Software Contract 'Software Module'

2010-03-23 Thread Robert Thomas
ARSlist,

When creating 'Software Contracts' adding new keys to the contract there
is a field called 'Software Module'. What is this field used for?

There is no (BMC Software) documentation associated to this field.

Any ideals with this field is used for? No workflow associated with the
field.

Thanks for your Advance,

Positive or negative inputs are more then welcome!

Question Advance Query 1=0

2009-10-15 Thread Robert Thomas
ARSList,

Here is a interesting question for the list. I was presented a question
about 1=1 and 1=0 on the advance query bar. This qualification is used
in out of the box Service Level Targets for ITSM 7.1. (1=0).

Why would you use 1=0?

How would you use 1=0?

Can anybody explain?

Re: Question: SYS:Notification Messages

2008-05-23 Thread Robert Thomas
I think the last filter (order 102) it does a exit guide after the set
field. The filter probably will work if you remove the exit guide from 102,
the save as filter add the exit guide on (order 103).

I followed the directions for adding a custom field to Notifications
and it worked - thank you very much.

The one question I have that seems odd - in the directions it says to
open one of the translated filters and do a save as - this makes sense
because you don't want to modify Remedy's workflow.

So I opened NTE:SHR:TranslateNotificationMessageINC3_102 and did a
Save As and called it NTE:SHR:TranslateNotificationMessageINC4_103
and set the execution order to 103.

I then modified the Filter Guide NTE:SHR:TranslateNTMessages and
included my new Filter NTE:SHR:TranslateNotificationMessageINC4_103
right after NTE:SHR:TranslateNotificationMessageINC3_102.

The problem is the notification did not work. So I removed
NTE:SHR:TranslateNotificationMessageINC4_103 from the Filter Guide
and modified NTE:SHR:TranslateNotificationMessageINC3_102 and added
my field to Remedy's Filter and it worked.

Not sure why my own Filter didn't work. Has anyone had luck with this?

THANKS!!!

Hhmm... If I were sure that there was a value in that change record for
Change Type, the only next step I would take would be to log it and ensure
that the Z field is getting set as the filter indicates. Other than that,
I don't have any more rabbits up my sleeve - sorry. -Original

Tadeu,

I don’t think it’s a matter of what the system allows, but
what is best practices. There is no single right answer. You have to
consider how many records are in the table, what the most common searches
will be, etc. It’s something that you need to work with a DBA on.
They can run SQL Profiler and other tools to be able to determine what is
causing the most slowdowns in the queries. Then, when you look at that
and see the need for a new index, you can create a new one.

Hi all,

I'd like to know if has a white paper that describes what's max number of
index to a form...

I've read a document from 2003 and I've noticed that more than 7 index
(or 4 composite index) in one form is bad...

I have an application that has a form with 8 index (some of them
composite index) ... and we're having problems with performance (searches
in database).. I'd like to know if it's possible to insert more index in
this form!

Remembering: I'd like to improve performance...

** For outgoing mail you will need to configure Sendmail. Run a ps -elf
| grep -i sendmail. This will search the process table to see if
sendmail is running. If it is, you're good to go unless you need some
site-specific tweaks for your organization. You may also check out the
startup script by doing a grep sendmail /etc/rc*.*/*. This will find the
sendmail startup script for you. Dave Wilmot Rapid Technologies, Inc.303

Single Sign-On

2006-04-26 Thread Robert Thomas

• Solaris 9
• ARS 6.3 Patch 14.
• Oracle 9i

Have anybody tried to integrate a Single Sign-On? Is there any solid
documentation on the following?
-Creating the API Plug-in for Solaris
-Modifying the Jsp pages using multiple forms as the home page.
Any help would be greatly appreciated …
