I do not own a tablet, because I already have an android phone, but as far as I know, nexus7 should be a very foolproof choice. It is quite cheap, has good specs and as it is a nexus device, it has stock android and it receives updates as they come out.

I've been playing a MUD called clok, and it is pretty good as far as I know.  I'm using VipMud and JAWS, and having no issues.  There is a soundpack for that one also that was player created, and the player updates it as the game is updated from what I can tell.  I too was in search of another MUD to play, so this topic is of great interest to me.  I'm playing on Wayfare just now, but, so far, all I've done is explore, discover, and scavenge.  I'm just not that good yet. *grin*

@Sean Let's say for example you have 0 defense: the price of the defense is low, so you bought 1, 2, 3, 4, etc, and everytime your defense is increasing, its price is increasing. So in conclusion, the lower the value, the lower the price.

What you need to do in Kelly's dream is make your way into the large building in the middle right of the Zopolis map (I believe from the comment of the person outside it's a reactor), then go to the second floor of that building and in the center you'll find an encounter that will finish the demo, beware of dragons sinse they're nasty fighters, and remember to use the stats upgrade shop you'll find close to the bottom left corner and the healing savepoint. hth. Beware! dire and dangerous spoilers await, read for anyone who hasn't been drug busting! I've just made it to heaven (well Ros has made it to heaven I'm not sure they'd let me in), and I can say some of the things we've been talking about in mechanics terms are already there. When  I was last on Ce lots of the stuff you found while derelict exploring like novastone gas was hugely in  demand on the gbm, so I'd highly recommend you get yourself a grav  so you can start grabbing resources. As to health,  medical packs are still the only way, however you can buy some upgrades from the ce store to restores your health, you can also ware armor, sinse if you do it's the armor that gets damaged not your character.With  ship fuel I never personally had an issue sinse I always found that with a bio5 engine  and  premium account I got more than enough.I should come back and give Ce another  go only I got rather destracted by Paladin of the sky.

Well first I'm really pleased Amir is doing another game, dark room was so good and so fantastically designed, I was waiting for more of his work, whether set in the same universe or not. now I'm going to start getting spoilery so if you've not finished A dark room, go away and finish it! sinse otherwise this large slice of spoiler pie will be flying your way ready to spoil things for you with all it's dastardly spoileriness! Spoilers! On the one hand this is sounding very good, I like the idea of the game specifically being hard (dark room isn't a cake walk either, especially on hard mode). It also strikes me that it ties in very nicely with the original plans Michael had for the web version. He said his original idea was after you'd made the village with a steel works, armery etc, you'd then start having your villagers troop across the map as your own personal army, taking outposts. After this, you'd ten repare the wand
 erer ship, and go off into space where you'd find the main wanderer fleet was still engaged in galactic war. You'd join them for a grand stratogy, but eventually when you lost your ship would crash on a planet and you'd wake up in that self same dark room. I still bet this is the ending, sinse the protagonist of A dark room is a wanderer, and we get told quite specifically that it was the wanderers who attacked the earth and drilled for alien metal. this is also why when you finish the game on hard mode the builder tells you you have restored balance. I'm not worried about the game, sinse if we know something Amir is great at design, even down to designing the precise amount of time and rinding things might take. I will miss the exploring and discovery of the dusty path, though i suspect there will still be elements of that in the new game. My most serious worry is that the game reveals too much. If the ending is indeed that you, the intergala
 ctic star bos general of the wanderer fleet finish in a cabin in the woods with a nasty concussion, it might make the mystery of a dark room less. heck, i personally love the fact that the term "wanderer" is so ambiguous, and a lot is left to your imagination, heck it didn't even occur to me that various other people we meet in the game described as "wanderer" were actually the same alien race as the builder, your character and the ones who built the ship until i heard the interviews. . Usually I'm a stickler for plot and description but A dark room is a great example where it's what you don't know that really counts and where less has very much been more, one reason why, while I didn't exactly get the same experience replaying the game, I did really enjoy the atmosphere, and once I knew what the world and situation was, imagining what things would be like.That's my only concern with a prequel, that it might reveal a little to
 o much and thus invalidate A dark room. But we'll see how things go, I certainly do trust Amir's ability to design games and come up with an appropriate story as well as mechanics that fit it.

