Something interesting on those plans in the brochure... check out the Fifth Avenue Pavilion. Look at the second floor plan that is showing Tim McLoone's Supper Club... its not actually the 2nd floor they are showing, its the basement. The reason behind this is absolutely because they do not want to show the 2nd floor of the pavilion because, well, it contains the bandshell. This means one of two things. 1) The bandshell has not been designed. 2) The area is being designed as something else that they do not want us to see right now. Its just something to think about, and I know there are some here who will think that is interesting. Yahoo! Easy to say... but why would they go through trouble to disguise a basement plan and cover it up as the second floor? Its would have been alot easier to just use the real second floor plan, even if the bandshell isnt designed yet... there is definately a second floor plan drawn up, and it would either say in the bandshell area: Designed by Others, or To Remain As Is... something along those lines. Unless they have something to hide, there really should be no reason why they would have to disguise a plan like that. Yahoo! That is indeed the 2nd floor being shown. That is the only usable space currently, the center of the Pavilion is just a roof (the seating area) and the south end of 2nd floor (the stage and band rooms) is not currently shown since its not for lease yet Where do you get the idea its the basement ??? Werner It does appear that its the second floor... but zoom in to 400%. Then take a look and read below the circular area. It clearly reads basement plan. And if you look carefully, it is because the second floor of the hojo's is not drawn in... its just a circular outline. The architects did a patchwork job of making this appear as the real 2nd floor plan, when in actuality, its not. Yahoo! Head on over to North Beach and look at the concept plans that THEY have on display form SPG architects (think). These earlier plans show a very cool bandshell (i;m looking for the pdf) - nice brick that appears to match CH (least in color) and other buildings all probably you might them to look. Probably, then again, probably not maybe tomorrow I'll post some of the concept plans I saved when they were published. I think maybe Maureen may have some as well. Interesting to look like. Even the fancy ones of the Esperanza. And - no concept plans ever appeared alike - the ESP, Palace Hotel/entertaiment area, Wesley Grove vs actual. Depended who the engineers and architects were used and by what subdeveloper etc There's probably hundreds of concept plan of the BW and Cookman Ave. I;ve been trying to hunt down some older ones. Think about it - from Michael Jackson and Jacque Cousteau, Jai-Lai, Minor league baseball, Hotels, apartments towers, Hov, no bandshell, various doodles of the interior of CH, Bathhouse designsetc etc. I have a plan (angle) if I was to get all these on one place - a real great art show. Because it really is art. AP is probably one of the most conceptualized places in the world - next to Disney World. Yes the 400,000 included the Paramont Theater (not a retail space), Convention Hall (not a retail space), Heating Plant (minimal retail space), Casino Arena (they claim no intention of turning it into a Mall)... Padding the numbers from the begining. As I recall all the existing uses, retail/commercial/ENTERTAINMENT, were lumped together and came in at around 300,000 sqft. The newly created retail was to be around 100,000 sqft. Look at what's happening along the NEW Cookman Ave from Grand to Ocean. One small corner store. Werner Yahoo!
