Problems with MushZ

Hello folks. Im currently having a weird problem while using MushZ. It happened once in the past with my old leptop, so Im not sure if it is related with my machine or the client itself.When I run the program, the game sounds tend to generate an infinit loop. This do not cause the client to close though, forcing me to quit and retry, with no success either. Any ideas?Best regards, Haramir.

Ive just reinstall windows yesterday, and I just redownload the game, when i login, my characters move to default location, and maybe I lost all things, I didnt find my ship in game directory, pls check it, my ship name blindcrusewr, I didnt remember the type type but i thing its about 100 credit when I bought it but my other ship was there blindship, and my credit back to 5000, last time my credit was 300 sometihng

For me, I cant imagine having to do maths without braille. I tried it once, and the amount of time it took me to process the information was ridiculous.I know what you mean about the disabled students allowance Dark. I was told before university that no, you will have a laptop. you wont need a braille note... a year on and with research, I realised that having a braille sense or whatever its called would make my life about 10 times easier. Ive put my case forward multiple times, with the backing of my senco, and they wont budge. Ive definitely realised after going from a school where getting braille was incredibly easy due to them having a specialised unit for VI students, through college and now university, where it is far, far scarcer, that braille provides me with access to information in a way that listening to a screenreader never can.

Hi.I have the latest version of a t c, and the jumping still doesnt work.I wonder if the game can be coaded so that it searches for updates and downloads them to your computer? This would be a lot better than sending out one email at a time.I go to the edge of a single jump gap, press space, nothing happens, Aeric just jumps up, space and right aeric just dies.

Actually, the URLs are a lot more friendly now. They dont contain nasty question marks and .php extensions. I only read the post that you did add them after I had already moved them... Ask Peter, my reaction was something to the effect of Noo!. So Im sorry about that. However, urls are a lot shorter now, and the ones that we used before used to give partial or incomplete downloads for some reason. This doesnt happen anymore, so things definitely changed for the better!

Loll Gorthalen, I was joking, it just struck me as a particular irony given I spent some time yesterday updating a bunch of db pages with the links, I dont doubt what you say about network timeouts etc is true (indeed that was probably the reason when listening I found that the streaming broke of in the middle and I needed to download the files instead, though with my connection speed that really makes little difference).At the moment adding new entries to the db is a bit dicy, but modifying the old ones works okay, though Ill probably not get to fix them again until later this week.

Hey everyone,I emailed Jake about this already, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this happened to them. When I tap my arrow keys to take one step, Airik takes two. So, Im not able to play the game, cause I keep falling off jump gaps. This hasnt always happened though. The first time I downloaded Airik, it was fine, now I was sent another link, and when I downloaded it this time it started happening. Oh, and I still have not received the updated game links that everyone is supposed to be getting.Has anyone else had this problem with walking though? I have no idea what to do, and Im getting very frustrated cause I want to play the game. I cant play with this problem though. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know..Thanks.

Hi Ive noticed some radio buttons have there labels next to them. So for example. when you calibrate your robots attack defense and speed. The radio buttons can easily be read through when pressing R, but with other radio buttons, you have to press your down arrow to read the information. Could it be so that all info is read when pressing R?Im not completely sure on how to do this but here goes;formfieldsetlegend attack/legendp label input type=radio name=attack Attack 1/label/P/formI tried something like that out on a text html page and it read when I press R instead of me having to go down and read the label.IF thats wrong sorry. I know you know lodes more than I do when it comes to this stuff, I just thought Id show off what I learned today

