Re: RKM Authentication
I don't know much more than what Doug has mentioned on the list. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * RKM has been rewritten as a 100% AR System based application. It is now just another application just like Incident or Change or It has a significant number of additional features and capabilities as well. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I think it is already being used for their on demand offering. I noticed an interesting screen shot when watching their on demand overview video: http://www.bmc.com/products/product-videos/itsm-ondemand-overview.html(second to the last slide). I think a few of the new features/changes coming in ARS 7.6.03 were made to support the new RKM. With all the added features and UI enhancements I won't be surprised if we see more apps being built in ARS. John, Well the way I heard, I have seen it yet, was that it is being built in remedy workflow for ease of change the look and feel of RKM amongst other things. You may want to upgrade your RKM 7.2 to 7.5. That is exactly one of the new features of RKM 7.5. Hmm. If you set your KMS_config.xml to Remedy authentication then I would be looking at doc ID: 20007163. That was what my issue was. (advert) Sadly, the 'integration' is not a perfect system of moving users between webapps - i.e. it's not true SSO to RKM. Re: RKM Authentication
Or even better the next version of RKM is a Remedy app. Ok so you have to wait a little while until it is released. There's no official SSO interface for RKM where you can give users a URL and they'll log in to RKM without being presented for credentials. The workflow solution isn't going to go down well with your local security team, and this prompted us to write one - see 2m35s into this movie: http://www.javasystemsolutions.com/jss/ssoplugin JB ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug10 www.wwrug.com ARSlist: Where the Answers Are
Re: RKM Authentication
Hi Carin Yes running ARS 6.3 w/RKM 7.2 patch 3. I had to set authentication to Remedy in the KMS_config.xml, and which worked till I updated RKM 7.2 to Patch 3. Then I had to add a character field 'Groups' in the KMS:Session form (The Custom HD integration def file supplied was missing this which was fine till I upgraded to RKM 7.2 patch 3)and modifying the workflow in ACTL KMS:InitKMS to pass those values to RKM. Lyle sounds on track. However we are not running OOB, so for us configuration was needed. Support might be your best bet. Re: RKM Authentication
Carin The integration does not take the current user name.. There is a user (I think called SelfHelp) that is created that is automatically used by RKM that is used in the data visualization field to display the contents of the knowledge base.. Has that user been created in RKM?? Re: RKM Authentication
The OOB integration of Remedy with RKM sets it up so that you don't need to do this. What exactly are you trying to do? What it boils down to is that a session ID must be generated and stored for the given user in the KMS:Session form. This session ID then gets included in the query portion of the URL used to access RKM. When RKM sees this, it validates the session ID and IP address the user is coming from with the one stored in Remedy. If there is not already an IP address, it adds it to the groups field on the form. If the session ID is found in the form, and the IP address matches (if there was already one there), then it uses the login stored with that session ID as the login credential for that session.
