Good point guys.hackers will get in if they are determined to just like terrorists will attack if they want to even though we are aware and secured it still happens.The same happens with computers, it doesn't matter how secure you are it is just harder to get in.You can not hope to block em all.Right, that being said you want to block the worst types of attacks.ddos obviously, people guessing passwords incription etc.usually a 128-256 bit is ok but you can put as much as you want and adjust things as you wish or need.In swamp there were cheaters and the game was made payed for online use.It didn't stop people spamming the system but well.You know I actually aggree with slj right now.1.61 was the last actual working version but 1.6 before mines came in worked well enough.If you want to can online you can it matters little if I use that or not though you will have to refund people if you do probably.I 
 won't do this just yet since you were good with processing orders and your sound product was reasonable.also 2d platformer is gone is this also being rewritten.Also thanks for the opensource source directory with all the extra stuff that was in the mtg test folder some of that is good.Some isn't but some is good.I'd also like 2d adventure added  back to maybe with a story ie why are you moving round blasting enemies with lasers automatic weapons and grenades.

@Violinist, that is a most handsome offer.  The metheglyn sounds lovely. I like mead generally (as does my lady),  plus mead is appropriate for a wedding sinse apparently the term "Honey moon" comes from the fact that back in yee middle ages, the bride and groom would spend a month after the mariage drinking mead which was supposed to help with,  , well the hole legacy business . I'll drop you an e-mail when we're a bit clearer on what we're doing time wise, sinse that sounds awesome! Quite the skill to have.

Hal 5 is designed to work on windows 2000 and XP, which probably means that the bundled version of Orpheus is probably normal 32-bit DLL's, so it shouldn't be impossible to extract it and run it on more modern Windows. I'm not sure how much both the Sam and Orpheus API's changed recently which could cause newer versions of sam to have problems communicating with Orpheus 1, or for NVDA to talk to the older version of sam. In any case it should be possible to get this to work, maybe without modifications, or maybe with just a few.

Well To an extent defender is correct. Any psychologist will tell you that most mental illnesses are exaggerations or conflations of the normal. My dad however worked on a very siple principle "Is it harming yourself or others" which to both Lord Lundin and Crashmaster, it sounds as if it does. If there is some sort of event, eg, a form of abuse that might be causing this it might be helpful to locate a community who deal with that sort of abuse generally, sinse abuse survivers tend to be an understanding bunch on average and such places tend to be extremely safe and very good for venting, exploring dark and twisted parts of yourself so you can bring them into the light, or just being able to say things you wouldn't say in a normal social situation, on or off line. I would however suggest looking for some assistance. I do not agree with defender that medication is the only! approach. It might be useful for a while, but it's not a wonder drug. You 
 dont' magically take some pills over some time and suddenly get better, medication just makes it easier to cope with everything else and set things in place to improve your life and social circumstances, maybe have some sort of therapy at the same time. The bottom line however is that you need to do! something about this. You have recognized there is a problem and something wrong, however it's now necessary to try and do something about it, which could take seeing a doctor, contacting someone for assistance, trying to change your life style somewhat, or indeed any and all of the above. No, it's not easy, but it's not impossible either. Btw,On one point I can say one thing. Anyone on this forum behaving maliciously with this situation will be in severe trouble. Myself and the other staff do have a duty to see members are okay, which includes when discussing psychological problems.

You can get the ball to be stuck not only below the paddle, but also to its side. The ball is probably bouncing off the paddle, then hitting one of the side walls, then bouncing back to the paddle and so on.As for powerups, I would love to see them in the arcade mode. Most mainstream breakout games give you powerups inside blocks that appear randomly on the board on occasion, so all you have to do is break a powerup block with the ball to get it. Things you can usually get range from extra balls, different kinds (like the fireballs someone mentioned earlier), larger paddles and so on. Most of these powerups are timed. Another one I can think of that would be good for this game is a low gravity powerup, or one that would give you a second ball that would remain in play either for time limit or until it stops moving.On iOS, blindfold breakout uses a shop system, where you can use your points to buy yourself different kinds of balls, but I'm not sure how well such a
  system would work in marina break because you're not really supposed to lose your ball. It might still have a use for possibly getting one-time use special paddle swings that could for example hit the ball with twice as much force as a normal swing would.

