Re: iPad App

2013-03-07 Thread Justin Boeckler
Hello Andy,

We offer a mobile platform for extending BMC Remedy AR System and have been
mobilizing Remedy for 12+ years. This includes both Out of the box Remedy app
templates as well as the ability to rapidly extend custom Remedy apps. The
mobility space is a very rapidly changing environment and keeping pace can be
very challenging with so many mobile platforms and devices. We support iOS,
BlackBerry, Android, Windows and Windows Mobile and it is our job to stay on
top of all the advancements to provide seamless solutions.

You can actually test out a few examples of our Remedy apps below:

Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobilereach.splitwarefeature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5tb2JpbGVyZWFjaC5zcGxpdHdhcmUiXQ

IOS:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mobile-reach-splitware/id465769933?mt=8

Also I should mention that another division within your company already uses
Mobile Reach so you may be able to use their footprint.

Let us know if you have any questions,

Justin Boeckler

This is not a recommendation at all. I have not used these. I have merely
seen them.

There are apps in the iTunes Store that claim to allow you access to your
Remedy system.

Are you looking to use Remedy from iOS..?

We have Mobility for that. You can download app from iOS and use that if you
have mobility configured for you Remedy.

Most of the new versions use flash and therefore will be an issue on Apple
devices.

Other than that you could try using Safari and pointing it to the Mid Tier

There isn't a Remedy User client for iOS, but as mentioned there are iOS apps
that enable you to interact with AR System powered applications. A good place
to start is the main mobility web page on www.bmc.comhttp://www.bmc.com where
you can learn more.

Re: iPad App

2013-03-05 Thread Dee
Andy,

We tried acquiring BMC Mobile app early last year/end of 2011; but at the time
was not mature to handle a customized environment not the itsm suite. We don't
even use approval engine; as I think our change systems was prior to that. That
being said about our state, what we did, was using webservices, php and ios
webkit.jquery we built an mobile interface to that does limited processes like,
place an incident in progress/closed a request, a dash board of tickets based
on sla's, and dashboard for change. We are looking a adding phase 2, re-assign
requests and create request for Service managements. For change we will leave
to dashboard, because of nerc, serc, ferc, sox, and other compliances. No
attachments are viewed via this method, also. We use bigfix mdm to manage boyd
and corporate devices and vpn that access our mobile interface.

So based on you environment, BMC mobility may work.

Good luck.

Dee

Re: iPad App

2013-03-05 Thread Ortega, Jesus A
Since we have Citrix in-house, I open up Citrix receiver in meetings and open
it up IE in Citrix and go to the mid-tier. It really makes my users jealous to
see me working on Remedy with my iPad. I actually did that at a RUG once and
Doug Mueller was there. When he saw it he was dazzled that I had a Mid-tier up
and running on my iPad connected to my office. Then I told him it was Citrix
and he kind of scoffed. But he did think it was cool that I was running Remedy
on the iPad, nonetheless.