Damn this forum. I had just wrote a very long post, and then I got an error then I pressed submit...  Well, here it comes:Hi all.Ive started to work on the next version of the campaign, which is mostly bug fixing. I have some questions and comments regarding to the nice feedback from you:KeyIsFull: Thanks a ton for your very awesome feedback in post 5 and 7.Im not sure on what ammo Ive wrote incorrectly.When looking at the correct ammo youve posted in post 7, you write items and not item like the campaign guide. Have I missed anything? is it a typo or is there something missing in the campaign documentation?Most of the axe wielding allies has been removed in the next version, I have fixed some lag, but 
 I havent removed some of the rifle allies yet, but might do so if they get too annoying. GD: Thanks so much for your feedback.the error youre getting at the beginning of the campaign seems to be Internet Explore which brakes the file when downloading it. I dont get any errors here. A friend of mine downloaded the campaign this morning and got the same error. Then I uploaded the campaign in a shared folder we have on Dropbox, and then it ran fine on his machine.Ill take a look at the forts. Ive fixed the armor in the next version.All allies have 200 ammo. I should maybe adjust this, but they cant switch to an other weapon when they run out of ammo, and I havent made so they respawn if they get killed.You cant check how many allies are alive. I should look into that, but I think Ill wait a bit to a later 
 version.No, the allies shouldnt follow you but only the zombies. Sometimes it seems like the allies think that the player also is a zombie. Lol. Ill check up on this.I think thats all. Please let me know if Ive missed anything. More comments and suggestions are very much welcome. I have added a list of things which I wanna take a look at in the first post.

ADd items is a command available in the swamp campaign code. It lets you add multiple of the same item with a single command. It is in the documentation. It is right after the add item line.

I actually find that if you stay close to Rudolph and hit him like mad, you will often pre-empt him. You will hit him literally as soon as his charge attack begins, which stuns him. He will nick you from time to time, but his regular sword attacks dont hurt much, and as long as you dont gobble up all the health items you should be okay.Yes, the spirit fencer is hard. In higher difficulties its downright murderous.I always thought, given the different voices, that Sera/Aria, or whoever it was, was talking to some sort of god or deity, trying to sort of prove herself. Maybe that just shows my abysmal Japanese skills (since I was using a translation, and it was muddy at best), but the voice was different and sounded wryly amused at the whole thing. Im not sure.

Hello all! it is with great pleasure that I would like to tell you all that a talking windows pe four 64 bit systems is now available! I this will allow you to install 64 bit version of windows 7, 8, and 8.1. unlike bryan smarts installation, he couldnt installation project, you could only install a 32 bity version of windows 7, 8, and 8.1! I am happy to say this problem has been rectfied, and when windows 10 comes out, you will be able to do a clean installation of that too! Eh, you can do a hackish version of multiplication using events, then use that to approximate leveling thresholds. The gibberish is just file  directory names, their names dont matter. Try to aim for at least 20 account numbers, and hit logout once youve been at high threat for a bit. Files deeper down the directory tree are worth more but more dangerous. It becomes a game of chicken...

I do actually have one question.Once you get into the database when hacking, there are a bunch of weird gibberish-looking links with letters and numbers. I presume some of these are accounts and some of them arent, but are they supposed to be gibberish or what?I clicked two of them, then got nervous I was going to fail and stopped hacking. This game appears to have no security built into it. It is probably more difficult to code anti-cheating workarounds than it is to code the game, so thats why you have the less-than-ideal distribution method.To the person using XP and having Direct X errors, you may need to update Direct X.Speaking of XP, I realize that some of us dont have tons of money or whatnot, but lets remember that Windows XP is no longer being supported, and hasnt been for some time. It is not, by and large, safe anymore, and most programs have at least a hitch or two with regards to compatibility. Whats more, expecting new games and programs to be XP-compatible is a pain in the neck. If at all possible, I suggest those of you using XP try and upgrade to Windows 7 when you get the chance. Its essentially just better XP, plus theres the nifty search box. A few things are different, but not enough to really throw you.

This depends a lot on what made the .dat file in the first place. The long and the short of it is that .dat is one of the extensions you use as the file extension when you dont want to give that info out for free. The long and the short of it is that youll find these anywhere from PS2 to windows system directories, and and theres honestly no telling without some serious detective work or knowledge of what program its for.

