Re: Difference Report Tool

2008-05-07 Thread Misi Mladoniczky
Hi,

I for one would like to see the output of such a report.

I have one published and one unpublished tool that performs similar things:

1. RRR|DefFieldDiff
Focus on required/optional fields only, to plan upgrades from a data
standpoint.
Screenshot: http://rrr.se/tmp/rrrDefFieldDiff.png
Download: https://www.rrr.se/cgi/tools/main#rrrDefFieldDiff

2. RRR|Diff
Screenshot: http://rrr.se/c/online/s/rrrdiff.html
Download: Let me know of your interest. It needs some additional
development to become even more useful.

Best Regards - Misi, RRR AB, http://rrr.se

Products from RRR Scandinavia:
* RRR|License - Not enough Remedy licenses? Save money by optimizing.
* RRR|Log - Performance issues or elusive bugs? Analyze your Remedy logs.
* RRR|Translator - Manage and automate your language translations.

2008-05-07 Thread Rick Cook
Kais, with you being a new poster, I don't think anyone here is familiar
with you, your company, or what your difference report would look like.
Perhaps if you were to fill in some gaps in our knowledge of those, we might
be exposed to a useful tool and a good new source of information.

Thanks!

I was not offering a line-by-line def compare
The report will tell you what is different between the def files
(objects changed, objects added, objects removed) and explain what is
different in each object.
If you just send me 2 sample def files, I'll generate a report for you,
you can always throw it away if it does not help.

Cheers.

Hi James,

It's not free, but I think it's worth much more than nothing, so you might want
to look at Panacea Workflow Studio for difference reporting and FAR more.

I have no financial ties to the company, am just a satisfied user.