To be honest all this talk of connectors and lightning is a bit superfluous to me, sinse whatever the hardware is doing I just don't like Apple's software solutions to file handling for media, ie, the dreaded Itunes. Those who want an early copy can recieve one by going to the ap store and copy and pasting their soul into the appropriate box on the form, adding your name and address if you've prefer the actual physical demon to turn up with the complimentary pitch fork (this costs extra), otherwise it'll just get sucked into whatever Apple port you have open at the time. Well this threadcromancy is because yesterday I finally! got to see the film, and sinse I've not noticed any starwars related topics I thought I'd share my thoughts. This of course does mean massive "Luke I am your father!" style spoilage ahoy for this post for whomever has not seen the film, so beware!In general I have to say I liked it! the plot to action ratio was far better than I expected, ie, it actually had a plot. han and Chewbaka were amazing and took up lots of the film, indeed I like the fact Han was such a major character and Han and leya were very much themselves. Fin and Po have also been called the best Bromance in a long time which is true, because the pare were awesome, though I was amused at the fact Fin apparently has been described as the galaxy's most accurate shot for a storm trooper . I loved the little digs a
 t starwars, and I even rated how they got the millenium falcon back into the plot, john Williams also delivered yet again (Indeed I'm going to be looking around for a copy of the soundtrack). I saw the film audio described, which was also nice and meant I got a lot of the fun action sequences. I'll say the only superfluous one was Han and the large tentacle monsters, but Hay, han Solo and large tentacle monsters? what is not to like! Kylo Ren was also a fun bad guy, particularly with how he came across as a slightly pathetic Vader Fan boy, though I do wish we saw a bit more of snoke, indeed my friend and I speculated that sinse the massive hologram of a 20 foot grey skinned giant was huge, maybe Snoke in reality is tiny,  perhaps the next film will be called "the bantum menace!" .My only major issue with the film was one of a huge side
  order of "wh!" Who in vader's name are the first order? Where did they come from? how can Kylo Ren have Vader's helmet and skull as a sort of fan boy when Luke burnt Vader's helmet? Where did voodoo lady get Luke's Saber,  (wasn't it lost somewhere at cloud city in Empire), and how is that Saber Luke's and Vader's anyway, considering that Obywan gave it to Luke in A new hope and it was clearly his (did Obiwan pick up the wrong saber after that faar too ridiculous lava duel of stupidity in revenge of the sith?). Anyway, sinse when have light sabers ever been personalized? I was amused by the fact that Fin looked so great with a saber, even when he clearly sucked, though I thought the idea of Rey suddenly gaining force powers with no training was a bit farsical. Indeed, She's got a big sign over her head saying "plot device!" My brother and I are hoping they don't go down the obviou
 s route and make her either Kylo Ren's twin or Luke's Daughter, though the fact that she flies off at the end to find Luke leaving C3Po, R2D2, Leya, chewbaka, and pretty much everyone who ever knew Luke behind was a bit of a giveaway, as was the oh so subtle vision she had. I did however like the fact that her and fin actually had a romance where they liked! each other (sound the trumpets! someone finally gets this!). My problem with Snoke (apart from the fact he has the galaxy's least intimidating name)was again, where the hell is this guy from? I realy! hope we get some origin story next film.As to the earlier fears Cae mentions of "Scope creep", well to an extent. The giant super mega hyper death star of entire system killing was a bit superfluous I thought, though rather cool from a logic perspective, particularly with the sucking in a son. I also wonder though, what was the hole point of the new republic? and why exactly do we still
  have a resistance when there was apparently a republic? wouldn't the so called "resistance!" have been the republic's armed forces? and if they were resisting the first order, well why did the first order need to blow up the new republic at all? I can see why they skipped the politics given how badly that went down in the prequals (mostly because it was amazingly badly thought out), but again, where is the background here? Btw, speaking of the prequals, I was amused by the Storm trooper captains comment when she's asked why she hasn't got a clone army and violently says how crappy clone armies are. Did anyone else get the feeling that was the director talking to the audience?Now for the big one, the elephant in the room. Han Solo. I must confess I knew what was going to happen the second Solo said "hay son lets have a friendly father son chat above the large ominous catwalk, oh and bring that lovely red light saber! after all 
 the Skywalker family have always had such a great " history of family reunians in such places" That being said, I do confess I did have a real moment of "aagh!" when I saw Kylo Emo boy stab Han Solo. ACtually my lady, though she's not an intensive Starwars fan (we're listening to audio descriptions of the first few films), was really shocked at the news when I told her. @Wanderer, fair enough on the skeeing. I confess I much preferd cross country after trying both, far less commercial and crowded and more about getting out into the mountains, but hay whatever floats your skees . Let me know how you find it. I've heard the term "French press" for a cafeteir before, but to me that always sounds like a wrestling hold . As for me, yesterday I went to see the new starwars film after missing the premier. It would've been nice to see the premier, but never mind, and in fairness christmas was pretty momentous anyway. As for my thoughts on the film you can find them hin the last post on this topic sinse I had a lot to say (I'm surprise
 d there's not been more starwars discussion on the forum). I also saw my brother for a great meal at a new bbq place. We had a rather bizarre sandwich (or rather a tiny bun full of loads of meet that was impossible to eat with anything but a knife and fork), called amusingly "the pit master!" which to me always sounds like the bad guy from a martial arts film rather than a cook. It had pulled pork, chease and jalapino sausages, and some great beef as well as onions and fried pickles. We also had with it some corn bread which is not seen over here and was nice, and a truly amazing desert involving burbon and cream soda sponge with bbq'd marshmellows and popping candy. It was a very American type of place which is odd having just come back from there, but was a good meal, albeit the brazillian barbeque place we usually go to is probably better especially for the price. Other than that I've been marking time somewhat until my lady arri
 ves, even with six dragons and other games, this week is crawling, though on the plus side I am slaughtering the computer on blindfold hearts, I am on 29 penalty points while everyone else is 150 or higher. I think I'll have to set the skill limit of the other players up and the points to win a game down.

