But until translation has been implemented, then I see it as an issue. If you type in the messages sapi announces in the game, and for example choose the danish language, Arabic, Japanese, German or whatever other language, you'll realize that people really have to get used to understand when the sapi voice in their language speaks english. So in other word

If not in their own language, then in english, which of course is the reason for people are switching the voice on their screenreader. So, because my main language is danish, I switch the voice on whatever screenreader I'm using to english while reading english text. The same goes for the sapi voice if I need to use that, because I don't understand all the english text read by a danish voice.I do really understand why you want sapi to announce those messages in the battles from the enemys persission, because it feels more natural, but the sounds are comming from the enemies anyway, and the enemy don't have the sapi voice, like wolf don't talk, so for that reason I don't mind using a screenreader announcing the status if an enemy has been hit or not. I can easily identify what enemy the screenreader is talking about because of the sounds. I'm not saying that t
 he sapi feature should be removed. but this should just be an optional thing if you wanna use sapi for that or the screenreader.I'll recommend you to give the demo page a try, so you can see for yourself what I mean. You can start out by the most known languages: German, Frensh, Spannish, and then the other languages just to see that things are getting even more worse and funny. The thing is, that's a pretty tall order.  I do a lot of accessibility scripting at work, and trust me when I say it's not the kind of thing you can just throw together a little script to fix.  I'm not even sure how it could be done from a script.  I've played that game and it's full-on 3D, so unless I could somehow access the source code and rig up a custom build, it would require some kind of crazy pixel comparison algorithm to make that thing accessible.  Scripts are good for simple data entry software (and even then can be tough) but to make a complex game accessible (even with the source) would be as massive a project as trying to create an accessible version from scratch.  I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm just saying I don't know how.

Hi.So, I wanted to try out the beta for a bit before posting anything, so I have something to say. Yesterday, after I had spent some hours playing the game and tried to get used to things, I tried to connect to the server, which worked great. However, I was the only player online at that time. As I'm writing this post, I get the message telling that the server is full, but for some reason, I managed to create my game anyway. I'm pretty confused, because I don't know if everything then would be lost or not if I play my game, while getting the message that the server is full.Feedback about the actual game:The gameplay is really good. I love the way you are forced to build things, and the way you can check what everything requires. This is awesome. However, I have a lot of questions:1: What trickers the enemies to come, and do they also come i
 n the single player mode? I was building a lot and took a lot of time getting used to the game. I expected some enemies to come just like Castaways 1, but thankfully that didn't happened.  It would just be great to know what trickers the enemies to come.2: I still don't get where the multiplayer part comes in, when it seems as you only have your own small land and nothing more. Yes, you have the online market where you can buy and sell stuff, but in which ways comes the multiplayer features? Can you help the other players in any ways? Are you fighting against the same enemies, which means if you don't fight, then the other players just have to deal with more enemies?I do understand that this game is not what you have planned, and I'm really thankful that you still wanna work on this... But I'm not sure on what to expect when it comes to multiplayer.<
 br />The only small disappointment is if I understand this right, the server will be reset each week, which means if you have played the game for months, you wouldn't get anything at all compared to those who only have played for two weeks. It would be nice to get any kind of achievements or goodies for having played for long time.

As far as I know, the customer gets to set the price. They're encouraged to pay a reasonable price, since if they don't, future drivers will be less likely to pick them up, but otherwise, they can pay what they want.

I've heard of "enablers" before as Ironcross mentions, especially in connection with alcoholics, however "feederism"  is a new one on me. I actually don't really see the point of  why it needs it's own buzword, Gluttany,    over indulgence, there are plenty of terms for this already and it's already known about. Sad when it happens to people, particularly sinse the advertising execs and a lot of the companies who make snack foods and pack them full of chemical adatives to increase addiction thrive on causing this sort of problem, but not something that needs it's entire vocabulary or really should be an "ism", just an unfortunate problem for many people in society. Sad when it happens, but really the province of a psychologist.