Beware! demo spoilers. @Kelly, yep the game is great. I was going to mention it on audeasy accept the list seems to be down at present, though I hope people got the news I put on the front page Beware! demo spoilers below! With those dragons, there are no restoration areas in kelly's dream. There are two ways  I found of getting through. When I played at the end of the demo, I just levelled kelly up and ignored wen I died, buying defense points as I had the money (those dragons do  drop some coins). Sinse you don't lose anything for dying but are put back to the nearest savepoint it's not an issue. I have a nasty suspicion on hard mode this wouldn't  however. The other way is the bold sir robbin tactic for anyone who has seen monty  Monti Python, "When danger  reared it's uggly  head he bravely turned his tale and fled!" Everything else in Kelly's dream doesn't have as good
  defenses about dragons,   hmmm, methinks Mr. Freud might  say she had daddy,  or  mummy issues her being a half dragon . Either way, run away from dragons and murder anything else with dragon strikes as usual. Beware! further  spoilage for main game! I actually made it through the electronics fairly well, I was getting stuck in one of those annoying dead end chambers in the middle of one wall without realizing  the way through was at the far  endd, still some navaids would help, eg, telling you what direction nearest door or teleporter is, or  a  previously visited command, or maybe even some coordinates.I got slightly lost on my way  out of the  sancturary,  weerd considdering getting in! there was no trouble, though at least all this wandering around is making sure my party are pretty bri
 ck being probably tougher than expected. Everyone is now at either 27 or 28, accept for  shauna who I'm levelling with at the moment (she's level 23 right now). I enjoyed the bit with the chimera, ((the game didn't call it that but from the description that I believe is what it was), very anime, some of the purposes were surprising though from a plot perspective I thought running into Ros' long lost childhood girlfriend suddenly was rather convenient,  as Gabriel said, enough with the mushy mush mush .The bit  with the commedian made me laugh, even though the poor guy  didn't stand a chance. Btw, what the heck is it with drunks on this ship? I've gone through all the cabins (there were some nice surprises in a couple), and met all the people and the amount who are either drunk, or looking forward to getting drunk! re
 ally this ship ought to be renamed Alanon of the sky! :d. I now once again need to try and persuade myself to stop playing and go to sleep, and once again I'm probably going to fail myserably!

Well if you're diligent in exploring every area you should have no shortage of either money or healing supplies. I've just spent hours backtracking through various parts of the ship in search of hidden items and I ended up with close to 40 potions among other things. I also never knew there were levelup herbs. LOL. Though I imagine those should be used rather sparingly.

Hmmm. here we go again. If hackers do atack the surver, then I wouldn't blaim aprone if he shut it completely down. This of course will mean no swamp. If such hackers hack in to the surver to play the game for free and they succeed, then clearly there is more holes to fix. Matter of fact, I check my account to see if it had been accessed sense the last time I was on and it hasn't. Now if you are saying that a hacker will find it easy to cheet, then you might take in to account that aprone has a no money back thing and such hacker will have to take the whole gamers account system in to account which may or may not be easy. Basicly, it comes down to making the surver think you have an account if you wish to play. Of couse if someone was to bring down the surver...

Hi.I bought the train master app, it wasn't what I expected and honestly can't help me with train times.I'm now thinking about buying UK train times by agant.It's meant to be accessible and seems like my kind of app. It has deparcher times that are up to date.But is there a way I can ask for my money back. Here's a tip. Conserve ammo. q will heal you. If an enemy is at your position and its sound has changed, it has grabd you. Rappidly tap enter to throw it off.

Thank you very much Ethin. I got it now.I'm now in level 2. fighting the first enemies there. I find it so difficult so I'm giving up for now, after having tried to beat them more than 30 times. The enemies seems to drop ammo clips randomly, and there doesn't seem to be anything to do, when you're stuck without any clips left, and you don't get any new clips for killing an enemy with the last 10 shots you have. I will come back to the game later though.

@Superb, I do think some more aides to navigation than just trailing walls should be added to make play a little less frustrating, heck, Inquisitor's heartbeat is basically an entire game of trailing walls! and there you don't have monsters trying to kill you.A quest command to tell you where to head next just in case you miss a bit of dialogue might be handy too.Beware! spoilage below if you haven't finished Bert's palace. Right now I'm on the electronics area and it is a miner pain sinse I ran into another security person who said "you sshouldn't be here" and a teleporter, got kicked back to the beginning and have no idea where I was or how to progress, I've been trying for an hour and a half,  though it is very good for levelling my party. Ros is at 25, Kelly at 24 and everyone else (even gabriel), at 23, I'm also getting lots of practice casting heavens winds which will help later. I&
 #039;ll get it there is no doubt of that, but it would be nice to have a little more idea where I'm going and where I've been than just having to guess, particularly sinse with only the walls there are no landmarks for me to practice my usual navigation methods.