Before I had braille in any form, i.e. through Calc 2, it was simple: I had a reader. And then I got out the delightful perkins brailler (limiting where I can meet the reader, because just imagine trying to get that across campus with a guide dog and a backpack and several other things) or the much less useful PACMate (because it fits in said backpack). And then i brailled stuff myself. Which sucks just about as much as it sounds like it does, and the only reason it worked at all is because I got a one in a million reader who didnt do it for the money but rather because he thought it was a genuinely fun and fulfilling thing to do and, on top of that, had the needed computer science and math knowledge to turn it into something sensible.But it ends up as braille anyway, at least if Im doing mathematical manipulations above a certain complexity. This complexity goes up as you practice with the computer, but never entirely goes away. You can

I second that. .dat is one of those file extensions which is not associated with a particular file format. It could be anything from a simple text file to some standard format like a .zip, but is probably a proprietary file format written for this particular program, and which absolutely no other program ever written will be able to handle.In most cases, even if you could extract the individual sound files, you still couldnt use them, because theyre encrypted. For example, Super Egg Hunts .dat files can be extracted using BGT if you know how, but the sounds still cant be used in any way because theyre encrypted. In these cases, if the developer really cares about the security of the sounds, the key needed to decrypt the sounds will be a carefully-guarded secret, and wont be obvious even in a memory dump of the active game program.

Hi, the reason players characters keep getting wiped out during the server moves is because file zilla isnt backing up the directory up fully. Also, ive thought more on this shareware thing. For the moment, im not quite ready to go shareware, not when dmnb is still new and while im preparing to move. Mayby possibly after the move I might consider making dmnb or dmpa shareware if I can find a good price for each.

Hi. I think what I was looking for was a bit more basic than that. Eg, how do you fly a spaceship? what sort of fuel do they use? wheredo you get these hauling missions? What the hell are points? Im sure there are many helpful people on the game, but my point is these sorts of basics should really be covered in the docs or introduction (indeed the current intro in the help even tells new players to first join an alliance which I found very confusing). Usually most muds have a new players these are the basics so you can start and then come back to the help sort of section, rather than for example having sections on lifters and combat and manual navigation without any section on how to fly a ship what the auto pilot does, how you haul or whatever, what the different types of ships might be etc.I will confess Im a little taken up with clok mud at the moment mud wise, but Ill certainly let pe
 ople know when I come back to have another look at prometheus, though I do mention these problems to highlight something which perhaps the developers, admins, and dedicated playerbase of the game could think about for the future, sinse its not such a big deal, but can be very offputting if a new player gets totally lost (that is why I didnt persist with empire mud, though i freely confess mud wise Im not the most experienced, indeed the pvp and nazi rp inforcement has always put me off games like mirani, which is a shamebecause some of the activities and systems in the game look interesting to play with, though that is another debate of course).

With Apple, I think its now pretty clear that hardware is driving their OS releases, so as of Mavericks, they can charitably be called service packs, with very minimal feature enhancement and almost no under-the-hood change, because you cant really choose not to run the latest and greatest without putting yourself out to dry. They maintain two back releases, with the features of those releases (currently Mountain Lion), which continue to run the supported hardware, after which they drop support entirely. That Microsoft is choosing to use this strategy, deliberately, is all the more astonishing, however, it does appear that they intend to liberate the components so as to allow for maximum flexibility in what and when you want to upgrade software. I think this is a very sensible thing to do, and further legitimises the thorny notion of an OS-as-a-service ( OAAS  ). As for in
 terop between iOS and Mac, well yeah, thats proving to be a bit of a turn-off for me, actually, though I can well see how nontechnical people appreciate it.With the app store situation, actually I can well imagine developers gravitating towards Windows as they now do for Android if they play their cards right. Apple doesnt make it easy for people to develop on Mac, or indeed iOS; in fact, theyre pretty horrible to developers who arent part of the Mac ecosystem and/or who dont have the patience, IMO to do it right or because of a lack of concern for anything but putting out the end product, which is why Apple has all these rules and regs in the first place. So I can well imagine Apple pronouncing and upholding a premium app store experience, even if, to be honest, I fear that they will lose to sheer economics in the end, despite MSs semi-open approach. The Mac App Store is not a given for an iOS developer; although you develop on Mac, your t

Hmmm, perhaps while giro is fixing up Airic two he could also see whats happening with kirt wolf, heck I always meant to return to the game and buy it myself sinse I liked the concept, and also its great to see a full scale graphical game that looks like crash bandicoot or something like that and have my vision make of it what I can, but get full scale audio support for all the stuff I cant do in 3D.