Hmmm, so I assume from this that the definition of a loving wife is one who shows her feelings via the gift of an Apple watch? - aagh! my wife doesn't love me! that's it, the weddings off, it's dmed! dooomed! Thank you Nocturnus for pointing out this horrible pitfall I was going to fall into. I mean, the soon to be Mrs. Dark is the most wonderful person on the planet, but sinse she's not got me an Apple watch and has (I believe), no plans to get onek, obviously this wonderfulness is just a front for her actual, none apple watch giving soul and she's planning something incredibly nasty, - like eating me on our wedding night, or carving my body into small bits, or just going through the next fourty years of mariage without! giving me an Apple watch, -- hmmph! Dodged a bullit there obviously. Of course I could circumvent this hole thing by getting myself an Apple watch, as indeed i was actually planning to do, b
 ut then I'd have to marry myself, and if i were married to myself I couldn't marry my lady without committing bigamy, which would be even bigger because it involved me, and really wouldn't work sinse I'd constantly be arguing with my wife about what wifely duties were towards me, who was also my husband, and my wife, and sinse I'd then be my husband and my wife and not able to prvent myself from having children i'd probably end up being my own son as well, which would finish up with me being an entire family to myself and my wife, the one who actually will be my wife as opposed to me who will be my wife simply by virtue of presenting me, that is me my husband with an Apple watch would get horribly confused, - I mean, how can I dress as both a bride and groom with one body, still more confusing if there's another bride! UIf however for the sake of arguement I risk it and actually continue with the hole wedding thing and gtet myself an app
 le watch (bigamy aside), one thing I was wondering is what sort of stuff it does? I actually was considering getting one mostly so i could use blindsquare and get directions on my wrist and not need to take my phone out of my bag, as well as do phone calls and such while holding my guide dog, sinse I've yet to really grow enough hands to be able to do both, and also having blindsquare run through my watch would make it far easier to hear. Would that work? I'd be interested to know. oh and btw Nocturnus, how're you and yours doing post flud? do you have furniture and rooves and possibly even some walls and things, or are you stil living up a tree. I hope things are sorting out, or at least that you've developed the knack of sleeping while clinging onto a branche with your toes.

Hi. just a couple of questions. First, does the game have actual quests where you do things or are they auto kill quests? also, what about remorts and multiclass and stuff like that? Is the game more an aardwolf style hack n slash, or does it have more  things to do such as crafting and what not.You mention "accessibility for the game client" well as you probably know, most Vi/blind players use clients that work with screen readers namely mushclient or vipmud.If sounds and msp are being implemented this could be good (both will do it though you need the full version of vipmud), however how compatible with screen readers a custom game client would be I'm not sure. What would help would be things like low spam modes, )particularly in fast battles), and some commands to find directions or take the place of things like ascii maps (if any), which tend to be a pain with screen readers.

To answer a couple of questions, from what I understand, Tom had a brain tuma. He had a lot of medical issues with various infections and other problems over the past few years (one reason why he didn't get as much done on game development work as I thought). In December I believe there was a brief, and indeed quite abrupt message from him on the audeasy mailing list, which, as people may know, he was the moderator. One reason this is such a shock is that as has been said, last we heard he seemed to be getting better, or at least that was what we hoped. Sad news indeed, and a major loss, especially to long time community members who likely knew Tom as a friend (some of my own and others' reminiscences see the topic in the news).

I liked Klango because of it's media catalogue. I didn't look into the forums anymore, I didn't care about them anymore, because they were full of spam messages anyway. But for sorting favourites, listening to radio streams, podcasts, etc. it was just fine! And I didn't yet found another suitable software which is as confortable to handle as the Klango player, so in case of Klango is "back to life" - in question - I would still continue using Klango for my media needs.I think Klango had it's golden years in 2009 until 2011, especially after the release of Klango 3, which brought a lot of awesome features with it.But in late 2011, the first thing what broke down was the Youtube support, other features followed.

