When I initially signed up with sixtel, I had decent (not great)
call-quality, and a quick response to service requests. Within a month
or two, everything went south. Call quality went down the drain, and
service requests were not answered. Their billing system was riddled
with overcharges -- one of their favorite things to do was to charge
for DIDs requested without ever provisioning them... and keep charging
months after they received cancellation for the request.

My advice -- don't give them more money than you're willing to lose,
and test them out thoroughly -- and don't put DIDs provided by them on
any printed materials unless you're convinced their gonna stick
around. Maybe they finally got their stuff together.

I used them for a while earlier this year. When the service worked it
was pretty good. When they did have problems their support staff we
next to impossible to reach. Once I called their 800 support line only
to find that it was also down. My DID was down due to the fact that
their entire network was down...including their own lines.

Eventually I switched to other providers. Nufone is very good.
Clearpath is excellent. Both are a little difficult to reach, but have
very reliable networks. I'm also using vocee these days but have not
put too much traffic that way as yet.

I have no problems. Just prepaid outbound, cant comment on any other
services. They are in the process of getting the final steps to being a
clec completed now (state certification I believe was done months ago,
interconnection should be done about now). They may be able to offer
better services and rates as a result, I am not sure.

I have accounts with roughly 5 providers, with sixtel being one of the
primary ones. I have been using them since 2/2/2005. While there have
been occasional glitches, some severe, for the most part their service
works extremely well.

For a long time, the biggest complaint was receiving DID's in a timely
manner, or at all. Relatively recently, they ran a promotion for vanity
DID's, and I signed up for two of them, bother of which were provisioned
within the time that they claimed they would, and both work well.

That said, of all of the providers I use, the most rock-solid in terms
of availability and quality is NuFone. I know many people have
complained on the lists before about their "service", but I have found
their responsiveness to be excellent, so not everyone is getting the
same results. They are the most expensive of the services I subscribe to
(still very cheap!!!), but they are also the most reliable. To be more
specific, all of my _wife's_ calls get routed through NuFone, because
when they weren't, I never heard the end of it ;-)

Log in to your account at http://control.sixtel.net and click on DIDs
You should then see 3 sections:
Numbers assigned to you:
Telephone Numbers (DID)
and
Toll Free numbers

Click on the link under Telephone Numbers to get a DID assigned to you.

I cant comment about the did but if you log into your account (you
should have gotten an email refering you to http://control.sixtel.net)
they have iax config stuff on their webpage. It really is a simple
matter of cutting and pasting.

As for the did try contacting sixtel9 on aim, emailing them or calling
them.

I havent had any problems with their service so far.

I have been using sixtel for outgoing calls since 2/2/2005. Call
quality has been very high (uLaw), and availability of a channel
nearly perfect. Thankfully, I have never had to open a trouble
ticket. A buddy of mine has been waiting for a vanity 800 DID for
3+ months though :-(.

that the only tech-support person had fled the country. No responses,
bad responses, poor call-quality. I had a few $s left in the balance

keep an extra outgoing provider on hand, since voipjet and livevoip have