EHello;I'm having trouble with creating a table using HTML. I'm doing this because I have a bad memory and need to write down what I buy every day so that I don't forget and i find tables easyest to work with.Here's what I've got so far.Start of HTML code.JernalJernalDateActionEnd of HTML code.I know that if I add in the  things like the date and what I did on that day that it will work, (I've tried it.)The issue is that I want it to go like this; Date , alt control right arrow, then hear the date, go to the next row below that one,, which is action,. then alt
  control right arrow and hear the action.What it does at the moment is it puts the data below the headings. I guess it's meant to do that but when ever I've seen a table its always been date, next to that the date. underneath that would be age, next to that the age and so on.Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?I was thinking of just using xl so I might just do that instead but I'd like a table if I can get it working correctly.

You should read the inform7 guide. One comes with the installation, but there's also one at the inform website. I think there's an example of a moving room there. As far as extensions, most have documentation at the website. Think there's even a vehicles extension.  A keypad.. hmm, you'll probably need to create buttons and a press action. press is an action applying to one tangible item understand pressing something, pushing something or touching something as pressing. A button can be pressed or unpressed. when the blue button, the green button and the purple button are pressed: now the door is open;or something similar.  There is an interactive fiction forum with an inform 7 section, they'd probably be a lot more helpful in using inform than audio games.

Sure, Magurp, that's probably the best idea.I've seen people making hacks and modifications to the original code of Undertale and I assume they're modifying the original Demo file so I think we should be alright, I'm gonna see if they have any issues with it. There is a SAM driver for NVDA, meant to be used with Orpheus 2. It is possible to get it to use Orpheus 1, assuming that it's the only version of Orpheus on your system, but the UK English voices are listed as opposed to the other languages, where as Orpheus 2 and the SAM driver for NVDA lists all languages and voices.

Fraid I have to be the one to dash your hopes - the latest models of PS3 don't support PS1 games, as far as I'm aware - they removed any kind of backwards compatibility after problems with the 60 GB model when the feature was in place at launch.  Playstation now is only available on PS4 and is a paid streaming service (or maybe now they've switched to digital downloads).  So the best option would be to get the console itself to not have to worry about the uncertainty.

Well the way to install Supernova v13 on XP now is most definitely to install Orpheus 1, then the latest version of SAM from Dolphin or the v15 disc, then Supernova itself. Then you can have the Vocalizer Expressive voices under XP, which I have tested to work correctly, using the latest 32-bit SAM driver.But back to Orpheus. Surely the NVDA driver need only be a client of SAM, and need not have special knowledge of installed synthesisers under SAM?

