Re: Modifying HPD:HelpDesk Dev Studio
Also, if you open your form in the MT in a search mode, you should be able to see that field if it's a data field (not display only) if you enable the Advanced Search bar, in the field list. That is a more accurate test of whether or not the field is visible to the MT client. If its visible in that list and not visible on the form where you placed it, it's a display problem which you might want to correct whichever way you choose. My favorite way is to take it out of view, save the form, refresh MT cache, then put it back in view, save form, and refresh MT cache again. Works everytime when I have a similar display related issue, be it visibility or if it is visible with some weird display properties. Re: Modifying HPD:HelpDesk Dev Studio
Could it be that the panel is expanding over the field? Can you move the field to someplace like the Date/System tab? Best guess. If it shows up there then it is the panel hiding it. If it still does not appear then it is a permission issue. As Lisa mentioned, I would first look at it through the user tool. Most of the time this happened to us is a panel issue, field overlap, or permission issues.. Re: Modifying HPD:HelpDesk Dev Studio
Now I'm toast. I moved this field on HPD:Help Desk and the somehow the process bar is down on the buttom of the screen. This Help Desk form was created as an overlay. I am wondering if I can just delete the overlay form in Best Practice and roll back some how. I am looking thru the Dev studio HTML pages and I do not see info on how deleting overlays works. I have a def file of the best practice HPD:HelpDesk object, however I am concerned that if I import it - somehow the base development form is going to get messed up. Where is my old Admin tool when I need it. Re: Modifying HPD:HelpDesk Dev Studio
Kathy, The way you delete the overlay, is in Best Practice Mode, just 'delete' the field, if it's a base field without an overlay, this option is disabled, if it's a custom field, it'll actually delete the field, but if it's a base field with an overlay, it'll simply delete the overlay on the field. this, and possibly removing from view overlay will bring the field back to it's OOTB state. ** Yes, I had deleted the field, cleared the cache, closed the browsers, restarted AR Server and I still see the field on the Help Desk Form in Best Practice. If I import the previous HPD:HelpDesk best practice .def file, will this resolve the issue or cause more problems?