Missing semicolon on the third line. Missing definition of list_sound_devices, so even if you fix that its still not going to compile.Also, posting any error messages you get along with the program youre asking us to look over is a really, really big help in many cases.

Nick, their were some difficulties with audiogames.net when I tried to post the link.The site was down or something.To make up for this, Ive added even more content to the beta.Im sending you the link now.Once this gets a little more polished, I might decide to post a public beta.edit: Ive decided to make this a semi-public beta.Two other users posted in this topic that they were interested in; or couldnt wait for; chapter 3, so I sent them links.I also sent a link to a moddorater that seemed interested as well.Im going to finish up whats in the beta; hopefully with comments from these users, and then see where things stand.Chapter might see a May or June release, as finishing this beta took shorter than expected.

The RP very much depends on the individuals, some people are quite good while there are times someone tells me to chill and I die a little inside. As for skills and training they can be rather slow especially for crafting, how it works is when you buy training you receive one extra skill point in the skill then for the next 2.5 skill points you earn the game doubles it to represent you putting your tuition to practical use. This means you effectively get a total of 3.5 extra points compared to how much you normally get. The rolls such as for herbalism are between 0 and your skill plus a hundred, thus 30 herbalism gives you from 0 to 130 as your roll. Just as another note going above 50 herbalism lets you create poultices, though getting the ingredients can be tricky. The skills tend to go up by tiny amounts normally, maybe 0.05 per success increasing with the difficulty of the roll and they only go up on a success.A lot of the mobs are quite tricky and I find them difficult
  myself, though you can get rid of starving animals by carrying around a couple bits of raw meat and dropping one on the floor which the animal will then run off with. The tools are indeed quite specific, though if you look at the information in the shop it tells you exactly what each tool can be used for. Carving branches also seems to take a hellishly long time.Heres some advice regarding combat commands. First up is position, your choices are avoid which means youre trying to stay out of a fight altogether and the enemy finds it difficult to get to you in melee, ranged where you can shoot spells or other weapons at them but they still have to make a test to advance on you though it may not be as hard as for avoid, and engaged which means youre in melee. Thats fairly self explanatory, and in some cases ranged weapons will automatically try to keep you at ranged while using barrage while if you use battle itll automatically try to move into enga
 ged position. Think of it as being like short and medium ranges in smugglers 3. Next are tactics, none is the basic standard while offensive gives you a bonus to attack but a penalty to defence while dodge, parry or block give you a bonus to defence but a penalty to attack. These are basically stances. Dodge works best if youre not weighed down with armour but even with heavy armour you can still get some use out of it, block is for shields and parry is for parrying with your weapon and both of these depend on your weapon or shields ability to block or parry.Also of note is the health command which can not only tell you about your own injuries, but you can use health target to see how badly injured an opponent is. This works well in conjunction with the aim command, you can aim none or aim body part, you dont have any extra trouble hitting the opponent but the attack cool off is increased to 6 seconds and youre not guaranteed to hit the locatio
 n you want. Eyes and neck are particularly difficult to hit. Any vital location that receives 100 damage will cause an instant kill, or 50 in the case of eyes, so specifically aiming for vital locations that have taken a decent amount of damage already can help take an enemy down faster. Vital areas are abdomen, chest, back, neck, eyes and head. Beware though because the same applies to player characters.Dont rush into guilds, get a feel for the game and which aspects you enjoy first. Theres nothing wrong with staying guildless even though itd take some work to make the character more interesting in my opinion. If you see Hidrin, Kharda or Nalsa drop me a tell and Ill see what help I cant give you, though unfortunately I havent got around to signing up with the BBS thus far so I cant help with that.

Or to put it more simply, .dat isnt a file format its just an abbreviation for data. People come up with various different ways of storing various kinds of data, which can sometimes include sounds, in a single file for whatever reason and use .dat to signify that its a file that is required for the program in some way. .dat is just a catch all extension they use when the file doesnt fit with any existing file type.