Awesome, I look forward to seeing the corpse descriptions, sinse I always like knowing about what nasties I've been fighting.Edit: okay, corpse descriptions are cool, as are the new bank instructions, I have an account now which is good. One thing I do wonder, which is not access related is how to get into cities? sometimes I see them in the wilderness, but can't find a way of entering, eg, I found one near Kirwood swamp and wondered if the quest to go to Kirwood swamp was located in the city. Indeed some way of finding quests in areas, as well as tracking which areas you'd visited would be nice, indeed as someone who like exploring I always loved games that gave more xp for discovering and exploring new areas. I would also, as I said earlier love a way to improve my character's base stats, eg, earning glory points within the game perhaps for completing quests or doing other tasks, though if glory is to remain a very special curr
 ency just for in game promotion, another way of stat increase might be nice, especially if it were based on another different activity, eg, perhaps you could have an alchymist who would offer to make stat increase potions for you but only if you wandered the wilderness map finding randomly dropped ingredience for them (I love traversing the wilderness and as I said the wilderness mobs are cool!).

I guess both could have their own scoreboard, I think velocity attack would be nice to have a scoreboard as well if it gets implemented. Not sure how easy it is to create more boards but it would definitely be fun. But I do agree that we need to keep a score attack without powerups too.

Yes, sucks to be blind. I'll give you that. But you do still have a choice, and it's not Apple, Microsoft or Google. You won't like it very much though. But to be honest (any surprises coming up?), I think I'd use iPhone anyway, because privacy. I think that's a rather important virtue of Apple compared to the competition just now. Maybe, if one of the FLOSS Android distros actually gained any kind of inroads concerning accessibility ... same for Mac over Doze. I really want to have choices, but just now, Apple is the least worst.As for audio, well of course if you don't need great audio from your phone all this is pretty moot, yes. I walked into one room and got killed so quickly I didn't even realize by a city gate mob. I cast the fade spell on myself then went back to get my corpse and once again bash! so, that's over 200 k xp (including all I got from tripple xp timer),
  gone west, plus a bunch of equipment that scummy undertaker thieved off me!  methinks death be harsh in this game if you can get killed in one hit for walking into the wrong area and lose all that progress, particularly sinse I'm anxious to get to level 10 sinse I seem to have reached a point where I've run out of quests sinse the only ones I've found have needed me to be level 10.

Even if I kept my windows machines for overall general browsing and whatever else it is I do nowadays, they don't build windows like they used to.And yes, I have to agree on the privacy front; the fact that Siri is listening to me at all times doesn't bother me as much as the idea that MS seems to never leave me alone; at least I can tell Siri to buzz off if I have to.  Ever since windows 10 came out though, MS has seemed, er, intrusive?  Maybe it always was and I just, didn't care, or didn't notice, or noticed and didn't care?  Maybe there was some pride in the idea that I had to actually sit around and maintain my PC's on a regular basis, check them for viruses, deal with the registry, run around after spyware and addware and malware and 
 ransomware and bloatware and whatever else it is that keeps a person from truly enjoyable and seemingly hassle free computing experiences.  And yes, I'll say it again, maybe money.  I'm not made of the stuff. :dI've gone down the linux road; good for various kinds of management and coding, but not for what I do on a regular basis, and that's what I think really matters.  Maybe I'll throw everything out now and cry.

The NVDA SAM driver requires SAM to be installed on your system, so you can't use it in a portable copy unless SAM is installed, usually done with a SuperNova install. As far as I know, the driver is mainly optimized for Orpheus 2, and so if you're going to change a few settings with Orpheus itself, like voice parameters, you will need to launch SAM Configuration and configure Orpheus from there, because NVDA's native voice settings dialog only has rate and voice as your options when using SAM with NVDA.