Sorry everyone, I made a small code change before I went to bed, and it confused the server into thinking it was maxed out.  I have corrected the typo so people should be able to connect now.SLJ, for the moment, goblins do not show up in single player and in multiplayer they only show up once you've begun spreading to other plots of land.  Much of that may change in the future, as well as potentially random weather events, or other things to keep people on their toes.Building a store, or multiple stores, will allow you to sell supplies to the other players in multiplayer.  You can also make carts and use them to send supplies to them too, if you just want to help out friends.  Sending pikemen, knights, and saboteurs is a way you can attack other players in multiplayer.  These aren't something you'll notice much in the first day or 2, just because it takes everyone a bit of time to build up to using troops.  Once people are

Sorry everyone, I made a small code change before I went to bed, and it confused the server into thinking it was maxed out.  I have corrected the typo so people should be able to connect now.SLJ, for the moment, goblins do not show up in single player and in multiplayer they only show up once you've begun spreading to other plots of land.  Much of that may change in the future, as well as potentially random weather events, or other things to keep people on their toes.Building a store, or multiple stores, will allow you to sell supplies to the other players in multiplayer.  You can also make carts and use them to send supplies to them too, if you just want to help out friends.  Sending pikemen, knights, and saboteurs is a way you can attack other players in multiplayer.  These aren't something you'll notice much in the first day or 2, just because it takes everyone a bit of time to build up to using troops.  Once people are

Hi.I have just tried to make an online game, but it won't work. I don't get any connection issues, but when I'm trying to get some long grass or do other tasks, nothing happens. If I keep trying, it says no freee workers available. When it says no free workers available, the task list is empty, so I'm not sure on what to do. I tried to write hi on the chat, but no one replied. Well, I might have been the only one on the server, but I couldn't get the game to say how many who was connected.I'm also experiencing that you need to keep try to connect, otherwise you get the message that the website can't be reached.

SLJ there are quite a few on the server right now, so my guess is that something went wrong as you logging in.  I remember seeing you connect, then vanish soon after.  That would also explain why your jobs weren't working.Croksland I'm still searching for a cause.  The fact that the game closes afterward is actually helpful because it further narrows down where this could be.

To everyone getting the "IE settings" error when trying to connect, please be advised that Castaways 2 is currently using that same message for any database related error.  The problem is likely not your IE settings, but just the fact that my web host's database is acting up.I find that when it gives me that error, just sitting a little longer usually connects me just fine.

For everyone else having the same problem with 7-zip, you can just open the zip file, then copy just the sounds folder, that should fix it. Not sure why it does that, because it doesn't do that with any other files, just the castaways 2 one, but no one else got that error, so like I said, it might be my computer.I don't have an account, but I've tested the single player mode and it's kind of nice. I haven't figured out that much yet, but I'll do it eventually. Sometimes there will be no long grass on the map anymore though, and then I usually get stuck, because it doesn't grow back.Very nice game, Aprone, keep the great work up!

Aprone, does Castaways 1 multiplayer run on the same server as Castaways 2? I haven't been able to connect at all so I tried starting a multiplayer game on Castaways 1. That seems to work just fine.I made sure to allow the game through the firewall. I get the message "connecting to server" and then nothing. I've let it sit for at least 5 minutes. Just trying to figure out if it's something on my end since other people seem to be able to get online.

A new client update was just posted.  It fixes a few issues.  The download link is the same as before.Changes from 1.9b to 1.9c- Goblins can now show up during multiplayer.  They will show up on new plots someone grabs, once the person owns at least 3.- Starting a new single player game now correctly clears your inventory.- Fixed some server code that was causing frequent resyncings to occur with the clients.- Fixed a bug where you could end up frozen and unable to move around your plot.- Added a bit of debugging code to try and help a few players that keep seeing errors.

Well, the database crashed again this morning and was down for about 5 hours.As I look into the error logs it seems the server is just running out of memory.So I'm going to upgrade my server plan.This will cause some more downtime today, but hopefully it will result in long term stability.

Well, I started on the game last night. I have to say, so far this is one of the better DND style muds I've seen. The staff are present and friendly, and the magic system is pretty true to DND so far minus some of the annoyances. I'm only level five though so maybe higher level spells bring those back? I've seen item retrieval quests, crafting quests, and kill quests so far, and it looks like the crafting system has potential, but I haven't dabbled in that too much yet.

