Have you checked the AsyncInterval and ConfigInterval in aie.cfg file? You may
want to bump it up to see if the frequency of message goes down.

Thanks,

Subject: AIE. Annoying message every minute in log file

Hi,

I have configured Atrium Integration Engine 7.6.00 Patch 002 and Data
Exchanges are working correctly. I have configured them to be executed as
'event driven'. However, every minute is appearing the next annoying message
on each DataExchanges log file:

TimedEventDrivenExchange: No event-driven requests ready to process in async
queue

Is there any way to avoid this message?

In aie.cfg I have set DebugOn to Yes, because for each data exchange I need
to get a log with the result. Also In data exchanges advanced settings I
just have ennabled debug logging to Yes and the rest of debug level options
(tread based, api, sql and so.. ) unmarked.

Kind regards,
Sergio Tomillero

Do you guys do the database and Application server back up. You may want to
consider restoring from the backup if it is in place.

Hugo,

An incompatible version of Java may do a lot of other things but cannot prevent
the AR System from starting. The AR System Server itself does not depend on JRE
or JDK, its sub systems such as web services, mid tier, email engine etc do..

So somehow I doubt the update of Java has caused that problem. Its something
else.

If its UNIX, have you changed the environment or the .profile of the user that
starts the AR System in any way? I am assuming you are on windows because you
said you updated only the ar.cfg file upon updating Java.. On UNIX you would
have needed to update that in the server startup script too.

What OS are you dealing with? What's the version of the AR System and its
database? Have you tried starting the server in a debug mode?

Listers;

I'm having one of those issues that everyone loves on your production
environment.

ARS doesn't start up, the error log only displays the startup message but
armonitor indicates a timeout every 900 seconds; this came from a Java update,
I ran the patch 11 installer just to try Remedy to pick up the new java version.

I've tried to point the OS and the ar.cfg file to a latest java version but no
luck, does anyone has seen this before?

With all Remote databases I try to create a local database view of the remote
table. This way the ARS system doesn't have to deal with the fact that it is
remote (which is a plus when you have a Dev/Test/Prod environment setup and you
need to move your code between environments). In ARS you simply create a View
form against the local view of the remote data.

We are attempting to create our first View Form, SQL database to a Oracle

syntax of the table that I am putting in the field before I press Load. The
Admin Tool appears to be looking for sysobjects, instead of the Linked Server.
The examples in the documentation are poor.

Admin Tool error message:

We are able to query the Linked Server from SQL Studio. I am able to create a
view on the SQL server that looks at the Linked Server and create the View Form
using that view, but when I run a selection from the View Form, it takes 50+
seconds.

Can anyone provide the syntax that should be put in as the table we want to be
pointing to? Again, the documentation is not very clear.

Thank you in advance.

Just rolled this version out live for the company and group notifications for

Viki,

As Axton noted, although it looks BIG, ignore the C112 clauses in any WHERE
clause when looking at
AR System logs. This also includes any C60xxx fields. All of these clauses
will be at the end of the query.
They may be large (if you are in a lot of groups). They do not affect the
overall performance of the system.

So, you get down in this case to the very simply query Axton has indicated.
This is an UNQUALIFIED
search of the given table (T28).

First, do you have disallow unqualified queries server option set. This
command would indicate you do not
have this set. It is recommended that you do to control this type of
unqualified query from accidentally
happening.

If you turn on SQL logging at the AR System level, it will tell you a lot of
information.

   What login issued the command
   When
From what type of client (the client type can tell you it came from the
mid-tier or a specific utility or if 0, it
generally means from a custom API program)

If you turn on various types of logs, one might include the IP address too and
then you can see the user and
the IP address and track back to the machine the command is coming from.

All this can help track the problem.

But, setting the option to disallow unqualified queries may go a long way
toward helping to either stop
accidents or to cause someone to come and ask you why their unqualified search
stopped working

Note you have a little bit of a clue about the user. They are not an
Administrator and they are in all the
groups that show up in the query below that field 112 is being searched for.

I hope this helps,

Doug Mueller

Re: External Database for people record creation.

2010-10-07 Thread Siddiqi, Wirasat (Contractor)
If you want to import the people record for just once, Data Management Tool
would be a better option. But, if the people records to needs to be populated
on some kind of scheduled basis, you should be doing it using remedy workflow.
That would involve bringing the data from Oracle database to some staging form
using AIE and then validating the data. Once the data is validated, you can
push it to CTM:People form.

Looking for advice. I have an external oracle database. Which is a
distillation of our active directory database. I'd like to connect to this
database and create people and user records from it. What is the best way to
go about this.

My thoughts go to AIE to the CTM:LoadPeople form or possibly use the data mgmt
tool.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Re: 4.6 million records in people form

2010-10-07 Thread Siddiqi, Wirasat (Contractor)
I think SQL Server allows 8KB per row. So, space should not be a big issue.
However, you need to check with your DBA.
If 4.6 million are customers and not the user, I would suggest creating a
separate table for them instead of storing them in CTM:People form. Because,
CTM:people is referenced with so many tables and workflow and that might create
the performance issue.

In ITSM 7.1 I have come across no known bugs with querying the CTM:People form
from anywhere within the application, either through workflow, or other queries
designed...

So the question is more about any customization that you may have done that may
retrieve information from the CTM:People form to be set somewhere. Make sure
that the searches that are issued on such customization, are using appropriate
indexes, and if not, rebuild those qualifications if possible around existing
indexes, or create new indexes as appropriate to support those queries..

Respect this one cardinal rule, and you should be ok..

Hi ARSLIST,

I am thinking about importing all customers (4.6 million) into Remedy (ITSM
7.1).

The customers should not be users but only people. There will only be about 300
users and that is no problem.

The Remedy applications and database is running on separate servers. The DB
server is MS SQL 2005.

Do anybody have any experience about setup and performance with this amount of
records in the people form ?
Lookup in ITSM applications (Customer on incident form, Requester on Change
form etc) ?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards

Anne,

If it doesn't list the patch number, it is probably the first shipping version
of 7.5. That version had lots of bugs, although I do think the Working List did
work..

I have seen a lot of problems of the previous versions resolved by Patch 6. I
am pretty sure it may have introduced new problems but I'd suggest go with the
latest and the greatest.

Well, I have admin priviledges on my box, my developer tool is local, and I
hadn't even logged out and back in when they went away. I'm using 7.5, it
doesn't list a patch number. I can upgrade of course, but I think I'm going to
keep a separate list of what was in my working list elsewhere as well. It
sounds inherently unreliable.

Get into the habit to store the XML file that has the work list information on

This happens to me too, but I suspect that it is related to my working lists
being stored in a directory that is part of my roaming profile on the network.
It causes lots of issues, so I just assumed that the issue with my working
lists was related and moved on. It's a shame too, because it would be great to
have the same working lists available on any machine I log in to.

I should be able to search for those records in the Operational Catalog

Because we have this enabled for change incidents as well, but the system
