As a woman, I have enough project management experience running a household,
managing a budget, designing landscaping, organizing non-profit ventures, and
performing building construction and maintenance I could conceivably count that
as valuable experience toward the company's bottom line. I'll let you know how
that goes when my next salary review comes up.

At least they're not asking for 3 years of 7.5 experience yet. Although
we're probably not more than a couple months away from seeing that

It's the same problem across all industries. I have over 10 years
experience with Remedy, does that make me more qualified than someone with
5? Or 3?...it depends on what sort of work I have done in my 10 years, and
they in theirs as well as what sort of work they are requiring to be done at

have three years or more of ARS 7 experience, not general Remedy experience.
In those cases, the HR person will sometimes not believe you are telling the
truth, and so the position goes unfilled for months while the hiring manager
gets frustrated that no Remedy people seem to be out there, or that they
aren't offering enough money.

On the flip side, I've worked places where when I wanted to hire someone, I
was given resumes of administrative assistants who only have MS Office
experience and nothing to do with Remedy, or I'm given lots of resumes of
people who have worked in call centers that used Remedy. I personally
prefer this over the first scenario, but it does get a little annoying to
sort through the resumes to find the few good ones.