I am going to do a short walkthrough, but not anything that would be considered spoilers. Before I do let me explain a few game concepts.The double footsteps sound you hear is your character going up or down stairs, so when you hear this sound you have gone up or down a level. To go back search the stairs again. You will know a stairwell by the description "To floor XX" on the map, where XX represents the floor (number)it takes you to. There is an exception to this which I will explain in better detail later in this post and that is that there are grates or holes in which you can only proceed one direction (downward). Be sure before you read on you have vertical navigation set in your router as I will go over how to use it in detail.When you begin the game you are in the center of a 5 by 10 grid map, or floor 1. To the north of you is a locked door to floor 4, to the west is a stairwell to floor 2, and to the east a stairwell to floor 3. There is nothing of
  exception here but it is a good room to look through the graphical world map and see the layout I described. It is an open room with no hallways/tunnels/elevations, so you can walk around without hinderence.Part 1: Find the keyYou start the game in room 12 of floor 1. First off you need to find a key to open the door to the north. I won't tell you exactly where the key is, but I will say it is on floor 2. Findroom 12 on the map and swipe left to highlight room 11, and then double click the room. This should take you one room closer to the stairwell to floor 1. Keep walking until you find the stairwell, it should take you to floor 2 as soon as you step onto it. You should now be on floor 2 room 14. Move around this area to find the key to unlock the door to floor 4. Once you have done so take the stairwell back to floor 1 and find room 12, the room you originally started from.Part 2: Enter the SewersNow that you have found the key and are standing back
  on room 12 of floor 1, walk northward until a tone and dialogue box pops up telling you that you need a key. Dismiss this notification and take another step northward. Another box will appear informing you that you used your key. Dismiss this as well. You should now be standing in the Sewers room 22 floor 4. Take a moment to look around the map with your finger. You will notice that there is sewer water directly ahead of you but that the north, west and eastern edges have apath. That path is elevated and can not be accessed except from one direction. Think of it like a catwalk or tunnel.Part3: First combatNow that you have taken a look around the map at what floor 4 looks like, take a step northward to room 17. You should automatically be drawn into battle. A dialogue help box will appear, find the done button three quarters of the way down the screen and click it. The battle screen is divided into several parts. The upper quarter is taken up by NPCs, the upper middle 
 quarter player and pet stats, the lower middle quarter with skills and potions, and the very last bottom quarter is your action log. I won't lie and say the battle interface is super easy to navigate for new users, but it is very easy once you understand what you are looking at.It is important to understand that it is best to use the horizontal swipe gesture for combat, as things are mostly layed out horizontally, at least it is with voice over. Take some time to swipe around the screen to learn where certain things are located and how best to get to them. To attack first touch your finger on the screen about one thirdn from the bottom until you either find your skills or potions. If you find your potions, swipe left until you find your skills. Double tap one of your offense skills, (It should repeat the skill to you) and then tap about a quarter down from your camera at the top of the screen. Now swipe right and you will notice it will start to read you a few thin
 gs such as "NPC 3", the name of an NPC, and your character name without a percentage. To attack find the NPC name with a percentage bar (for best results) and double tap it. Otherwise find the word "NPC1 and do the same. I will warn you though, there is a known bug where an NPC % bar will not be read by voice over. This is a bug that appeared when Apple last updated their IOS and TouchMint is/has been working on it. If thi happens simply look for the blank space or the word "NPC 1/2/3". Continue to attack when your turn comes up until you are victorious. Collect your rewarad by pressing "Pick up items". It is not necessary to look at anything else in this screen as it is easier to inspect your loot in more detail in your inventory.Part 4: Explore the SewersNow that you have hopefully survived your first combat it is time to explore. You will notice you are now standing in sewer water, this room with sewer water can only be exited by le

Yes, delete the game and do a fresh install of it again. You are sstill using certain data packs from the beta version, something that was transferred when you backed up your phone. It will save game data for some reason if the game is not deleted and backed up.Unfortunately this will wipe your characters, but they were linked in the beta version, something I think TouchMint said were not compatible. If you continue to use the game in it's current state, I don't know if updating it will fix it and you may continue to see bugs which were previously fixed.

