** Hi David, The products and the documentation for AR System and Atrium Core 7.6.3 are available this morning on the support site and EPD, however the compatibility matrix for these solutions are not yet available. Could you post here or on bmcdn these compatibility matrixes? Regards, Vincent. De: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arsl...@arslist.org] De la part de Easter, David Envoyé: jeudi 26 août 2010 21:14 À: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Objet: AR System 7.6.03 documentation now available - GA soon ** Hi All, Im pleased to announce that AR System 7.6.03 was Released to Manufacturing (RTM) on August 20, 2010 and thus will GA very soon. A customers chosen method of distribution (web vs. DVD, legacy vs. Suite) will have an effect on when the GA product is available, so different customers may gain access to it at different times. However, I expect at this time that all distribution methods will be fulfilled by September 10th 2010. The documentation for 7.6.03, though, has already been posted to Support Central, so I wanted to let folks know that they can see the official documentation of what is new in 7.6.03 today, even before the GA code may become available. Actually, they are not (for my support IDs, anyway). The newest thing I can see out there in the new EPD site (which I looked at for the first time today) is BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite 7.6.02 from May 2010, so I guess they don't have it all loaded yet. Correct. For IT Service Management Suite customers, all of the components of the Suite need reach GA before the Suite as a whole becomes Generally Available. So there's no way for a Suite customer to get a look at ARS when it is released because of the packaging; nice (NOT). Re: AR System 7.6.03 documentation now available - GA soon
This was the first release with the ITSM Pre-configured Suite Stack Installer - which is only available with the IT Service Management Suite - and that influenced the release of the Suite as a whole. In the future, BMC is looking at ways to bring the two dates (component GA and Suite GA) closer together or even make them simultaneous. I apologize for the short delay to some customers getting the Suite and the components therein. -David J. Easter Sr. Product Manager, Enterprise Service Management BMC Software, Inc. Re: AR System 7.6.03 documentation now available - GA soon
It is awesome! During the beta I used the one for Window. In less than an hour I had a full functioning ITSM/RKM/and whatever else was included in the stack installer. Like any new product/feature I imagine people are going to run into some issues but BMC hit a home run with this one. In general ARS 7.6.03 is awesome. One note... Now that ARS doesn't have the 2gb process memory limit (Windows anyway) it is a hungry little monster. Unless there is some way of limiting the process memory; the days where you could run a single little VM on your laptop are gone. At first we had an issue where Remedy was taking all of the memory and smothering SQL. SQL would grind to a halt and wouldn't have enough resources to allow the Remedy start up to finish. We were able to up the VM memory to 8gb and Remedy could then start. Re: AR System 7.6.03 documentation now available - GA soon
Sorry Bruce, I overlooked this message earlier. Yes, it was the ARS app, MS SQL db and Tomcat with Mid-Tier (to be fair Tomcat also took up a bit of memory but was configurable). Since it was a beta I was trying to be respectful of our server team's resources (it seems like we are always asking for servers). The single VM was working great for the first part of the beta; before we had the stack installer.