The issue really is that most people on Windows use the major branded software packages, and these brands will likely be unwilling to share their profits with Microsoft via their app store. Like I said with iOS for good or ill the app store is necessary, and for the Mac there have been enough users unfamiliar with the ecosystem to make it worthwhile combined with the number of people who already have an Apple ID from the iOS app store or from the iTunes store. The problem I see is the Windows app store potentially being full of nothing but odds and sods, and they really need to get the big names on board. Chances of them doing this with games is slim because of Steam as well so thats doubly awkward.

Yeah, actually polymorphism is explained in the bgt language tutorial. It is a beautiful thing once you figure it out. I wish bgt subported abstract classes though. They seem pretty cool, because they force you to conform to a syntax. Basically so you dont miss something when you define your subclasses. Thats what I learned about in java.

Developer Diary for a game I'm realising, very similar to SoundMUD

Every developer goes through a never-ending learning phase. With every project they start, they learn something new, something they havent thought of before. Unless its a guess the number game. But still.Im pretty sure that every developer out there knows what Im talking about. And for those who would like to join me on a journey writing a SoundMUD ish game, can read and talk to me through a development diary Im starting. I wanted to log my thoughts from the very beginning to the final product.Its a very easy game. Hello Everyone.Im not sure since I havent had time to fully test it out but I think the avatar game that is based on the movie could possibly be accessible. For one I can actually hear my footsteps which helps me out a lot. But a downside to this is there is an objective indicator that shows you where to go to complete quests which is a problem. I will test some more and see what I can come up with. If it turns out this game is somehow accessible Ill let you know.

Id like to make this clear for new players. While I am indeed the games creator of course, and while I will answer any questions you have, what I dont like is constant questions every 30 seconds or 30 minutes, unless they are actually good ones, like if your having trouble navigating with your starship and youve red the manual, etc. Im a normal person, just like all of you. Just because im logd on doesnt mean bombard me with 1000 questions on whats new, if theirs anything new I will post, as ive always done for the dm and snow race games. When I log on, I log on to play and enjoy, much like you. I need breathing room to do a little me time, so as long as were all clear on that, and I wont get bombarded with questions which you could easyly have the answers for every 30 minutes, well all be good and the game will run smoothly.

Greetings folks. Anybody else noticed that donating quest items at least on map 1 appears not to be functioning properly? I completed two quests yesterday whilst attempting to build my reputation back up, and received absolutely no credit for the donations. Im reasonably sure I merged it properly into the sound folder. Theres no way this is causing any breakage is there? Ive also noticed this package doesnt seem to be readily available, and I think Sneak and Phanthom did a mighty good job on it. Is it permitted for me to distribute it? I could hold it in my dropbox folder if anyones interested. Maybe down the road, we could find a more stable place to host a Swamp Accessories package like what I distribute to interested friends I demonstrate the game to. This package currently contains Alternate weapons sounds Original Weapons Sounds, Drews Tutorial, Shane Davidsons Swamp Demo for Main Menu, and Cae Joness Map Editor. Can you think of other utilities and resources that might go well in a distributed accessories package?

You arent going to want to program that in c++. If youvev tried c++ at all you know that there is a lot to worry aobut especially when it comes to memory management. I would use something that has an automaticacagbage collector. Maybe c sharp or python. Though both of those languages have other downsides. Really youre playing a tradeoff game. Do you want a steeper learning curve or do you want some limitations? The limitations wont really hurt you much but youll also have to fined libraries that ork with the language you chose which would be hard to do.

Always use BTRFS; its quite fast and has recovery features. Alternatively, ask them what file system they want to use and proceed from there.

Hello colton,Here is a list of suggestions I think would be cool:A keyhook for jaws, and screenreader support. Those are all my current suggestions, as I play the game I may suggest more things. Seems like a cool project so far though. If you need help adding screenreader support, I can give you some code I have made for it or you can use the already existing classes for it such as speech manager.

mk9 is a 2D fighting game, so you can only move left or right, but you can jump and crouch.Same goes for injustice or any 2D fighters.

Hello,I do not believe bgt has support for xbox controlers and other gaming controlers such as those for ps. You may, however, be able to find a dll for such support, however Ive never needed this so have not really looked into it. Sorry I couldnt help more.