My inventory seems to have been wiped. I had just finished a task to process logs into lumber. I went into my inventory to check how much lumber I got, and it wasn't showing up. Luckily someone had told me that sometimes the server doesn't update the client and to just log out and back in. I did that and I come back to an empty inventory. Is this a known bug?

You will now notice that when it reads you the stats of an item, it will either say +, - or nothing if the value is equal to what you are wearing.Once you create a character you will be placed into the world (after a short delay for loading)When you begin the game you are in the center of a 5 by 10 grid map, 
 or floor 1. To the north of you is a locked door to floor 4, to the west is a stairwell to floor 2, and to the east a stairwell to floor 3. There is nothing of exception here but it is a good room to look through the graphical world map and see the layout I described. It is an open room with no hallways/tunnels/elevations, so you can walk around without hinderence.It is also important to note that your character does not remain center focused in the world mapat all times. What this means is that your character will not remain in the middle of the map, and will move around it similarly to how a chess piece moves around a chess board. For example, if your character is in room 4, it can be found in the very top right corner of the map. If your character is in room 10, it can be found in the middle, on the very left hand side of the map.Part 1: Find the keyYou start the game in room 12 of floor 1. First off you need to find a key to open the door to the north. I won&
 #039;t tell you exactly where the key is, but I will say it is on floor 2. Findroom 12 on the map and swipe left to highlight room 11, and then double click the room. This should take you one room closer to the stairwell to floor 1. Keep walking until you find the stairwell, it should take you to floor 2 as soon as you step onto it. You should now be on floor 2 room 14. Move around this area to find the key to unlock the door to floor 4. Once you have done so take the stairwell back to floor 1 and find room 12, the room you originally started from.Part 2: Enter the SewersNow that you have found the key and are standing back on room 12 of floor 1, walk northward until a tone and dialogue box pops up telling you that you need a key. Dismiss this notification and take another step northward. Another box will appear informing you that you used your key. Dismiss this as well. You should now be standing in the Sewers room 22 floor 4. Take a moment to look around the map with 
 your finger. You will notice that there is sewer water directly ahead of you but that the north, west and eastern edges have apath. That path is elevated and can not be accessed except from one direction. Think of it like a catwalk or tunnel.Part3: First combatNow that you have taken a look around the map at what floor 4 looks like, take a step northward to room 17. You should automatically be drawn into battle. A dialogue help box will appear, find the done button three quarters of the way down the screen and click it. The battle screen is divided into several parts. The upper quarter is taken up by NPCs, the upper middle quarter player and pet stats, the lower middle quarter with skills and potions, and the very last bottom quarter is your action log. I won't lie and say the battle interface is super easy to navigate for new users, but it is very easy once you understand what you are looking at.It is important to understand that it is best to use the horizo

@Steve, most odd, though I don't know having not played rebound on anything but windows, I'm not sure how flash games work. you should hear the ball sound and be able to move your paddle with the arrow keys to blast the barrels of toxic waste. Well things have been mostly okay for me, at least as far as they go. my lady is being wonderful, doing stuff together and separately, tonight we finished Shrek with audio description which she'd not seen before but really enjoyed (shrek is awsome, at least for the first two films), I also sent off a review for arrows of the queen, which should be up soon, (they've posted my one for Phantoms). I finished doom coalition season 2 from big finish, which was great. the eleven is such an awesome vilalain, a timelord with eleven encarnations all of whom have distinct and psychotic personalities, and what was particularly cool was a  walking robot power loader fight ala ripley in  Aliens, though hopefully
  with all the build up it'll be worth it sinse we still don't know exactly what the eleven is up to,  where he came from or much of his history, I'm especially interested given his eighth self was supposedly his one good regenration. Also, shock horror this one involved river song, the schizo half timelord doctor's daughter from those really annoying moffat episodes, daughter of the annoying as hell Amy Pond. What shocked me though is much as I hated this character, and actually groaned when her "hellow sweety!" card arrived in the Tardis, I actually didn't find her too bad, she was a tough, compitant adventurer, sort of like a cross between the doctor and indiana jones. Maybe Big finish and decent writing can redeme this character after all.Well now I have to run off and make rocky road flavoured coco, so I'll be back soon.