Yeah, Microsoft are clearly getting desperate: not only are they trying to privacy-rape you, they're now double-dipping those who've somehow managed to opt out of the Windows 10 nagfest who will actually have to pay to be privacy-raped. Between the spyware and the nagging, I've made my mind to stay on Mac OS and Windows XP for the foreseeable future. And I don't care if that makes me some kind of luddite, if for no other reason than that I clearly am. As for audio production, it's certainly being done among the blind, although it is not for myself a primary focus. I suggest you sign up for macvisionaries and/or AppleVis and ask your questions. I have a sound editor that I use for occasional cuts, called Amadeus Pro. Jonathan Mosen has a paid tutorial which I found very useful.I'm not going to pretend that Macs are perfect. They aren't. But, they're still on my desk and in my bag. Make of that what you will. I would love to hear your take on a Mac, if you ever get one.

@Vladaar,  yep, I found the  undertaker,  however  I seemed to lose  a hole bunch of things I was wearing from my corpse, in addition to the losss of a hole bunch of xp (I was just 10 K from getting to level 9). Fare enough if death is intended as that  harsh, though I did feel it was a bit much, particularly sinse the same guard killed me  twice as when I went back to get my corpse with Fade I got slaughtered again, similarly in one hit!  I personally feel the xp loss and! the equipment loss from undertaker retrievals is a bit much when you can be killed in one hit, however it's obviously your game and if you want it like this I'll just be more careful in future.

It'd be as honest as I can make it.  I've only ever messed with one in an Apple store, which isn't enough to do the thing justice.  I didn't care for the way things were done, but I've been using windows for the better part of 15 years now.  Much like the concept of the iPhone which for me is more an acquired taste than a true, die hard preference owing to it being bundled with the concept of touchscreen devices, period, I know that unless I get at least a week with a mac I can't be honest.  I might not be sold on it, but I could be persuaded to possibly use it as my primary computer.

Nods, yeah, sorry, it came off like I was considering pills as the only way, but what I meant was that you should probably go with those first to make it easier to actually accomplish anything with therapy, since, and I'm speaking from experience here, it's hard to get your head out of your ass enough to truly understand and discuss your issues when you are still in the midst of being controlled by them.That said, it's different for each person, but I do tend to notice that trend with people that say they've tried talking before to no avail, and so have given up on it as a solution, my self included, but haven't really thought through the fact that it's obviously very difficult to talk about the comparison between your normal state and your altered state, when you've been this way for so long that you can't even remember what it's like to feel the way you used too any more.

Right. NVDA will restart SAM when you make changes within SAM, so when that happens, you may need to switch synthesizers, so switch from Orpheus to another syntheszizer, and then switch back to Orpheus, or, switch to another synthesizer while in the SAM configuration dialog box, at least, that method worked for me.

Undoubtedly, force of habit will ease the frustration, but there is no doubt that it's quite different. Still, as of Yosemite, a lot more Windows users can no longer claim the exclusive benefit that you can do web browsing just using the arrow keys; Apple have a focus tracking mode, so you can move the system caret and read by line, just as you do in Windows. It is not, I think, quite yet the preferred mode, but it covers you for cases where it is useful, for instance copy-pasting chunks of text or drilling down in a very long paragraph.And I completely understand your distinction between acceptance and delight. I too would love to live in an earlier age where things were, as far as possible for the time, optimal. There are certainly things to like and hate about both Windows and Mac, and both have ups and downs, with a distinct push in the direction towards mob
 ile devices contributing towards their downwards movement in recent times. It is, I think, only a matter of choosing the one which ultimately meets your needs, and gives you the most joy. For me, that is OS X, right now.

Ah, nostalgia.  It really does though, come down to choosing the lesser of two, or more, evils.  I still have a vague suspicion that, in a few years time, all of this won't matter anymore.  Apple is currently considering buying Time Warner, a move I hardly think makes any sense. While this alone may not actually bring about the downfall of a company that is worth forty something billion dollars, continuous moves of this nature might.  MS?  Well, I think the phrase, too little, too late may suffice here.  It lost its original fan base long ago because it was unwilling to support its habits.  It too is responsible for trying to muscle its way through the world of technology, using tactics like pushing IE as the overall best product and only product capable of rendering a website usable for so long.  Now it's trying to shy away from the IE brand altogether, knowing that it's a lost cause.  FF and Chrome are too far ahead tho
 ugh, and even Safari offers more stability where accessibility is concerned.As I've stated above though, Apple has been pretty good about revolutionizing things.  The smartphone may not have been Apple's idea, but it certainly executed it nicely enough and set a standard for how devices of such nature should and would and could work.  It's doing away with the floppy drive proved that it was time to go, and so on.

