Morning, The intent was to build a new EMS facility in front of the Water Treatment Plant. Between The current building facade and Kingsley Street. I suspect you are thinking of the old real firehouse on Park Ave that is currently a BOE computer center. That is not the location discussed in the redevelopment plan. Most welcome, Now if the Treatment Plant could only do the same LOL Asbury partners was supposed to fund the installation of odor controls, About $1M worth. I suspect our EMS personel would not appeciate the current air Werner --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Once again, you have cleared the air,Werner...Thanks...again.Tom... [AsburyPark] Another part of our Heritage destroyed.
There is a very attractive 20's era brick building on Main Street just north of Franks Deli. Storefronts faceing Main and a nice residential entrance faceing 6th. I've been watching it's rehabilitation with great expectations, new windows, repointed brickwork, restored storefronts in the future. Yesterday it was being painted white. Yes, this beautiful brick building that has survived for decades and conveyed a sense of history and heritage about our city is being painted white. Another piece of the City's architectural heritage whitewashed over. How ironic that the new ownership was highlighted in the Tri-City News several months ago and hailed for doing the right thing to restore this site. I can only think of one explaination - ignorance. My partners and I almost bought hat building. That, to me, was one of the last fair purchases in AP. That building does have it's own appeal as it was. Just needed the storefronts redone, plus whatever intereior rehab. Overall, a great building. Yahoo! Much like the Police Department has a Detective Bureau, a Traffic Bureau, a Patrol Division, etc. All Fire Department Personnel are cross trained as both Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians. Cross training personnel makes for a very efficient operation. Asbury Park Firefighter//EMT's respond to more emergency incidents per capita than any other Firefighters in the state. Got me there, but then again, a surprising number of people do have those extras at home. With the school budget at 89m, you'd think you'd be able to give every kid a computer for $500 or less per.
