist and be enabled on the Operational Company
Relationship form On the Assignment Configuration form there needs to be a
record where the Op Cat fields match the Cat fields on the SRD and the
Operational Company Relationship record.

Actually, I have two records for the Op Cats in the Assignment form.
One is for categorization on the SR. This record has the Event defined as
Service Request Assignee with a Sort Order of 0.

The second Assignment record is to create the INC and the Event is defined as
-General- with a Sort Order of 1.

On both Assignment records I have only the Company defined in the Contact
(Order 1) and Location (Order 2) sections. In the Product Cat (Order 4) Section
I have all those fields empty. (I credit our IBM support at the time for
helping me with the Sort Order and how it affected assignment)

I hope this helps. We experienced this on INC and CHG (Don't use WO) and the
above fixed the issue for us.

We've installed v7.5 P5 (now patch 6) on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise
and SQL Server 2008 Enterprise and haven't noticed any problems. We're
pretty comfortable with the midtier servers but we're still testing the
database servers.

We're not using ITSM so I can't provide any information on that

What version of the ARS? :-)

This might be important to know as sometimes on a version of ARS that is
not compatible with a higher DB version, you need to run the
sp_dbcmptlevel stored proceedure to bring down the compatibility level
of the database in order for ARS to work..
