[AsburyPark] Some Eye-Opening Numbers
The Press website has lots of public record info available. The most recent being property sales. Go there and search Asbury Park for 2006. Sort by price and note the parties and properties. Then sort by seller and look at what the City sold. The disparity in the numbers is shocking. Werner Recent property sales now on public-records site Posted by the Asbury Park Press on 04/19/07 STAFF REPORT Post Comment The Asbury Park Press' DataUniverse, our Web site for public records and information, has been updated to reflect recent property sales throughout New Jersey. The Property Sales site, which can be found at www.app.com/DataUniverse, also has been redesigned to make searching faster and easier. Users can search using a specific address, a street name, town, sales range or the names of the buyers and sellers. The sales data come from the state Treasury Department and include transactions from 1996 through January 2007. However, because of time lapses between a final sale and reporting of the information to the state, some recent transactions may not yet be posted. DataUniverse will be updated approximately every month in order to provide the most recent information possible. Yahoo! The disparity in the numbers is shocking. And you should all have your TAXES REDUCED like the partners did from2006 to 2007: exmaple: 1200 Ocean Ave. .75 acres. Asses value from $1,233,300 DOWN to 532,000. I didn't realize values along the water DROPPED that much. Elsewhere in Monmouth County, every little piece of land along the water - the values doubled for tax purposes. So when a 900 sq ft condo can go for $400k with ABATED taxes Yahoo! You have to tell me your secret. I never said it works. My blood pressure is 150/90. they laugh at me when I yell at them On the way out the door, my wife asked me to take out the pizza box. That's the same box I asked them 10 times last night to take out. I didn;t even eat any. I told her I am not, it's not mine. Boy did I get a look. Then she called me to tell me how many towels my daughter left out etc etc etc. Guess what - I DO pay them. ATV repairs, pay for daughter to take out boyfriend, buy makeup, taco bell, clothes, pizza cause they're to lazy to open a refrigatorand ina couple month a car, insurance, gas. Ah - to be single. I can see now why my dad took off to africa for a consulting gig. Took him aorund 3 years to get home...when we were all about out of the house. That is, except for the Thrusday night dinners. And he still membles to himself while HE cleans up, takes out the garbage, puts ways the chairs. I sit on my rear, yell at my kids to help out grandpa. Hey - It's Thrusday. I have to call my mom to see waht she's cooking tonight. I get a whole story. Maybe for fun and to tortue myself, I'll ask her something about subbing at AP. To work today. Ps my secret - work hard and enjoy all the touble the kids are worth - before you know it, they're gone and hoepfully become someone else's enjoyment/pain. I can't wait to spoil my grandkids Yahoo! Asses value from $1,233,300 DOWN to 532,000. You may be aware that I had requested from the City the decrease in assessed values in the WRA by virtue of demolitions. I had heard that it was a decrease of $2M. I kept pressing the City for the info, and after 3 months, Reidy called me to discuss. He said that I would have to do the analysis myself and that they would make the materials available to me. He said what I asked is too time consumng for the assessor. I didn't want them to negate the decrease by market increases. I don;t think what I asked is so complex, and quite frankly, if I wanted to do it myself, I think I could simply use what's available on line. I don't think it would be that difficult for the assessor and it is something the city should already have a handle on. In fact, more importantly, Reidy said the analysis is complicated because the actual decrease is over $7M! He said that the assessments on waterfront properties that were tax-exempt under city ownership were unrealistic and too high. They were not changed when they were sold to Partners and subsequently they had to be lowered. That's the City's story. I assume he is referring to CH, Casino, et al. But come on, what about waterfront land as Oak points out? The land is under assessed, not over assessed. I had also pointed out to Reidy the taxes on various commercial properties that Oak also posted a few weeks ago. Reidy appeared to be shocked by the low taxes (relatively) on these properties an was going to look into it. We'll see. Yahoo!