To all of you who think Apple is more accessible, I have to say that your experiences with Android vary due to many factors. First, different manufacturers preinstall bloatware on their devices, often making them complicated to use. Custom skins might look visually appealing, but to a blind user they don't do much. If you want Android to work for you as simply as possible, go with nexus devices. Stock Android is quite plain, but very easy to navigate.Secondly, people often make the comparison between VoiceOver and TalkBack and then reach the conclusion that iOS taken as a whole is more accessible. However, I think your issue really is with TalkBack itself. I have to admit that the TalkBack development team has been rather slow at implementing meaningful improvements into their updates. I have to say that the most recent release has been their best one in years, but there are still issues with web views and keyboard shortcuts are still lacking in many areas. However, I a
 lso tried Shine Plus and have to say that in many respects, it is superior to TalkBack. It has a command panel that allows users to change settings on their devices and offers shortcuts that allow for increasing and decreasing volume and speech rate, as well as navigation levels. The biggest difference between the two screen readers is that Shine Plus, like Spiel can be extended through scripts to work with applications that aren't accessible out of the box. So, it isn't Android, but the limitations of TalkBack that are discouraging many iPhone owners from switching.My final point is that this headphone jack issue is just a rumor. I don't agree with the move if it is indeed true, but a screenshot of the new device hasn't even been released, so there is no proof of this actually being the case. So, you can stick with your old phones, or take the plunge and dive into Android if you have enough courage.

Hi,It’s so sad that they’re doing this, but if the decision is made, hard it’ll be to change anything. I hate the fact that we will be forced to keep an extra cable, or whatever kind of bloody adaptors to use a pair of headphones. I’m planning to get an iPhone 6 or 6s because I’m leaving android for some time, maybe 2 or 3 years until such significant progress is made. Android is a great platform, but it lacks in accessibility, and therefore makes it somewhat unusable for us. I can use my phone to log in to facebook, skype, whatsapp, use youtube and other apps but still, talkback needs a great deal of improvements. When an update of 6 months ago or so was released, I got mad at developers who were feeling happy about two shitty worthless features they had introduced and the saddest point was that most of the people in the group were happy with them. Also, I had to deal with massive harsh responses who kept telling me that if you do not like android, go ahead an by a fucking iPhone! To be honest, I don’t want to lick ones ass by continuously bagging to the developers for adding new features to a screen reader. I hate pleasing to someone for something that I want. In this case you are in a state where you are not sure whether you’ll be able to make use of your phone in a certain area of it. For example, many people in the android world are frantically waiting to see the day when they will be able to exclusively use their devices on the internet because HTML navigation elements are not implemented yet. If I want a phone, I want it to work greatly in daily basis, I want that the screen reader built into it to be capable of accessing most or nearly all of phone’s areas. I don’t like getting distracted by a list of apps that will enhance accessibility on my device, + a number of tutorials which will explain to me that if I want to use this, I have to install that, because that cannot work without this.So, despite of my preference or hatred towards apple, I have to buy an iPhone because indeed, it is the only company that has truly invested time and effort on accessibility. I really do not like apple, (itunes is the most rational reason) and other restrictions of apple, and why not take into consideration money.It’s really sad that they cannot compromise with customers but instead do whatever their haughtiness tells them to do.Oh, don’t forget, we own 185 billion dollars mate, nobody will care of what you say.

