RE: [Asterisk-Users] Seattle IAX Termination
Packetwest Communcations provides local IAX termination service in Seattle. I use it locally for a small Asterisk setup and they provide me with DID's in the 206 NPA. They also provide outbound long-distance at rates similar to NuFone. I've had a really good experience with service quality and reliability so far. Contact them at (206) 838-4810. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Muiz Motani Sent: Friday, April 02, 2004 2:47 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Seattle IAX Termination Does anybody know of any commercial providers of IAX termination with DIDs in the Seattle, WA area? RE: [Asterisk-Users] Seattle IAX Termination
Their base rate is $35/mo per peer (single call transit at any given moment) and this provides unlimited local and inbound calling. If you are connecting a PBX and need 1 voice path at any given moment you can discuss different pricing arrangements for your needs. DID numbers are 15 cents/number/month. Long distance is something around 3 or 4 cents/min, I don't recall exactly. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Scott Laird Sent: Monday, April 05, 2004 12:29 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] Seattle IAX Termination On Apr 5, 2004, at 12:18 PM, Mark Hagler wrote: Packetwest Communcations provides local IAX termination service in Seattle. So they're on the Vonage-style all-you-can-eat model instead of the VoicePulse Connect/NuFone pay-as-you go model. Right now, I'm better off paying $0.029/minute for an 800-number through NuFone then $35/month for a free local number that doesn't get all that much use. It's nice to know that they're available, though. I'll try to throw some business their way if anything presents itself. I haven't seen anyone who does IAX in Seattle or Asterisk-friendly SIP (although I'd love to hear about it). For backup home use, I'm using NuFone's 800-number service. It's only $0.029/minute, and for the level of use I'm seeing, it's cheaper then paying the $8/month that VoicePulse wants for a DID number (not that they do Seattle yet, anyway). Re: [Asterisk-Users] Seattle IAX Termination
Nufone has an 800-number service? How did you find out about that. I have looked at NuFone's website numerous times and I couldn't find any details about the services they provide. Sure, they list general information about their service, but no details such as which LATAs they provide DIDs in, the fact that they provide IAX terminations, etc. It must be one of the most difficult and least informative VoIP provider sites around. Where can I find more information about their services? On 2 Apr 2004 at 15:16, you wrote: I haven't seen anyone who does IAX in Seattle or Asterisk-friendly SIP (although I'd love to hear about it). RE: [Asterisk-Users] Seattle IAX Termination
Their service is still considered to be in test or beta, but it works fine. E-mail sales at nufone dot net and they will answer any questions you have and set up an account if you like. They are currently on a pre-paid basis, just PayPal them over what ever amount you want to start with, and start calling. Yeah, they do a lousy job of marketing and sales right now. You have to send them email to get any information out of them, but the price is right and they work well. All things considered, I'd rather deal with a company with good technical abilities and lousy marketing then the opposite.