Getting Started With Android

All,Topic subject really says it all.  I'm interested in trying out Android but really have no idea where to start, since there's a vast number of tablets, handsets etc.  I'm not interested in a phone, as I use a Verizon-based iPhone, which leaves tablets as the only option.  So, what tablets have people used?  What would you recommend?Also, since I know next to nothing about Android accessibility, a primer would be nice, if it exists.Any help greatly appreciated.Thanks,Scott

it's an alternate way of triggering gestures. You could bind both the local and global context menu commands to a single and double tap of the side of your device then you wouldn't have to draw right-angles. Only problem is the tap detecting is buggered up and anything from beeps to dogs barking will set it off

I agree with Dark. Sounds would be a cool addition but not really necessary. As for the wall tones at first I found them to be intrusive but I've gotten used to them. I do agree that some descriptions for the people you talk to, even if only basic ones, could be handy. Maybe you could have them say something like "Over here!" when you get close to them.

Hi there. I just have one small problem. I downloaded a bell sound for the lift (elevator)because I thought it was a better sound than the default lift signal sound and it sounds more realistic as if you're standing outside a set waiting for one to come and ring a bell to let you know the door is about to open. When I downloaded it It was in Mp3 format so I changed the file extention to *.z in order for the game to use it. The problem is this. I can't get it to sound as if it is coming from where the lift is located depending on the level you have completed and I also can't get it to stop playing when the door is open. @Joshms123,You just can't see how much health he has remaining. Just choose a character with a powerful spell you can cast well and throw all you've got at it. Eventually you'll get a cutscene.@roro,It's a split path. You want to go left from the stairs you took to reach floor 3. Follow that path around until you come to a door. That's the room where you'll get the new party member. Then go back to the stairs and go up, and follow that path until you reach the other door.

When you walk in, the general direction you should go is east. You'll have to change direction a few times as you go, but trying to head east should get you to where she is. If you can find the save point you're near her since she's really close to that.

@Ksapergia,while in the secret place, basically never go left. Keep going right wherever possible. You'll be weaving up and down a little in the process but eventually you'll come to a save point.@Livrobo,When you start 12th floor, head left from the save point and down at the first available branch. Then just keep headed in that general direction the hole way.There are a few twists and turns but as long as your going mostly down you'll get there.

When you walk in, the general direction you should try to go is east. You'll have to make some changes as you go, but trying to head east should get you to where she is. If you can find the save point you're near her since she's really close to that.

If you remember,SPOILER follows:After heaven, director says that he was planning to take ross to the cafe, but ross appeared to be too tired. Ross agrees with him that he does need to get some rest.End spoilerIf you don't remember which cabin is yours, head all the way to the bottom floor (the one called entrance and exit). Talk to the person near the stairs and they'll tell you which cabin you're in. Then go inside your cabin to progress the game.

I do agree sounds and ambience would be a very nice addition to the game, but "addition" is the operative word. With the music being as awsome as it is there is enough on atmosphere to engage the player's attention with the setting as it is, I do however wish the text was improved with some descriptions as I said, sinse that costs nothing to do but would add much to the setting. I also don't personally feel the wall tone sounds made the game feel 8 bit, not with that very nice music, they are navaides pure and simple and for me a single tone is about as unobstructive as you could get,  imagine if they were replaced with say different stone grinding noises or wind noises? just think how that would change the game. On the nav sounds issue my one complaint is that the people nav sound doesn't really give the idea that this is a person, though that would be fixed by being able to see a brief description as I said, ie, you find the person with 
 the nav beeps, then get to kno who they are via description. Perhaps some minimal voicing could help too, for instance the person says "Hay" or "Hi" or "yes" or something like that. when you talk to them, even if their actual speech was text. I doubt full voice acting could be added for the game even if people were willing to do it for free,  sinse there is so much the basic recording would be a huge task.  Bbut perhaps a couple of voices would help with  giving some more characterization, at least letting you know what sort of person your talking to, old man, old woman, officious guard, sleezy criminal etc,  (I'd certainly be willing to reccord some samples myself).Then again as I said I'm not unhappy with the current state of play and was quite happy to pay the 30 usd for what is there thus far, as well as to support future development, and if more gets added well good, though if not I wouldn't raise a s
 tink about it.Regarding combat, I don't know if Aaron will get to add to this game's mechanics or not, sinse tweaking existing mechanics in coding is not a simple task like adding sounds or extra bits of text. While I wouldn't be against expanding the timed combat hits system, one problem with that idea is essentially all your giving the player is at rock bottom a boppit exercise. the function in the game that the magic system serves so far is keeping the player on their toes and meaning even though you are! effectively using the same attack over and over again, you still need to concentrate. While the boppit exercise could indeed be made more complex, I'd personally prefer the actual basic combat system got some work so that the player is required to choose between different options in different fights according to the enemy being fought, and pay attention to what is happening. for example "oh it's an ice dragon, well I'll switch to 
 my character with the fire spellls" or "this monster is really fast and hard to hit, well I'll need to have my mage throw a haste spell at my warrior" This is just what the ff games specialized in, using multiple character strengths together to overcome different styles of enemies with different techniques rather than just hammering that one attack over and over again. Look at Entombed with throwing multiple characters at you and having you make the best of them.As I said I don't know if it's possible to add this sort of thing to Pods as it stands, and even if not there is more than enough in the game to keep everyone busy, but it might be something to think about for the next title.