Yes. Webviews still not being accessible is the most absolutely absurd and sad thing about the whole Android experience. It's an embarrassment! Honestly, I respect (some of) the principle objections Android users make about Apple, but seriously, you've got to come back down from the moon and take a long, hard look at Google's accessibility commitment.  t as it matured.  That's why I'm gravitating more toward apple at the moment.  That's not to say Apple and iOS are better than Android for anyone, anyone other than myself, the average consumer.  I'm willing to embrace, as I've pointed above, that the tides change all the time, but now's not the time, not yet, and I make that claim given the amount of iOS devices in the hands of blind individuals, including the ones I've helped set up over the past 6 years.  The facts still holds, however, that when the devices come in the mail, one camp of consumers does little more than tap on their home buttons three times or plug straight into their computers and open iTunes to set up voiceover, while the other camp is looking for sighted assistance unless they've gone to some lengths to have store and or other service reps take care of that part for them.right now, I prefer machines running windows, not machines running OSX. 
 ; Right now, I prefer using NVDA on my PC, not JAWS, not Windoweyes, and certainly not voiceover.  right now, after a year of tangling with Android and various shells and its semi complicated gestures and the fact that yes, deny it all you want, some of its accessibility camp would love for it to feel more like iOS, I've grabbed up an iPhone 6s+, because that's what I have time for.  Two hours after I unboxed and unwrapped it, I was satisfied, even though there's probably more I can still do.Android is not without perks though, nor will I ever claim that.  I'll miss the fact that I could stay away from proprietary software and hardware for a whole year to do things that should be simple, things like charging, things like transferring music and ringtones, things like using whatever friggin speech synth I want, things like being able to shake my device and give it a simple command and watching it follow through with said command, rather than ha
 ving to holds down a button while I talk to my personal assistant or go into settings and toggle a feature on or off that'll spy on me for the duration of however long it stays on.  It's not enough for me, however, and I think a year was a reasonable amount of time to reach that conclusion.  Some day in the future, however distant or otherwise, I may give it yet another shot, because that's what I do.  I try things.  I like remaining open minded to change.  Why this earphone jack business is bothering me right now has more to do with personal matters, such as the fact that I'm hearing impaired as well as being blind.  Finding headphones and earbuds that work properly for me is hard enough.  To know that I'm probably going to have to take an extra step is not welcome, anymore than it would be welcome to know that my favorite restaurants have given up their delivery services, or as unwelcome as the news that Amazon has appare
 ntly started tinkering with captchas.  it's one more hurtle, one more effort, one more time i have to bite my tongue and refrain from using every German word in my limited arsenal.

lol That'll be fun.  I sincerely hope my above post didn't come across as sarcastic since I didn't intend for it to.  I am genuinely curious, and I've heard various blind individuals claim success on that front.  I remember awhile back I was on skype with my smartphone and aiming felt weird, since I felt like I was aiming the thing sideways at my face or something to get the best view.  Oh well...  I'll figure out a way to practice eventually.

Sadly though, at least when I tried it a couple of months back, you still need alternative views for doing fairly basic things, or scripts to make those views accessible. I don't mind if you're all right with having to limit yourself like that, but there is no way I could tolerate it. And yes, Nexus, of course. It's a 4, so with Lollipop is now starting to get really slow.

IN Lollipop, web views are now installed as a system service. So, you no longer need scripts to enhance access to them with screen readers like TalkBack. Though they are still not as robust as they are on iOS, they have improved since the introduction of explore by touch in Ice Cream Sandwich.

Yo,The discussion is driving into another direction, but anyway, speaking of two screen readers, Talkback and ShinePlus, the difference is not big, or, if you make a small research yourself, they are almost identical in terms of functionality.Talkback reads notifications automatically, for example, when a new message in mesenger or whatsapp has just arrived, while shineplus does not. ShinePlus does not support linear navigation, while talkback does. ShinePlus is faster, but the language used to formulate commands is very poor. Talkback may be slower, but it supports firefox and ShinePlus does not. ShinePlus has a very messy and crowded “command panel” but talkback has two context menus, very clear and easy to access. Moreover, talkback offers you the possibility to change gestures, for example, you can swipe (flik) left to right with one finger to open notifications where ShinePlus does not offer this.I used ShinePlus for three months or so, and the only thing I like is its speed and some other options inside the screen reader. However, the developers of it are Korean, so their English is extremely bad. I also joined the eyes-free group, and I realised that around 98% of the group didn’t understand the English that is used there. Since I study English academically, I was able to make sense of what was being said there so I could use the screen reader without any problem.All in all, in the end, you will not be able to choose between the two screen readers, since none of them will make up your mind, obviously for the above reasons I mentioned.

@sightless, you're half right... they removed ps2 backwards compatibility after a brief spell of it on the older 80 gb model, then the last fat ps3s had the ps2 compatibility completely removed. But because the ps3 can still play ps1 classics from the store, that compatibility stayed.. and so discs do indeed still work.

 This first level is a bit tricky for you guys because there is an upper and lower level. It's basically open area with a ring around it that is the upper level. After you get past this first level things are a lot easier to navigate.
