As a woman, I have enough project management experience running a household, managing a budget, designing landscaping, organizing non-profit ventures, and performing building construction and maintenance I could conceivably count that as valuable experience toward the company's bottom line. I'll let you know how that goes when my next salary review comes up. It's the same problem across all industries. I have over 10 years experience with Remedy, does that make me more qualified than someone with 5? Or 3?...it depends on what sort of work I have done in my 10 years, and they in theirs as well as what sort of work they are requiring to be done at the position. This is the same type of problem that EVERY industry experiences...just kuz you've worked on cars for 35 years doesn't mean you are qualified to work on a hybrid...I dunno. _ From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arsl...@arslist.org] On Behalf Of Pierson, Shawn Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2009 7:53 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Remedy Developer, Colorado Springs ** The problem is that when applying to these jobs, you are screened by an HR person that doesn't know the technology, but reads it and expects you to have three years or more of ARS 7 experience, not general Remedy experience. In those cases, the HR person will sometimes not believe you are telling the truth, and so the position goes unfilled for months while the hiring manager gets frustrated that no Remedy people seem to be out there, or that they aren't offering enough money. On the flip side, I've worked places where when I wanted to hire someone, I was given resumes of administrative assistants who only have MS Office experience and nothing to do with Remedy, or I'm given lots of resumes of people who have worked in call centers that used Remedy. I personally prefer this over the first scenario, but it does get a little annoying to sort through the resumes to find the few good ones. Lets see. It was released in 8/2006 and the beta started around March 2006, so I would say non. Unless they were a former BMC employee. Re: Remedy Developer, Colorado Springs
The problem is that when applying to these jobs, you are screened by an HR person that doesn't know the technology, but reads it and expects you to have three years or more of ARS 7 experience, not general Remedy experience.