Hi there. I just have one samall problem I downloaded a bell sound for the lift (elevator) because I thought it was a better sound than the default lift signal sound. When I downloaded it It was in Mp3 format so I changed the file extention to *.z in order for the game to use. The problem is this. I can't get to sound as if it is coming from where the lift is located depending on the level you have completed and I also can't get it to stop playing when the door is open. I would really appreciate it if anyone can help me on this one. Thanks very much.

@Stewie,What is your level?You should be around level 50 at that point.You might want to try changing the key for dragon scrolls as sometimes keyboard design can play a roll in some keys being slower to respond than others.As well what are ross's other stats (hp and impact)? If you can afford an hp upgrade then you probably should go for it as it'll buy you a few extra turns.The only other thing I can suggest is to experiment a bit with fingering. Keep your finger right on the key with a little bit of wait on it so you can push it down as quickly as possible after the sound.It's pretty tough and took me a number of tries my first go round but it's definitely doable with practice.@Roro,if you're still in the sanctuary, from the stairs you took to reach the 3rd floor go left and follow that path. You'll come to a room where you'll get a scene and a new team member. Then return to the stairs and this t
 ime go up to return to the organ room for the boss.

Yeah, I read this one when it came out, but reread it again anyway. Great stuff. And "Unlimited" is a lie. Everybody knows that. The word "Unlimited" should instantly and automatically activate your bullshit detector, if it is installed and functioning correctly. In the UK at least, I'd love to see a proper, automatic, shilling-in-the-metre, pay-first-use-second-type broadband service, with reasonable pay-as-you-go unit pricing. In Turkey, the model I'm talking about is the one employed by Turkcell, which is awesome. For mobile, I now use giffgaff (my affiliate link, gives both of us some credit) and for broadband I switched to A&A. These come c

At the d man, those are some good points you made. I was hesitant to buy the game at first because i kind of felt the same about the game being a pretty good test run. 30 dollars seemed like a bit much until i realized that my money could go toward getting better sounds in to the game. From the reaction in this topic so far, i hope that Aaron has enough cash to make some magic happen soon. But i still enjoy the game for what it is anyway, and figure that 30 dollars is a fair price, considering the amount of content.

@The_DMan:Completey agree with You. As an RPG it's pretty solid title, sadly, there's no sound work and magic system is one thing which is mostly painfull for me. I suggested to help with audio without asking about cash etc, but it's kinda ignoring it. The current system with audio can work like: clicking enter on the scroll will launch a sound where every beep with timed key press  launch a sound of specific action, like sound of charging spell, at the end, where actor says the name of it a spell will start hitting with a combo. If  more timed key presses, more hits at the final result. Imagine the final effect. We need basic voiceacting like pain voices or attack voices, it will add a lot to the curent game.I provided my work in Entombed and while it isn't the best, it's really good. Sadly, Jason didn't wanted to continue a project and thanked me for a cooperation while making Entombed. Sadly, because I wanted to expant the gam
 e with more ambiances, started recording voice acting to one class etc.As Dark mentioned, next thing is, better scroll will work on most things, we need something like specific enemies can resists spels, attacks, dodge, block etc. But I can understand Aaron started making audio games and this is Okay for me because it's really new idea and thing. Sounds can be easily added to the code basically so only one is to have the audio to add. When i'll back from my vacation, I can make it for sure from my purchased libraries, or custom made sounds, recorded or mixed / effected from other pieces.Cheers
